While I thought the show was great they lost it at the end - all of season 6 was just a disappointment, with a few great things mixed in. So frustrating that they KNEW this was the end yet they left so much hanging and unexplained, like: - What were the "entities"? What did they really want? - Why did they destroy so much? No other show/movie has done that for me except a FEW. Even then I could only rewatch those maybe twice. Thank the gods for "Reactors", just another fun way to rewatch the series for the 100th time!!!
Jesus Christ!!! That’s pretty much how I feel about the wire mate. What’s your top ten tv shows? Mine are 1. The wire 2. Game of thrones 3. Mr robot 4. Dark 5. The boys 6. Breaking bad 7. Succession 8. Stranger things 9. Sopranos 10. Mad men/Better call Saul The expanse is definitely a very good show, but couldn’t quite make the top ten for me.
I thought the whole season was amazing. Definitely better than season 4 and 5. I would go so far as to say it’s up there as may be one of the best seasons in the entire series. Every single episode was great and I typically in a pretty harsh critic of most films and TV shows.
"The Expanse" is an example of what Hollywood can still be capable of. No "lecturing", just good writing and memorable characters that fascinate us not because they are "socially perfect", but because they are flawed, relatable humans. The Expanse chose the perfect spot to stop and let us reflect on how wonderful the story was. There are, of course, more books. So another series is possible. Let's hope it can live up to the incredibly good writing and acting of the first series.
I think in their final dialogue, Avasarala realized that Holden has grown up. He's not a naive boy anymore, he's learned to play the game and that he made a smart move that even she - as the grand chess master of the political expanse universe - hasn't seen coming. Starting off, Holdens way of dealing with stuff was mainly "Let's just tell everybody", now (and continuing in the books that weren't adapted YET) he's starting to play the "game" better than anybody else.
Re-watch episode 6 and look at all the love the entire team feels and shares for each other. The sacrifices they are willing to make to protect one-another. Just like our friends and families. In the end, that's all we really want.
One of my most favorite series of all time. I wanted to cry when it ended. It's just so grounded in a future reality that it's hard to believe it's sci fi.
There's a series of books (same authors) which takes place years later and is the authors' closing of the story. It is as compelling as the originals. The first video series ended where it did because that's where the books ended. The production team had discussed Amazon being interested in making the new series after some time had passed. We'll see if that actually comes to be - it was expensive and there was merchandising disagreements.
You got some things wrong: 1. You keep saying Medina Station when you mean the Ring Station 2. Bobby destroyed the rail gun Reactor, not the Control Station
@@agnieszkab.9343 they triggered the ring entities by a mass energy overload. And the entities consumed Marco’s fleet since mass limit had been exceeded. Our side lost some pods in the same way during the railgun ring station assault in a similar manner.

They didn’t want to recast or didn’t thing they could actually display they time gap. There is also chatter that something is in the works to finish the show on the screen.
It's pretty obvious that this is not a series finale, but just a season finale. And that the showrunners still have some material they want to film / produce. Let's hope they find a streaming provider where they can put their plans into action.
I think It's meant to be both. It's a wrap-up for a previous storyline and has the feel of a series finale while leaving things open ended. I think it was supposed to be there just in case they do have a chance at a new season
It’s sad they may not be able to adapt the other books but I’m glad they didn’t try rush through it all those and squeeze them in to these last 6 episodes like another show was guilty of doing.
"You're such a fucking optimist. It's a miracle you've lived this long." That was not the UNN Secretary General speaking. That was Lakshmi-2/Maya Sundaresh speaking on behalf of Future War Cult.
The final episode felt rushed. There were many avenues that were not explored such as the alien entities. I feel that the show needed at least one more season.
books deal with that, as the show is based on the first 6 books - the remaining 3 actually finish it, while boy's story is apparently based on a spinoff novella Strange Dogs which is dedicated entirely to Laconia and apparently gives a lot more answers (haven't read it yet)
@@StephenJohnson-jb7xe I didn't read the books but, I know 4 people who read the Books when they were Band new. Only 1 of them watches the TV. " They Changed too Much", said the Other 3.
There is no such thing as being "out of range" of a railgun: You can only be out of effective targeting. The projectiles would be small and difficult to track... But not impossible. You might even detect the EMP of the railgun. So you're ability to dodge a projectile is detection at X range.
It was an amazing ending. I loved how Naomi came up with the idea of waking up the entities and kill Marco and on top of that kill her own son, INSANE but she managed to do it. Gonna miss her so much and Holden and Amos and Bobbie and Peaches😭😭😭😭😭
So by "amazing ending" you mean they left SO MUCH unexplained and unresolved, like: - What were the "entities"? What did they really want? - Why did they destroy so much? Or did they? - What was the "spaceship"? - What was the guy doing who wanted to "kill the gods"? - What was the deal with the "dogs"? - What was the point of the kid who died/came back and his family? @@ross-carlson because they unfortunately are not allowed to adapt the last 3 books, which answer these questions. This ended pretty much like the book it adapts ended.
The rail guns weren’t mounted on Medina station, it would wouldn’t have survived the recoil, it was mounted on the ring station, since it has infinite inertia, recoil isn’t a problem
Decent enough explanation, but pondering whether The Expanse producers might imagine how Duarte fared, does suggest that you’re in blissful ignorance of Corey’s final 3 books: Persepolis Rising, Tiamat’s Wrath and Leviathan Falls? They LITERALLY continue the story, picking up a few decades after season 6. An aging Rosi crew and a developed, expansionist Duarte/Laconia. I can heartily recommend the Audible versions because they are narrated in a way that really feels similar to the TV show. …..you MUST have known?!
After "Filip Inaros" portraid by _Jasai Chase-Owens_ killed all the unarmed scientist on their science vessel and also killed his best friend, I felt his character is no longer redeemable.
I just binge watched the 6th season and i was really *really* disappointed over how it ended. We never got to know about the dead aliens or the hostile aliens, we didn't get to know much about the sidestory of the planet with settlers. Marco's death was just lazy, cheap and stupid. Filip just flew off into space alone... no closure with mom. And why did the pilot from Season 5 suddenly vanish !?, no explanation iirc. Are we to believe that suddenly, out of the blue, everything is going to be lollipops and marchmallows by the fire now that Marco is gone!?... what about the alien threat !?. I am disappointed ... very disappointed. The last season was even 4 episodes shorter.
Bull actually dies in book/season 3. They created Drummer for the show, she was a mix of a couple of characters including Bull, but brought Bull into it later on. But yeah I found it strange how he just vanished in the show. There are three more book that continue the story 30 years later, I hear it’s the time gap and actors playing older versions of their characters why they called it at book/season 6. There is chatter that something is in the works to finish it all off.
For everyone that is still upset, just know there are over multiple spin offs that are going to take place after everything that just happened. All of the main characters signed new contracts to stay on board but they will not be the center of attention.

I was so unbelievably let down by this final season. The show was absolutely incredible but the decision to clearly cut the budget for the last season killed me. The battle scenes look cheap and and nothing like previous seasons.

Thank the gods for "Reactors", just another fun way to rewatch the series for the 100th time!!!
Jesus Christ!!! That’s pretty much how I feel about the wire mate. What’s your top ten tv shows? Mine are
1. The wire
2. Game of thrones
3. Mr robot
4. Dark
5. The boys
6. Breaking bad
7. Succession
8. Stranger things
9. Sopranos
10. Mad men/Better call Saul
The expanse is definitely a very good show, but couldn’t quite make the top ten for me.
The inauguration was not on medina it was on ceres station!!! You could even see that in the tabloid that holden is given!!
The ring builders are different from the the Unknown Aggressor's that destroyed the ringbuilders, right?
Yepper. The Ring Builders used protomolecule as a tool. The Unknown Aggressors wiped them out a zillion years ago.
You got some things wrong:
1. You keep saying Medina Station when you mean the Ring Station
@@iankennedy2592 The Barkeith disappeared without any overload actiobs, was ist so much more massive?
Slipped in the #ExpandTheExpanse line, nicely done Looper
Truly great ending. I wish there were more.
there will be, eventually

When Naomi saw Filip as a baby just before she pushed the button and when Amos laid and covered Bobbie and said "I got you, Bobbie"...
Nice recap. Well done.
What a show. Nothing else has come close in a modern sci fi series except the remake of Battlestar.
Agreed with Lennie and RAKKAR! A fabulous series with even more potential for the big screen in digital 3D!!
Well done Looper expose of final episode, too.
First 3 seasons had great pacing, last 3 seasons have been good but so slow and it's done without concluding the alien arc? The hell.
There is another 3 books that continue the story, the issue is there is a 30 year gap between Book 6/Season 6 and Book 7/Season 7 in then story timeline.
It's a miracle you've lived this long."
That was not the UNN Secretary General speaking. That was Lakshmi-2/Maya Sundaresh speaking on behalf of Future War Cult.
So sad it's over. Hopefully in a few years we will get the final books adapted.
The final episode felt rushed. There were many avenues that were not explored such as the alien entities. I feel that the show needed at least one more season.
Agreed. It feels like a story only half told.
I love that show on the same lvl as Farscape, Space Above and Beyond and Firefly. It was so good! I will miss it dearly
Great breakdown👏💪😎absolutely excellent💯👑
Without doubt one of the very best Sci-fi shows ever.
Amazing show and fantastic ending. Just hoping they adapt the final 3 books
Was that really the last episode? Damn, I wanted to see where the story of the boy revived by the space dogs leads.
Same! That whole storyline just feels like filler now and could have been left out completely.
Well....
The next Book , in the series this show is based on, takes place 30 years after the creation of the Trade Union.
So...????!!!!!!????
books deal with that, as the show is based on the first 6 books - the remaining 3 actually finish it, while boy's story is apparently based on a spinoff novella Strange Dogs which is dedicated entirely to Laconia and apparently gives a lot more answers (haven't read it yet)
@@jedijc5411 I haven't read the books so thanks for the info. How do you rate the books compared to others you have read?
@@StephenJohnson-jb7xe I didn't read the books but, I know 4 people who read the Books when they were Band new. Only 1 of them watches the TV. " They Changed too Much", said the Other 3.
There is no such thing as being "out of range" of a railgun: You can only be out of effective targeting. The projectiles would be small and difficult to track... But not impossible. You might even detect the EMP of the railgun. So you're ability to dodge a projectile is detection at X range.
It's a shame the screwed the ending like they did, they skipped pretty much the complete last book.
They left it opened because the show was canceled. So ofc the ending won’t be that great. Hopefully another network picks it up
It was an amazing ending. I loved how Naomi came up with the idea of waking up the entities and kill Marco and on top of that kill her own son, INSANE but she managed to do it.
Gonna miss her so much and Holden and Amos and Bobbie and Peaches😭😭😭😭😭
So by "amazing ending" you mean they left SO MUCH unexplained and unresolved, like:
- What were the "entities"? What did they really want?
- Why did they destroy so much? Or did they?
- What was the "spaceship"?
- What was the guy doing who wanted to "kill the gods"?
- What was the deal with the "dogs"?
- What was the point of the kid who died/came back and his family? What was the point of all that?
Or did I miss the episodes that explained that? Great show but other than the fun action at the end very disappointing for such a great show.
@@ross-carlson I'm sorry but i read the books and I know the answers. I have faith we'll get more in a couple of years.
The ending was nice. Better than most shows have done in the decade
After "Filip Inaros" portraid by _Jasai Chase-Owens_ killed all the unarmed scientist on their science vessel and also killed his best friend, I felt his character is no longer redeemable.
I really enjoyed by each one episode. Nice one and I hope it will expand ... Once!
I wish another network keeps the story going….this an AMAZING story and want to know more…..
While i didnt finish the show i have to say theres few books that made me care for characters as much as i did for the roci crew...
What a great show! I hope they do a spin-off
There're three books in the series after the sixth season. And a 30 year gap between 6 and 7, 8, and 9. The story is there waiting to be made.
I just binge watched the 6th season and i was really *really* disappointed over how it ended.
We never got to know about the dead aliens or the hostile aliens, we didn't get to know much about
the sidestory of the planet with settlers.
Marco's death was just lazy, cheap and stupid. Filip just flew off into space alone... no closure with mom.
And why did the pilot from Season 5 suddenly vanish !?, no explanation iirc.
Are we to believe that suddenly, out of the blue, everything is going to be lollipops and marchmallows by the fire now
that Marco is gone!?... what about the alien threat !?.
Come back!!! So much more to explore
For everyone that is still upset, just know there are over multiple spin offs that are going to take place after everything that just happened. All of the main characters signed new contracts to stay on board but they will not be the center of attention.
Is this still as far as it goes? I was hoping to see the Tempest.
I've read all the books and this is very good
Amazing show..... I wish we got more..... great writing... action scenes..... cinematography
I so love athe Expanse series and the main characters!! Love Drummer, James and Amos. I loved Alex too and sorry to hear of his personal demise. Please finish the last 3 books!! I have watched this series over and over!! I mis Asford too!!❤❤😊😊
So no word about the ending screen with the protomolecule ship crossing the ring and the entities slowly waking up to torn the ring bright orange ?
What a show! Brilliant
yh this feels rushed and left a lot of the alien tech lore unexplored which I thought would be more interesting primary story.
Loved it just want to know what happened to the resurrected kid.
The saving of Filip was the greatest victory
Is it wrong that I am in love with the Evil No.2, man, woman, lady, she beast "Rosenfeld Guoliang" portrayed by Kathleen Robertson...
When she said "Is it bad? am I hit? I don't wanna to go". I was just cutting onions and hot peppers.
thank u
Explained. They didn't want to fund it any more. A shame.
I was so unbelievably let down by this final season. The show was absolutely incredible but the decision to clearly cut the budget for the last season killed me. The battle scenes look cheap and and nothing like previous seasons.
The characters are very consistent. Naomi can't be trusted. Your nature is to always betray, for being selfish and manipulative.
Read the books !
The Rail Guns were mounted on the Ring. Not Medina.
What exactly did this video explain ?
Wish Amazon Prime would do another season 😢
Whenever a show just ends somewhat abruptly with a heck of a lot of unknowns...it's like the show producers is giving their audiences a big f**k you! Make me jot want to watch anything else that producer does after that
Why do you guys keep calling the ring station Medina? No! Medina is the former Behemoth! Why produce videos about a series you don’t watch. Seriously 🙄
This series has so much more to offer the books are 10 books so much more
We need a season for the 7th and 8th books
