I am struggling with mine after full engine overhaul. I notice my distributor does not fit down that last little bit you showed in this film, having to pound it in . I also did not notice the spring on bottom of distributor shaft, Gonna pull today and make sure it is there. I got it to run very briefly yesterday still backfiring a bit through carb.
I had trouble with this 51 willys cj3a... the flywheel was 180 off... I used a wire through the spark plug hole to fee TDC, and watch intake valve close, and exhaust valve closed... Then see whick terminal the rotor is pointing at... Make your wire go to that cylinder, then just folow the firing order around the distributor... worked for me, and running fine.
Thank you, you help me a lot, I did everything by the book 10 times before watching your video and you help the more then anything I tried
Thank you guys for the video. So helpful

When I try to adjust while it’s running, my distributor shocks the hell out of me.
you have bad ignition wires, the wires are "leaking" this is pretty common
@@RFJP_G503 The wire from the coil to the distributor or from the distributor to the spark plugs? Or all of the above?
@@Colonel_Obvious they come in a set all 5 wires

@@RFJP_G503 Thanks! I’ll try a new set.
