Installed dual port on WRX2023 today, sounds good - loud and rich PSHHSHH, works correctly in most conditions, boost still the same ~ 13.0 But if you spin engine up at full open throttle then release accelerator pedal and simultaneously engage clutch (PSHHHH) then wait until RPM slowly goes down - engine does not come into idle at 1000RPM and continue slowly come down until full stop (stall) instead. You can prevent engine stop by quickly pressing and releasing accelerator after PSHHH (to force close the valve little bit earlier). In all other conditions BOV works as expected. I think 50/50 dual port is too much, would be good to have an ability to reduce to 25/75 or even 10/90 Lack of BOV fine tune is big disadvantage. probably will play around with it then replace back to stock. PS: Car is bone stock except BOV.
Just installed mine today. I previously put on an ETS Cold Air Intake and I thought that sounded great at first. But then I noticed that right after the Pppsssh sound I would also hear a faint eagle sound for 2 seconds. It was mad annoying and took all the audible pleasure out of the Pppsssh sound to me because that was all I was waiting to hear. I slapped on this Dual Port BOV from TurboSmart and it completely fixed the issue. The Pppsssh sound is much louder and I love it. Previously with just the ETS cold air intake I could only hear turbo noises while the car was under load. With this BOV you can rev the engine in neutral to hear it. I would recommend this to anyone who buys a cold air intake to get one of these. The stock bypass valves spring isn't strong enough to immediately close due to the excess airflow from the ETS intake; that's why I could hear that lingering faint eagle sound. This BOV will fix that. Lastly, I ended up using the stock bolts from my OEM bypass valve because they were shorter and much easier to put in compared to the ones that this BOV comes with. It's a PIA to install by the way. The video makes it seem so easy since they have it up on a lift. This BOV's sides are flared out compared to the OEM bypass valve so be prepared to smash your fingers and contemplate your life choices as you install this, lol. 100% worth it.
How long did the install take you? I definitely noticed the tutorial videos online try to make it look much easier than it is, especially if you're under the car with jack stands. I'm planning to put the Perrin intake with this BOV on my 2023 soon.
@soroushpourmahram4412 After removing the splash guard and the skid plate, it only took me about 15 minutes until I had the OEM bpv removed. However, installing the dual port took me like two hours. I was having issues with the new supplied bolts and eventually ended up just using the OEM bolts. If it wasn't for that issue, it would have probably taken me an hour to install the dual port and have the car buttoned up. But yeah, it took me 2 1/2 hours lol. It would have taken me longer if I never took off the splash guard and skid plate prior to this install but I had already done it once before when installing the ETS intake. If I were you, since you're planning on an intake and this dual port, I'd remove the stock intake first, then remove the OEM BPV, install the Dual Port, and then install the new air intake. Doing it that way would give you a little more room to work when installing the Dual Port.
Installed mine after I decided to remove the ETS intake (knock coming into boost) The Kompact Dual Port sounds amazing and the car feels crisper if that makes sense. Sounds fantastic and no issues with the tune.- currently monitoring with Cobb AP.
All the comments about the car stalling and turbo smart havent replied, there’s a lot of videos explaining why to not purchase as well personal experience, after install I had the same issue as soon as it was installed, proof of driving 8000kms then installing and issue is caused, straight away brought to Subaru and they’ve concluded that this is the issue and now we’ve wasted a few hundred dollars.
From a quick search, we only found one other comment asking about stalling which was addressed. Forgive us for the delayed response as we do not monitor our TH-cam channel as frequently as our other Social Media. Most stalling issues that have been brought to our attention have been due to installation error (Typically the o-ring seal falls out of place when being mounted to the turbo allowing a leak). If any customers feel that their valve might be defective in any way then we are always happy to inspect it under warranty. Feel free to reach out to us.
Heyo, just installed and took the car out for a little test drive. Post install peak boost dropped from ~13.2 to 12 on the dot. Obviously there is a ton of variables here. But what’re the odds there’s a small boost leak from when I reseated everything. Thanks!
Whether your warranty is honored is solely up to your vehicles manufacturer. We fundamentally do not see a valid reason why it would in any way void a vehicle warranty but we always recommend checking with your specific vehicle's manufacturer. That being said, our Kompact EM valve is a significant improvement over the factory bypass valve. Our valve is much more durable, offers improved response, and significantly improves boost handling compared to the factory plastic valves found on these vehicles. In short, its going to do a much better job sealing and keep your boost controlled 👍
It is very likely that it will fit but we have not personally done so to give an official YES. If you choose to install it then that is at your discretion.
I just installed a dual port on my 2023 WRX and it only makes noise when the revs go up to 5000. why can't I hear the pshh just by revving the engine with the car stopped like in this video?
I'm having the same issue. At wide open throttle shifts. My traction control, battery, oil and check engine light comes on then goes off. Car has less than 1000 miles and this started on the drive home after installing this BOV. What did you end up doing?
Assuming you all figured it out by now but it's because you got the dual port instead of the plumbback the dual doesn't recirculation enough air causing stall
Just installed this on my 23 wrx. Car has 800 miles on it and randomly the traction control light will flash and stop. Or traction control, battery, oil, check engine lights come on then go away in like 5 seconds. Mechanic checked for codes and nothing shows. Anyone else having this issue?
Yes Turbosmart released a dual port but I wouldn't recommend any vent to atmosphere bypass valve on the car currently. The car only offers a MAF tune and releasing any air that doesn't go back into the intake can cause the A/F to swing. The model that circulates all the air is currently ideally the best option as well as still plenty loud with an intake. We have to wait for Cobb to release a speed density tuning option in order to make this safe. Will dual port work short term? Yes, but in the long term you maybe crying on Reddit your engine blew.
Please do not spread misinformation. The Dual Port is specifically designed to work on OE applications. The Dual Port design will recirculate 50% of the pressure back to the intake to satisfy OE parameters and the other 50% will vent to atmosphere. We aren't dealing with technology from the late 90's and early 2000's. We test these products on these applications to ensure that they will not harm the vehicle.
Yes, the Plumb Back recirculates the air like the OE valve does and the Dual Port partially vents to the atmosphere giving you an audible blow off noise.
Without context to what CEL was thrown it is difficult to give you an explanation. Assuming that the valve was installed properly you should not get any CEL's.
Yes, installed my Plumback today on my '20 and it's definitely more efficient than factory! I will say though, without an intake, it is actually quieter than factory because it doesn't linger. If you're looking for sound, go dual port.
The same. The amount of pressure in the charge pipe system will effect the audible sound, an intake system does not change your pressure, something like a wastegate or tune will.
Either is fine as this does not require a tune. It comes down to your preference on if you want to hear the blow off noise or if you want it to remain silent.
Plumb Back will recirculate all the air resulting in silent or similarly to the OE valve. Dual Port both recirculates air and vents it to the atmosphere giving you a blow off noise. There is no noticeable performance difference between the two so it would come down to your preference to hear the blow off noise.
@@Megaomen12 if you went 100% recirculating. Then you will hear little to no blow off sound. If you went 50/50. You will hear blow off sound and 50% of it will return to the intake.

You removed intake ? Did you have a tune for intake?
@@yankpr1 Yes, I now have the Drunkmann 93 OTS tune for ETS Intake.
Did you have it tune?
Lol I answer before I read my question is do you still have the intake off or put it back on after drunk man tune
Hi
I just installed my one. It is not an easy job. But in the end, it is worth doing.😊
That IAG car is everywhere...they must be doing something right.
Does this require a tune? Any fault codes or data logging that shows its safe to run on the VB chassis?
No tune is required to run our Kompact EM series. This unit utilizes OE integration making it plug and play.

Hi there please see other comments in this section, there’s four others clearly stating the same issue
Is the engine and tune stock in this video beside the valve?
I'm looking forward to getting one now. I have an unrelated question though. What brake kit do you guys have on the car? It looks really nice.
We arent completely certain, but they look to be Alcon brakes

I doubt you have a leak- since the Turbosmart opens and closes more efficiently it reduces overboost, which are numbers higher than 12.0 on the VB.
Could this void the warranty?
Does this hamper performance?

A tune is not required to run our Kompact EM.
Has anyone had motor issues with this? I love the sound and am thinking about installing it. Any advice/heads up?

The valve is designed to work with both factory tunes and aftermarket tunes. Your motor should not have any issues using this.

So can I install this in a completely stock 23 wrx ?
Yes, this can be installed on completely stock applications with no tune required.

Plum back is 100% back to intake. No atmosphere
