  • I had a great day out on the water this week euro nymphing and was able to find a couple of really nice fish in skinny water. I've been focusing on smaller flies on the euro leader recently. I'd love to know if y'all have tried this much? Thanks!

    Nice vid man. Really appreciate fly fishermen who recognize potential spawning and redds. Such a beautiful river too, a favorite.

    Really enjoy your video's and appreciate all of the effort you put into them. My wife and I live a couple hours east of you and recognize and fish a lot of the same water in your vids. Huge fan of your Shart fly.

    Another nice video!!! My last two trips to our home river wasn’t as good. Rockslide destroyed my car 10 days or so ago and yesterday I clipped a deer. River looked so good yesterday and fish were hungry and chilling in their winter lies. Keep the great content coming!

      Darn. Hope that things turn around a bit and you can get back out on the river

    Congrats on a great day on the water. Fishing here is tough with all the high water conditions from the rain but I also found small flies in deep holes have been working. Should be better when the levels go down. Hare's ear, pheasant tail and the odd streamer. Thanks for sharing.

      High water makes it tough! I'm lucky that my local river stays in pretty good shape year-round.

    Love the T&T, haven't found anything that comes even close and I've tried many. Wind is a bear, eh? I usually resort to throwing an indi on so I can keep fishing. It's not euro nymphing but it works

      Haha, yeah I hate the wind :)

    I've heard that the redbands spawn for several months out of the year. Don't know if it's due to the new temperature regimen upstream, or if they have always done that.

    • @FlyingTies
      @FlyingTies  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I've just heard that it's in the spring but I wonder if it's actually different from that...

    Well,you were right about having a good day...i wanted to examine your line to see the takes but it was alittle blurry ,does your line just stop and you set ?

    • @FlyingTies
      @FlyingTies  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, just watching for any change in direction or movement in the sighter material. I was just using white sighter material so it's a bit hard to see in the video. Thanks for watching!

    Do you feel dirty with a Sage lid and a T&T pole? Well, you should lol
    BTW, I use a Sage ESN line holder on my T&T pole so I guess the fly gods will let you slide

    • @FlyingTies
      @FlyingTies  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha yeah, I’ve payed sage and T&T enough money over the years to mix and match. Plus, they aren’t paying me 😂😂

    At your first spot in the video there is a pretty good sized redds about 100yds upstream. Definitely hard to see it when the water is up. But sometimes at that spot I'll see guys standing in the middle of the river in 6inches of water on the gravel bar SMH

    • @FlyingTies
      @FlyingTies  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, after the second dark fish I figured it had to be the case so I just left to find new water. I don't want to be hurting the fish population or treating them poorly.

    Looks like you were fishing with the Thomas and Thomas Contact II. How do you like it? How does it compare to your ESN?

    • @FlyingTies
      @FlyingTies  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Love it. They are pretty similar rods. Thomas and Thomas is better for fishing lighter weighted nymphs but they are super close
