    Hi Richard. I think I would agree with Stuart for the reasons he gave. Maybe stone blocks (as long as they don't crumble over time) would be better as they will better stand up to the Great British weather!

    If you see a flash of light when building your shed it's just me popping by at the speed of light either going back to the future or forward to the past cause of this dodgy time control switch I bought of a Chinese company ! 😂 😂 👽 ✌ 👍 👍

      Haha! Well, in your expert opinion, do you think that pallets would support the weight of a model railway in a shed,if they were re-enforced? 🤔

    There's nothing wrong with using pallet wood for building a shed I've seen a lot of people doing it right now cause of the price of lumber but saying that if I had some parts of a shed like you do mate then why not try using both where you can like the pallet wood for the flooring and such . Best wishes Alexander . 😁 👷 👍 👍

      Hi Alex! Thanks for the comment! That is a good idea! I will certainly be double checking the shed parts I have, and will salvage whatever I can... If you look at my previous video on how I saved £££ on the current shed, you'll see how focused I am on reusing materials whenever possible! 😉🙂👍💸💸

    you want a base then start to build up the sides half way up of breeze blocks cemented in then add the wood to the rail around the middle of the breeze blocks stop there and make the edge of the roof probably about 6 feet from the ground - lets say 3 feet blocks three feet wood - if you make it a lean to shape 6 feet at the front 5.5 feet at the rear the rain runs off the the fence once the frame is up add the planks veritcal cutting off as you go so the slope is there then make the roof in one piece same idea slope the planks to the rear but kake it larger than the edges of the shed soit drops on in one then you can drill and bolt the edge with 14 coach bolts also work out if you have a door but no windows they let the burglars in double lock system but remember you can cut hinges and open the door the other way so add plenty hinges also with coach bolts then double clad over the hinges them selves so you only see where the pin is in any hinges - if you double clad the wall out side and inside you can insulate it between planks - you can also make it stonger with 2 by 4 wood - around where you make the door use the same idea with wood to make a door stop also drilled into the breaze blocks you could if you wanted use breeze block all around the door apart from the roof would make it stronger and some thing to drill into for safty useing coach bolts again no head on the out side and dont forget to get covering like roofing felt and 200 tacks lol have fun

      Thanks for the suggestion and feedback! Wow, you certainly have given me some great ideas. Would it be possible to maybe send me some sketches of your ideas so I can have a look at it? You can send me an email or drop me a message through one of my social media accounts then I'd love to have a look at it! 👍🤘🏠

    General pallets I would steer clear of, there a tempting cheap/ free source of wood, But theres a reason, it`s not the best quailty wood,there Not rot treated and the last thing you want is a base on poor materials. I was nick named Mr shed by fellow youtubers of my other channel as I have 13 sheds

    • @DarlingbroughModelRailway
      @DarlingbroughModelRailway  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! Thanks for the response! I'm not entirely sure if I wil go down the pallets route or not... If I do, I have a big tub of wood preservative that I can use to treat them... Wow!! 13 sheds?! That's crazy! Are they all model railway related,or do they have other uses? Shed Lyfe! 🤣😂👍

    pallets are not strong enough you can kick them open once up i made a fence out of free pallets that was ok about 25 years ago

    • @DarlingbroughModelRailway
      @DarlingbroughModelRailway  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess if I were to make a shed from pallets, it would depend upon how well I sealed it all, and also how well I treated the wood... Will see how things go, obviously I will be posting updates as I get there... ⛈🤘⚡
