Simplicity 9700 was a favorite of mine. I made it in red for a first date with my now husband in 1978. He mentioned this outfit in his wedding vows. When he tells the story of when he fell in love, he mentions this jumpsuit. We just celebrated our 55th anniversary, and I secretly made this jumpsuit again in red for our date. His jaw hit the floor again!
Huge pattern haul! How do you store your patterns? Do you file them in a particular way? Love the Mother’s Day fabrics, look forward to seeing those made up. Happy sewing 🪡
Thanks so much! & I wish I had a good answer for you but right now the pattern storage is rough LOL. I have another 6 small bins on bookshelves some in boxes (organized) in the garage and others that are homeless 😆
Hi I have a skirt that looks like 8389 and like you I am fuller at top. You CAN totally ROCK IT! I know I do. Thanks for making such fantastic videos! Love watching you!😍
The S9744 would be perfect for a thrifted bedsheet set. If you find a matching fitted and flat sheet set and remove the elastic, it would work. I just bought the KnowMe Lydia Naomi pattern, and I’m excited to make it. Aaronica is giving us curvy girls what we need!!! And that Beauté J’adore dress is lovely! I need that wave set… Let me go get it. It’s perfect for spring/summer.
It really is and your spot on for s9744. I think I have a few king sheets in the stash or at least on matching sheet set. Didn’t think of that so thanks!! I’m going to give it a look tonight 🥰
I can so see the bathing suit in a polka dot. Red and white ala Minnie Mouse? Brown and white ala Julia Roberts? Yellow and white cuz it would look so fresh? Can't wait to see what you sew!
Great pattern haul! I, too, was lured by the McCalls skirt M8389 and the Jiffy wrap dress. I'm not sure the Jiffy wrap dress will look the best on me, but I have some fabric that I don't know what else to do with, so I'm going to give it a try! At least (in the case of the Jiffy pattern) it's mostly a huge square and I'll be able to reuse the fabric if it doesn't work out. :D Your daughter's choice of fabric for you is so pretty! It reminds me of will-o-whisps!
I feel the same about the jiffy dress!! I just don't know but I'm so drawn to the envelope art. UGH!! LOL, thanks by the way. She has a good eye for what I wouldn't go for but still might love.
I love a good Jiffy pattern but I just don't sew them as much. I need to get on the Know Me pattern haul. I don't have one of those patterns yet! Great video and haul. Happy sewing friend! ❤
I enjoyed this video as I always do! Especially the floral fabrics....But I was wondering if you could tell me when Know Me patterns go on sale, if ever?
Hey Elaine, thanks so much for watching!! & yes of course, even if not advertised @ Joann's they're just about always on sale with the McCall's patterns.
@@thecuratedcurvy I think you should do whatever you feel is best, we're going to watch regardless. For what it's worth, it's a great intro. Having the intro makes your videos feel both polished and accessible, in my opinion.
I usually buy them printed at Joann's. I've heard not so good stories the Big 4's pdf patterns. But I've also heard they're working on it so that may be getting better.
Thank you for your channel! Do you know if there is s set time that patterns are on sale at JOAnn? I seems to get there at the end of a sale and…my size is gone! I’ve asked at the store, but they are all shoulder shrugs. Something to do with the actual pattern company?idk, do you? Thanks!
Hey there! They're sale schedule is usually Friday - Sunday. And they usually pair the following companies: McCall's and Know Me, Butterick & Vogue & Simplicity by itself. But if you can you want to get there Friday because that's usually when it starts!
So, let's talk about the the Beaute' J'adore ME2016 pattern. I am making this dress as I post this meesage. I am also taking a Level II sewing class and my instructor and I had some serious issues with the final measurements for this pattern. So, I am curious to see the result of you sewing this dress pattern. The measurements for the bust were incorrect. Luckily, I cut the pattern using a muslin. I had to add two inches to the shoulders and the sides of the pattern to get the bodice to fit properly. I don't think the pattern is friendly to "bustier" women and some tailoring may be needed to get the right fit. It's kind of a weird pattern as well. I don't like the slight curve at the waist. I have never sewn a pattern such as this. The good thing is she has a sew along that goes with the pattern and it is available on TH-cam, but she is sewing dark fabric so it's difficult to see the steps. This entire experience with this particular pattern has been a complete mess. I am so thankful that I did not cut my expensive Mood fabric.
Girl you just about 'done scared me off LOL. I already had apprehensions about the shaping of the dress and it looks like it would be quite the time investment to not come out with a wearable garment... Thanks for the tips!

That Bustier is soooo beautiful!
Great pattern choices! My favorites are the Know Me collection. Love the gifted materials as well.
The Know Me Pattern releases are just getting better and better!
ohhh my goodness! 2 miles away! 🪡
It's a problem LOL.
Love the swimsuit pattern!
Nice haul
This was so fun to see everything you picked up! Particularly in love with Know Me 2033, definitely popping that on my wishlist.
It's such cool idea, I keep staring at it then chickening out because I know those lines are going to be tricky!
One yard wonders. I like the idea of that. You picked some good stuff.
Thanks! & same, it's such a useful concept.
Getting fabric for mother's day was sweet 😊
It really is! It's also my most favorite gift to receive 😆😄

Thank you! I needed to hear this because I want to make it so badly but I needed to know it works for us curvy ladies 👏🏾👏🏾😊
M8389...do it, do it, do it!!! 🙂 Enjoyed your haul.
I’m thinking I just might, these comments are hyping me up 😆😊
You blouse is adorable
Thanks! It’s the Ophelia dress by thrills and stitches as a top hack 😊

Enjoyed your fabric haul and definitely love your top.
Thanks so much, Karon. I'm excited to make some plans for them.
The pants by Aaronica and Me are adorable
I'm really excited about those!
Great pattern picks and those fabrics are gorgeous, can't wait to see them made up! Any chance you can share where those rayon fabrics are from?
Yes! It’s a place called Wherehouse Fabrics in Dallas, Texas. I believe they have a website but I’m not 100% sure 😊
Thank you!

You do need to hop on the know me patterns! They're all so unique! Same with Jiffy patterns, I keep buying them and have yet to sew any LOL!
Did your husband pick out those fabrics himself? How thoughtful! (And he did a good job.)
Haha nope, he was the driver and the purchaser 😆
@@thecuratedcurvy hey, that works, too!

That intro statement is going faster and faster, lol. I live through your pattern hauls, there is no Joann Fabrics near me 🫠.
😆😆 it is! I go back and forth between saying it and not so my natural reaction is to speed through it LOL

@@thecuratedcurvy Aww, don't give up. It may be easier for you, but we measured it twice and the Muslin finally fits after the adjustments.
I have a question why do you talk so fast?
I honestly don’t know how to answer this question… because I do?
