This is an excellent video, well shot and edited Thomas! Your dialogue is clear, concise and your pace just right. I enjoyed your superb graphics too, especially when you circled your speed on the instrument panel with a quill feather, and the radiation symbol on the locked door to the reactor room! Your details and description about the wildlife encountered, especially the walrus pod (42:23) was very educational and much appreciated. May I ask what camera's you used? It was not in the info above. I noticed what looked like a GoPro or Sony cam on your head strap, but for the long and very stable zoomed shots, especially of the polar bear (48:27), were you using a DSLR and long lens mounted on a tripod, or a dedicated video cam with image stabiliztion? I sailed on 7 expeditions to Antarctica (2013-2016) on two Russian polar research ships owned by the Russian Academy of Sciences - the Akademik Ioffe and Akedemik Sergy Vavlilov. I was truly impressed with the build and cleanliness of the ships, right down to the engine room. The crew are very proud of their boats, which was evident everywhere you went throughout the ship. Even while at sea, the crew would be outdoors painting and maintaining the steel surfaces during good weather. One last request - could you list your musical selections, especially the Russian orchestra music as you steamed into Murmansk. Thank you once again Thomas for a marvelous tour! Cheers! Frederic in Montréal

Glad that you all enjoyed it. You might find it interesting to see how different a trip to the South Pole is ( th-cam.com/video/3-wjwbQa0W4/w-d-xo.html ).
Great great video.....wow so many aspects of your trip make it special.....the journey' the ship itself' ship tour' although very utilitarian and rugged ship but all things Russian are it looked comfortable'great meals'multiple excursions on and off the ship via helicopter'ship festivities on the ice at the North Pole'and seems very up close and personal interaction with the captain the crew'access to the bridge for viewing this was a journey for you for me such a pleasure to view definitely going to share & definitely going to check some of your other adventures.... Thank you for all your efforts to share this with us... Thank you

It certainly was fascinating nay relaxing to watch the ice being continuously broken.
Great video- 90 degrees North is on my list ! Thanks for the excellent work...
Amazing Work. Loved it.
wonderful video!
Cheers!

Indeed, this is one of the best videos I have ever seen. Well paced, excellent narration, beautiful cinematography.
Thank you for sharing oh and btw I’m quite jealous of that Russian themed dinner you had the privilege to enjoy😅😁
Not once in my life have I ever wanted to go to the North Pole. After watching this I will admit it’s definitely on my bucket list. Great video and hope you have many more journeys to take us along with.

What a trip this was!!!
It made me feel that I was watching a movie that required a preparedness not even 007 could challenge, even for the shake of his movies, could he?

Wonderful video! Love the music and the commentary as well. As a retired research engineer, I have the opportunity to review the challenges with the ship's reactor.

tletter your very welcome. I do like video's of this type made by regular folks enjoying themselves, much more than the standard entertainment documentry's.
I really felt as if i were on that trip. Well done and the narrator had a nice relaxing voice. Now I would love to do that trip but I'm getting to old to go up and down all those steps on the ship.
