I love Magic Beans. I love Eli. But, can I just say how much I LOVE Mia's reviews?!?! So detailed, so engaging, not too fast, not too slow. Don't know if I said it - but snaps to you all!!!
There's also an anti-rebound panel on the new RX seat base for added safety; I just bought the new base for our Nuna Pipa Lite LX infant seat, and love it.
The anti-rebound panel and load leg are meant to accomplish the same thing in different ways. I haven’t seen any data or crash test footage that makes me think the anti-rebound panel adds much in safety over the load leg, I honestly think Nuna was jumping on the anti-rebound bandwagon just for fun because so many customers don’t understand the physics behind the load leg. But I do really like the recline feature!
the uppababy mesa is also compatible with the baby jogger city mini 2 and gt2. as well as the mima zigi, zari, and zari sport. the veer cruiser wagon. and the joovy twin roo
Hey Eli- been following your wisdom and reviews for a long time! Please tell me- your pick for a 2 year old- traveling in Europe- winter- baby zen YOYO or bugaboo Bee 5? Always love your thorough reviews and expert knowledge!
Pipa lite HAS to be used with the base while the PIPA and RX can be used without a base in the event that you MUST- they offer European style belt buckle. The PIPA Lite I believe also does not have the extra canopy and privacy extension net while the PIPA AND RX still do. I personally would go for the PIPA or PIPA RX. I’ll Compromise weight and rather get the extra features :)
The Nuna Pipa Lite LX has the dream drape canopy etc, but the Lite model can only be used with the base. I only intend to use my seat with the base, because it's much safer with the load leg and anti-rebound panel, so I went with the Nuna Pipa Lite LX model, since it's the lightest, but still has all of the other features of the normal nuna pipa.
I think rethread harnesses aren't on infant-only car seats; I think that's a feature on convertible carseats and seats that go past the infant stage. ??
At the recommendation of many professionals who work with newborns, the Pipa has avoided the unneeded feature of a no-rethread harness. Those are key for convertible car seats, but as a NICU nurse and CPST, I haaaate no-rethread harnesses on infant seats. They tend to cause dangerous chin-to-chest positioning for newborns, especially small or premature ones, but all newborns are at risk. Therefore I never recommend no-rethread infant seats to new parents. You’ll only have to rethread the harness 2-3 times max during baby’s use of their infant seat, and it’s an easy process that can be done in 5 minutes or less. If you’re going to spend $300+ on a car seat that you will only use for 6-12 months, go for the Pipa! With the load leg and rigid latch, it justifies the price - unlike the Mesa which just doesn’t have those standout features and can fit some newborns poorly, causing potential breathing problems.
S F thank you!!!! That def HELPED! ❤️Maybe you can give me your input with our next problem: since my boyfriends car has an elevated floor in the center, the load leg will not work (even w the new RELX base) so our next option is utilizing it WITH the load leg on the side of the passenger door which does scare me because positioning the infant car seat in the center is the ultimate and safest option for us. Either way I’m still thinking PIPA is the winner ! ( I don’t feel it’s safest using the infant car seat in the center WITHOUT the seatbelt AND the base cause then it just defeats the purpose of the other safety features) mind you his cars center LATCHES will NOT work w either base since so positioning the baby on the side sounds like the last option but it just scared the heck out of me.

I Love Mia's reviews too! Isn't she awesome? And...you can book a consultation with her too! Thanks for watching. -Eli

Hello and thank you for the review. Which would you say is the safest overall or are the equal? Thank you.
Love my new Nuna & it looks way better than the mesa too.
the uppababy mesa is also compatible with the baby jogger city mini 2 and gt2. as well as the mima zigi, zari, and zari sport. the veer cruiser wagon. and the joovy twin roo
Are you sure?

Hi, in base of comparison what’s the difference between the nuna pipa, pipa lite lx and rx?
Pipa lite HAS to be used with the base while the PIPA and RX can be used without a base in the event that you MUST- they offer European style belt buckle. Tks for the info

Here's a link directly to the manufacture site showing all the features of the Nuna Pipa Lite Lx model
UB can also pair with Veer, Strollair, and Valco btw!
It works with universal car seat adapters!
Great video! Thank you!
Which is the easiest base to transfer from car to car
They are the same
Is the new PIPA RX a no rethread harness? And are the other color UPPA BABY infant car seats besides the Marino wool fire free retardant?
Only the UppaBaby Jordan and Henry fabrics are free of flame retardant chemicals; all the other UppaBaby colors have fire retardant chemicals.
I think rethread harnesses aren't on infant-only car seats; I think that's a feature on convertible carseats and seats that go past the infant stage. ??
The Upper Baby Mesa (however it’s spelt) has a no rethread harness but missed the Nuna brand...

She’s so out of breath throughout the whole video. Are these car seats that heavy?
