What energy independence? That's not a thing as long as we have fossil fuels in the mix. Obama opened a shedload of offshore drilling and exploded the fracking industry that's why we became net exporters of energy under Obama/Biden *not under trump*. There were 5 important metrics and four of them were crossed under the Obama/Biden administration. The trajectory was in place for the 5th and final metric which happened to cross while Trump was in office. The United States became net exporters of REFINED PETROLEUM when Trump was in office - he had fugall to do with it.

Putin invaded Ukraine, which the Soviet Union recognized as independent in 1991.
You can't do that, and then demand said country to be fully annexed into the Russian Federation and then force Ukrainians to become Russian citizens against their will, under threat of taking away their state pensions and removing ownership of their land.
At some point, you have to recognize this as ethnic cleansing.
