Making an engineering documentairy and then using ancient and useless measurement systems never ceases to amaze me. At least mention the measurements in units the entire world uses and understands. Even the US doesn't use those units in engineering or science.
As a recreational traveller, I want the captain to explain how his icebreaker performs in stormy weather. As I have experienced the Drake Passage on an expedition ship ( Silversea Explorer) with my sea legs fully operational, how will his vessel perform in 10 metre waves in the open waters of the North Atlantic or the Drake passage. His assurance will determine my future bookings ex Melbourne, Australia, Southern Hemisphere.
need to make underwater drones which are also wireless, just think how deep you can go and also making it withstand the deepest oceans ,like pointing down in the water a radio frequency which the drone will pick up for its comms. 👍👍🦘🦘😎😎 Australians invented wi fi, but not really it was Nicola tesla who really invented radio waves which can control other things electrically operated, like his boat which people thought he was using his mind to control? 🦘🦘😎😎

The other day, a polar bear gave me a call. He sounded quite frustrated and said, “You won’t believe this, but a big ship sliced right through my daily work route on the ice!” Apparently, he had been trying to make his way across for five days, but the ice still too thin to hold it together, and kept breaking apart. It seems even polar bears aren’t immune to the troubles of modern tourism! He sighed and mentioned that now he’d have to start looking for a detour or other job. “It’s hard enough finding food, and now this! Can’t they see the ice is our highway?”
I've seen hydroplanes breaking ice. Would that not be even more efficient than this type of icebreaker? Or is this more a cruise ship/icebreaker than just an icebreaker?
this is the only Polar Class II icebreaker on earth in civilian service, not even the Russian nuclear icebreakers can get through ice this thick. Russian nuke boats are all PCIII (thinner ice). Only the USCG Polar class icebreakers can operate in ice this thick.
Merci fora real documentary, it makes me wish for a polar e voyage... but after something inside me remind my dreaming that i suffer from mal di mare=sea sickness...
From $6K to $73K that's the minimum range of profit return every week I thinks it's not a bad one for me, now I have enough to pay bills and take care of my family.

Just sold a property in Alaska and I'm thinking to put the cash in stocks, I know everyone is saying it's ripe but Is this a time to buy stocks? How long until a full recovery? How are other people in the same market raking in over $450k gains within months, I'm really just confused at this point.
If ur out of the USA don't count on it when u go to a different country they don't cater to Americans ur expected to know the native language smfh we r not the end all be all language out there
If not the computer graphics person, some kind of editor should have known sea water freezes at 28.8F not -28.8F which is the equivalent of -33.78 C. Missing by a country mile reduces the video’s credibility.
I find it strange that America hasn't gotten into icebreakers. Can we get Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos to get interested; I would opt for a cruise on an ice breaker before I would ride a rocket.
You spotted the Ai duh… click bait crud. Respect! People are so easily duped because when don’t truly listen, read, watch, and question… attention span, sound general knowledge and lazy minds. Clever cookie for you!!! 😏
So much easier in metric. The French along with most of the world, bar 3 use metric, so it should be presented in Metric. Metric is S.I. Units, which stands for System International, which is French. It was agreed upon years ago for the purpose of trade across Europe and dates back about 200 years. Even the US is technically Metric as they were given 2 of the standardised Kilo masses.
I call BS on 1 spot. The DAILY water usage. There is no way 400 people are using 50 tons of water daily for just drinking water. Even if people drank their entire body weight in water on a daily basis I don't think you would reach 50 tons lol.
@@cuddlepaws4423 Me not paying attention? Maybe you should? Jump to the 47 minute mark. This is the allocation stated in the video 1. 25 tons to laundry 2. 10 to 15 tons for the kitcen 3. 10 tons to technical facilities and cleaning 4. 50 tons to drinking water (image even shows a water faucet and a cup) Says it plain and simple. "Drinking water". Does not get much more plain and straight forward as that. Was something else said in another part of the video I don't know about?
Why does the narrator and incidental music have to be so damn overly dramatic?? I can see what is going on and being said, I wanted to look at this for its ingenious construction not as an overwrought melodrama. Grow up.
As advanced as it is it seems to be a fair weather ship. But it seems to be a ship 50 years too late. A maximum icebreaker in a world of thinning ice. 30 to 40 years from now it will be obsolete. I did like the engineering of the infrastructure on board. A lot of fail safes. It clearly wasn't built by Americans. Who slap things together without a second thought, unless the second thought is how to save money.
The waters of "both the South and North Poles"?? Can somebody maybe break it to these folks gently that the South Pole is hundreds of miles inland and several hundred feet above sea level? The only "waters" there ar the ones you get by thawing snow, like for your tea maybe.
Zero "Construction" in this video. Marginally informative.. There is nothing new about ships using LNG for fuel, azipods, electric motors and batteries for propulsion. The design of the LNG storage tanks was pretty cool, tho. With the overly dramatic narration and music, you'd think something historical was about to happen. Nope. Two stars.
Thanks!
La verdad que el barco es una maravilla.
Incredible what humans can acheive yet there are some who make weapons and war instead of greatness. This is greatness.
Those that did not make great weapons got conquered.
great
It's the greatest thing that has ever been conceived or built. ~ The French are so modest.
Are you serious???????
This is absolutely incredible!! The amount of pure intelligence thats been put into this ship is just mind blowing.
So uch went into the ship that there wasn't any left over for the TH-cam video. "Waters of the South Pole"?? Gimme a break.
I would love to work on this ship in any capacity!😊

At 6:10 they show -28.5 F temp when sea ice forms, that seems a little on the cold side for that to occur.
Salt water freezes at a lower temperature than water alone-
Probably the salt content varies the freezing point of the wa wa.
@@rdallas81 I was being sarcastic but negative 28.5 is way too low . Obviously a typo

It's not the only ship, the Russians did it and are doing it since way back. The Russian ship Yamal use air bubbles to break up ice more efficiently
