Totally with you on Lucy being the best female vocalist since Karen Carpenter, and Lucy still has years before her voice reaches full maturity. Stunning tone and she never forces a single note making her voice sound even more beautiful and powerful.
I have to say I personally think this is one of her best songs and then you throw the ballerina in it and it's a home run
Lucy chooses here to take on a song which requires her to use her lower register predominantly. But this is so warm and silky smooth. It goes to show that you don’t need to belt out super high notes and dramatic holds to sound absolutely wow. The beautiful ballerina in a run down stately house videography here is in my mind very clever as a counterpoint to the class style and elegance of Lucy. The vocals, as always are top shelf. This song is proving very popular on TH-cam. Thanks for your reaction Chris.

The ballerina spins slowly to music-box notes, like some figurine that pops up out of an 19th-century jewelry box. She dances through rooms once grand but now abandoned, empty, and unrecognized even, like a lot of 1960's pop music. But Team Lucy found something in this old attic that they have worked up into an absolute gem; more tribute than cover. I'm old enough to remember the original, fondly, even if I never got the lyrics. And, "I like this version better." Sound familiar? How does she and her team keep doing this?

Lucy has it all!,& then some!,I believe Lucy has quite a lot to do with the production of her songs along with Chris Broom who deserves a massive amount of credit for what he has done to help Lucy along the way!,yes there are other very talented vocalists out there but to my mind there is something extra special within Lucy that shines through,she is simply mesmerising!💖
Whilst I agree generally I do wish they'd stop pitch correcting her as it's actually having the opposite effect to what they were intending it for.

Yes. Loren was not nervous, and the changes were spectacular! A lot of younger people were in the audience, and were astounded with Lorens performance!
As I am in my 82nd year I have knowledge of many female artists. Have followed Lucy since she appeared on the Voice Kids, and Lucy is without doubt my absolute favorite female singer. She has a such a smooth way of presenting a song. Check out her latest single from Rosie the musical (We can change the World). Great reaction as always.

All the talk about post-production is beating a dead horse. There are some live performances floating around online. Talk to the lucky people who have attended Lucy’s live performances in recent months or anyone who goes to her sold-out show in the Stoller Concert Hall in Manchester in March. As you said..she is the real deal.
So I'll definitely be in Manchester. Lucy Live and then a Meet & Greet, I definitely won't miss that.

Hi Chris. I kind of got an inkling that you hadn't heard the original world wide hit of this song by Procol Harum back in 1967??
Anyway, referencing your comparisons to all the great singers you mentioned, How many of those including the incredible Karen Carpenter, could perform vocals in multi genres i.e. Pop, Rock, Classical Crossover, Jazz, Musical Theatre and probably a few others. Just that aspect of Lucy's talent alone must put her at the TOP of your list.
Going back to this performance. Just brilliant as usual. Come on, have we ever been disappointed with any of her performances, and until next month, still a teenager.

Brilliant reaction video, follow all off Lucy's songs a and Martha they are both faultless. This song is just beautiful, the ballerina fits in perfectly and fills in the musical interludes in the vocals..and like yourself I think Karen Carpenter is my favourite female artist of all time, so that makes both of us old men lol..but Lucy is by far the best female artist I have heard to date
I think that Karen Carpenter had just a bit better voice as I'm sure you might agree to some point, but that's where the list of names that exceed her abilities end IMHO.
I agree entirely I was introduced to Karens voice in prob 1970 when I bought a second hand transistor radio, I was 14...iI still listen to her as my.all time favourite, her voice was pure unique perfection, and probably will never be bettered
Lucy has always had that ability. You need to check out her earlier stuff, just to realise what it is here your dealing with. She was the best there is then. Memory when she was 15 is proof in spades.... her range is on full display, as is her power. The lows and highs are just chills upon chills.

Why was she invited to perform for and with many top artists from aged 10 ? why have so many music experts and multiple grammy winning musicians been so impressed with her ? i'll tell you why because they believe she is a once in a generation talent .some like the crystal clear vocals of lucy others prefer the jazz influenced vocals of angelina.what a boring world if we only had one genre , what a boring world if we all had the same taste .

Larryshair, On these video it is excellent production with the ballarina dancers background ballads performer. she uses her lower registry vocals here seems more than the extraordinary talent. It is very soothing sounds of voice and richness warm-feelings of emotional inspiration's.

Comparisons re not valid. Different singers have their own timbre and skill set. Lucy is way up there but apples and pears Dear Boy.
Lucy is simply No 1 far ahead of those you mentioned Dion Streisand etc and the best since Karen Carpenter.

At first I didn't like this one because while I love this Procol Harum song, and growing up it just got so overplayed and now every reactor always reacts to them as old doing it live rather than listening to the original audio and trying to figure out the context as to why it was so important when it happened. Not that live performance isn't great but it has gotten stale to me and it never was nearly as good as listening to the early stuff.
But about the third time I saw Lucy Thomas do this a couple weeks ago, it just took a hold of me and I realized I really like this interpretation of it I really love it.
And I love to hear her realize that low husky alto and it's not exactly like Patsy Cline?
But it does have that idea of you can be low and husky and still go up and wail much higher.
I haven't realized whether you've done a very recent one, about changing the world. Which of course always makes me think back to Alvin Lee and 10 years after, laugh. But no this is a bit of an Anthem but it's really an important song for right now it seems to me. It's very heartfelt from her.

Couple of points 1) Never talk about Lucy in the same breath as Angelina. Lucy's fans have always labelled her vocals as the reach without the screech. Angelina needs to use to much Vocal gymnastics so will never be in the same class as Lucy. 2) On the original Procul Harem version the track used a new fangled instrument called a synthesised organ 😉🤣 this was replaced on Lucy's version with the bell/Chime sounds in my opinion to replicate the sound of the old Children's Music boxes that had the Ballerina dancing when you opened them, and therefore tying in with the visuals of the Ballerina in Lucy's video.
Hope this doesn't sound as I'm having a go at you because it's not meant to, it's just that Angelina is so overrated. Nice reaction as always for Lucy who yesterday released another track from the forthcoming Musical Rosie, called We can change the world.

Lucy is my favorite but I have always been a major Karen Carpenter fan. I recently discovered Harriet who sounds EXACTLY like Karen. I don't know what it is with all this British talent but is is amazing and makes me so happy to have such talented amazing talent to listen to.
Hi Larry, First of all, I did not see any of the visual glitches that you saw.
Second of all, Karen Carpenter WAS my favorite singer of all time. Lucy (our Earth Angel) has now replaced her as number one in my heart.
This performance was incredible. Sorry, no high note belting, but her lower range is soooo rich and pure.
If you don't do any other reactions, you MUST, MUST, MUST play and react to Lucy's just released original: "WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD".
It makes me cry. And yes, you'll get to hear enjoy high notes belting again.

Karen Carpenter was a great clear voice singer and that’s why many of Karen’s fans follow Lucy. But Lucy has power and excitement and can sing all genres with also a crystal clear voice and clean vocals. So in my book Lucy is better now than the greats you mentioned as you’ve already compared. Nice reaction larry ,as usual another crystal clear vocal performance from lucy . some folks are triggered by the mention of angelina jordan , it happens when names are mentioned on Angelinas reactions also . such is life . i wouldn't be surprised if most artist if not all have been auto tuned for some recordings to some degree . Because Lucy reactions are for Lucy not others. Every main big subscriber reactor with many viewers reacting to Lucy is poached by stealth comments to discuss AJ on Lucy posts. Many have had enough and now don't want to hear about AJ. AJ is a nice young lady so nothing against her or her personally. Just this is Lucy's time. AJ has her own reactions to discuss AJ then and there. Granted this time the reactor brought her in. Probably he knew to raise more comments for his analytics.

I’m wondering, how do you improve on her voice, absolutely every song she sings, she kills it. I haven’t heard one out of tune note on any of her songs.
There are a few habits she does get into of annunciating her words in a way that isn't very clear, but can be chalked up to a choice of style, however, overdoing this can leave an impression of a style that is harder to understand the words of the song. With that exception, I'd be very hard-pressed to think of anything else I could point out that can be observed as any type of flaw.

I don't want to be a Donnie Downer, but there sounds to me like a lot of post production...now the song is such an ethereal dream sequence that it works artistically, but I'm not sure we learned anything new about Lucy's vocals here. I would like to hear the pure vocal track, but we probably never will. It is, however nice to see someone taking on the Procol Harum mantle. This music deserves to live on.
Is she too good to be true? For the non believers out there here is Lucy live at 15 years old.. This is not on her site. This was done at a small fundraising event. Just a crap mic. a backing track, and Lucy. There is no sound crew, no edit, no studio touch up. Give this a listen and let me know. In March see is doing her first large concert. @@tomwhite4736 Tom, surely you dont believe that having a record label infers that you are a good singer, you only have to look at the current state of the charts to see that is patently untrue!, as for musical experts, we all know the old joke about them, "an ex is no longer required and a spert {sic} is a drip under pressure" when i visit a reaction site i have no desire to listen to anything about other artists, but only how the reactor felt about the performance he had just watched.

@@iancave-nu1ff I agree some artists today with record deals are of a poor standard . but imo that's nothing new from the 60s onwards i mo the same was the case then .i recall buying some absolutely rubbish songs and the charts had some dreadful artists , but buying rubbish songs and supporting rubbish artists is a good thing for the music industry , those same people move on with a different taste in music and the artists they support , all good for the music business imo . the state of the music is considered by some as crap , personally i believe that's overplayed there's many good artists in the charts , but. we all have different taste and opinions . as for artists with record deals imo there's many excellent artists in the charts or otherwise Lucy and Angelina included .who have record deals . as for experts in the music business including multiple grammy winning musicians who have expressed their opinions on angelina , they are so numerous and spread of several years , it's difficult to believe they aren't being entirely genuine . when i refer to experts in no way was i including reactors who mostly i believe just say whatever to please subscribers . what we desire we often don't receive , if folks get so triggered by the names of other artists which took just seconds , then they have a choice to subscribe or not . finally i said it would be a boring world if we all had the same taste thankfully we don't.
@@tomwhite4736 So you dont think that being signed to the biggest record label in the world , with their huge PR budgets and equally huge Influence has any bearing on what these so called experts say about a particular artist, given the amount of "you pat my back and ill pat yours" that prevails in the music industry, im sorry but i think that is very naïve!
the point is that i have nothing against Angelina, i can understand that she has a large following. but in my opinion, which by the way im entitled to ,as you are to yours, she does not stand comparison to the greats that the reactor mentioned,

After Angelina went viral after her performances on NGT aged 8 many record labels came calling including disney . all offers were rejected her family wanted angelina to carry attending school in norway and having as normal a childhood as possible , of course she didn't have a normal childhood as she, when education allowed travelled and performed with and for many top artists all over the world .I guess they have some expertise and recognised her talent . she also performed on numerous tv shows in many countries from aged 8 , i guess they believed in her talent also .

I think Loren Allred's original vocal in the film is wonderful, but in my opinion the AGT live version is over the top, it overcooks the song. @@AdrianTrace what I liked about the remarks from the poster is they were respectful to lucy , with a most positive comment on her performance , before making a suggestion to listen to another artist perform a different song , so they were not comparing loren and lucy performing the same song . i had listened to that performance from loren previously so i was pleased to say i agreed with him / her.imo it was awsome .
When you say someone has replaced loren's voice with Lucy to be clear you mean " the official lucy thomas fan club " now thats not just someone is it ? you would not be unduly surprised that a official fan club would be promoting Lucy would you ? so thought I would make that clear to anyone who may be interested .
I get the interest in Angelina Jordan but she has a... what I would consider... a novelty voice. She is definitely very skilled in using and controlling her instrument and her technique is outstanding but her voice is so different it lies too far outside the "normal" for my taste. Like I said I get the appeal but she is not, based on what I have heard from her, on the same level as Lucy when it comes to having a voice that is as attractive or pleasant... so to speak.

Hi Larry. I think this performance was very well done. But I have never seen Lucy not do a very well done performance. You know Larry, Angelina has a very beautiful voice but she doesn’t measure up to Lucy in my opinion. For me she is just to hard to understand with all the extra noises. Just my opinion.
Lucy is more like Karen Carpenter. She just sings with that wonderful voice.
