    Just tried opening a bitlocker drive in Debian Bullseye XFCE this 2023, it automatically prompts you for the password no setup needed

    Wow so easy... except for the 11 minutes essay of code and gibberish just to open a simple drive. I genuinely feel sorry for nerds. I'm going back to windows 10.

    Good morning. I followed you instructions and they worked perfectly...BUT! On taking out and putting back the usb drive into the same usb port, it didn't work because it got assigned as dev/sdb1 instead of the original tag of dev/sda1. Now I am unable to umount sd1 because it sees nothing connected there?

    bitlocker is a file encoding not a drive encoding , so if you lose your password you lose the files , not the drive

    very helpful thanks for sharing, i did run into one issues though when running dislocker with -u to prompt for the password i get an error saying unable to grab VMK or FVEK . Abort, however if I use -r and insert the recovery key, i am able to mount the drive with no problems, any idea why this is. I know this is not a support forum but any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I've been using this video for like a year, great apport, in all that time, I cant manage to make the script work :c
    #! /bin/bash
    sudo dislocker -V /dev/sdc1 -u -- /mnt/dislocker-container
    sudo mount -o loop /mnt/dislocker-container/dislocker-file /mnt/dislocker
    sudo nemo /mnt/dislocker
    ----
    I get the error "no file or directory" is executable and I make sure the code is correct, if I get to copy and paste each command into the terminal, I can open my HDD without a problem, but when I try to automate the process with a script it just dont work :c
