- After the death of Tyland Lannister there was a new hand of the king, Unwin Peake rose quickly after his action in the dance of the dragons and hour of the wolf and worked just as quick in securing his power of not just the small council, the council of regents but also the boy King Aegon iii Targaryen himself. While the house of the dragon sat the iron throne during this time make no mistake it was Unwin Peake pulling the strings.
The Dance Of The Dragons will be the focus of the plot of the new HBO spin-off House Of The Dragon coming in 2022. So if you want to learn the story before we see HBO's take on it then this will be a very long-running series. Game Of Thrones / House of the dragon are HBO shows based on George R R Martin's A Song Of Ice And Fire series. The information in this video comes from the books a world of ice and fire as well as fire and blood.

Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen was trapped on Dragonstone by her brother King Aegon ii with no way to escape her fate. What was to come was the final showdown between the two main players of the dance of the dragons and bring the war into its final phase. The House of the dragon was crumbling and the events that was about to follow would only cause more damage to both sides of the war.

Unwin is without a doubt one, if not the main villain, of Aegon iii regency but given if I was in his shoes I'd probably do some of the stuff he did to. I wouldn't be as dastardly but giving position to key men loyal to me seems like the best course of action. Making Aegon and Alyn his enemies so early was just a foolish move. Trying to make his daughter the Queen of the 7K is overreaching and we saw what happen when a Reach lord overreaches during the Dance. His main concerns should've been helping the King through his grief, insuring reaming Greens and Blacks are at peace, and healing the realm. Had he did these things, he might have stayed Hand or at least on the council when Aegon came of age.
He was the opposite of Tyland and everything wrong with Otto.

Whether it’s swindling castles from the Manderlys or stealing a House’s generational Valyrian steel sword, aggressive nepotism, supporting the Blackfyres multiple times, this whole house doesn’t know any bounds lmao. It’s like Tywin falls right between this guy and Otto Hightower in terms of character traits and actions.

Poor kid the dance took everyone he loved and everyone that would have supported him, he was basically a powerless figurehead that was kept prisoner in the red keep. He should have been able to choose his own kings guard

Peaking of the peake
Unwin Peake did the same thing that Otto Hightower did but with less subtlety.
Really surprised House Peake is still around after supporting numerous Blackfyre rebellions. Maybe Bloodraven refrained from erasing the whole house because they still have some role to play.
Sorry I know this isn’t the right era to be discussing I just dislike the Peakes so much.
Roger Reyne wanted to execute them all after the Peake uprising that killed King Maekar, but Egg stopped him while he was in the process of doing it

The other regents when they get made regents to rule realm in stead of Aegon 3: okay, we’re in charge while our king is still a boy, so we should all stay here to rule the realm right?
Other regents: and Unwin Peake was a harcore green supporter, and his house and he is known to be a very ambitious, so we should make sure to keep his power in check.
Like not letting him be hand, lord protector, fill court with his men etc.
And certainly not let the last living green targaryen be dependent on his men and kin looking after her right?
Regents: yes, makes perfect sense.
(Almost all proceed to go home instead, leaving Unwin Peake in charge, almost certainly causing Jaehara to die, appointing himself hand, regent, lord protector and trying to marry Aegon to his daughter, while filling red keep with almost all his own men or kin, and only acting when he did try to marry Aegon to his daughter).
Unwin Peake was a crappy greedy and ambitious person, but the rest of the regents were pretty bad for all just leaving and expecting things to be fine when you leave a dodgy person as the only real regent lord left in kings landing, while your king is a depressed boy.

He’d kept his oath, did what he could(and then some), then went home. Not his purview to go back and forth to settle issues beyond the war.
House Peake are some of the best minor villains in the story
