BikePacking Setup

- A Quick look at my BikePacking setup or should it be Bike Touring , which I have found works for me. I prefer the pannier way as find them easier to use than trying the lighter route of a saddle bag trying to cram everything in.
My motto is “Pack for comfort not lightness”
You don’t need to spend a fortune , any bike can be used with a few additions.
I have been wild camping for years so most of that gear works on my BikePacking trips. But what works for me may not work for you, it’s a trial and error process.
I forgot to mention that I also carry spare tubes, water filter, tools , hex keys etc etc

Very cool the charging setup ..never seen that before thanks
Your welcome 👍🏻
I started of using bike packing bags. There was never enough room in them. So I used a alpkit rucksack for the extra kit. But then I kept getting shoulder pain. And getting a lot of sweat on my back. So I started using four panniers and I have find it a lot more enjoyable to ride the bike like that.
Same here James , I still have bike packing bags but yeah it’s trying to cram everything in 😂 maybe not the lightest option with panniers but far easier. I do carry a small osprey rucksack that folds into nothing for when we visit the shops at the end of the day for essentials 🍺👍
Ta! Helpful Vid 😊
Thanks 👍
Great setup and ready to go mate, the cockpit additions look spot on⛺️🚲👍🏻
Cheers Ian , ready for the new seasons trips 🚲⛺️👍
All bases covered there Dave. Great set up. 👍

Great set up Dave, covers every eventuality, makes me want to get my bike out of the shed😁
You should , just been out on mine and its a cold wind still.brrrr
Get it out!
Great set-up Dave, perfect for the miles you put in and we'll thought out due to experience.
My set-up looks like I'm heading to a car boot sale 🙄
If it works for you Donna , we all have our own ways and set ups . It served me well on last years trips 💪🏻🚲👍

Nice setup
Thanks 🚲⛺️👍
sure there's room for the kitchen sink dave 🤣 aye good set up your probably limited what you can get in the triangle bag so it doesn't catch your legs. the 2 bags near your stem remind me of climbers chalk bags. its baltic out there 🥶
Cheers Geordie , I don’t want to be cold or uncomfortable on trips. Frame bag is ideal for heavier stuff like tools, power banks etc those chalk bags are ideal for the GoPro and goodies 😂🚲
Saddle bags make me laugh, maybe if you're just going from town to town and maybe spending 1 night camping they might be nice and light but everyone who really stays out on the bike for long periods of time uses a rear rack. Not everyone uses panniers though, lots of the foremost adventures, inspired by Iohan Gueorguiev, carry a backpack on their rear rack instead, that way you can put the pack on your back when you have to hike the bike.
Personal choice I suppose , I’m not one for rucksack carrying on the rack but yeah what works for one might not work for another..
@@davesolobiker5601 yeah I wouldn't do it unless I had a ton of hike a bike to do. I use panniers because I sometimes go for a long time between resupplies, but rarely have to hike.
Milujem svoje bike bikepacking😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
⛺️🚲👍
Just wondering Dave if you have used your electric bike for bike packing before?
I did when when I had my old diy e-bike but it was just an overnighter really , it’s on my other channel tho - th-cam.com/video/DkPo9qZO_w0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vL7ABIwfO5dQEFT7
@@davesolobiker5601 Nice one! I will check it out! I suppose if you can find somewhere to charge up again then it's useful to have with the extra bags to carry 👍
How would you rate your charge saddle?
It’s way better than the cannondale one , it’s comfortable but you start to get a numb backside at the end of the day. Overall for my type of cycling , stopping plenty of times it works well. Atb Dave
Shame the internal frame bag has no zip flaps or something to make it waterproof
Yeah but it will be fine for me though 🚲👍
What is the name of the magnet charger never seen one and how does it connect to the phone and garmin
P-TECHUK Fast Charging 360° +... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B097TNJJH1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Here’s the link for it , comes with various little adapters ,usb-c to magnet . Basically I leave one plugged into my phone/garmin and light so all 3 have the magnet ready for me to just pop the cable on whatever needs charged 👍
@davesolobiker5601 hi thanks very much for your reply il look into these and also great content another binge watch 😁
