My interpretation of the song, is that it's not specifically about soldiers, or war, but rather about those who have the capability to stand and protect who and what they love doing so. Not standing down to the threats that promise to destroy what they love and want to protect.
BloodySteel64 beautiful I agree wholeheartedly. This is especially appropriate to the responsible citizen that stands up for what the country's original values and purpose was. If that in itself is not good, then it would still be the duty for said responsible citizen to fight in whatever way possible in order to allow for the country to become as prosperous and fair as possible, to the extent of not interfering with the rights of others. People need to give the National Guard more credit. I mean hell most states would be fucked in a major disaster without them, and in the case of the president breaking the constitution and there being forced military action against the compromised state, it's the National Guard that fights for the people. They're the state militia.
I hadn't known of the struggles. I do apologize, humbly. I really did feel this song on my level. I just didn't have any business stereotyping the branches of military all about some bad blood or isolated incidents. They do what they are told at any rate. The fact that I have become misconstrued is the real travesty, although I do believe that people like you boys, responding so mildly and matter of fact about your truth, is heroic in and of itself. I find this to be a good deed. Thanks for speaking up. I mean it.
jamiiis2325 They're legally the only ones who could protect the states with combative measures should a corrupt government that puts the constitution at risk becomes the main power of the land. Also the only military force legally allowed to be deployed on American soil barring a complete foreign invasion.

And what does that mean? I'm interested in such things. I'm a soldier too, but we use something like "Schweres Pionierbataillon 901" and the name and rank of the soldier for the identifier.
Thank you for all the men and women who put their lives on the line to give us a future, you guys go through hell to protect what you believe in and die trying that is what a true hero is all about, putting the mission and protecting people who are hurt and defenseless first and don’t give a second thought about it, most people take that for granted, y’all literally give up everything for your country and the people who call it home, and the ones who lost their live in the heat of battle deserve just as much respect as the one’s who do make it home. Thank you to any veterans or any service members in the comments and in general and to the fallen heroes.
And I’m the kind of person to put the ones I care about before myself, I would go through hell and fight for them to my dying breath, if you threaten or try to hurt my family or friends, I don’t mess around, I made a promise without them even knowing, “ to all the ones I love and care about I will defend and fight for you even if it means I would die and I wouldn’t give a second thought about it, all that matters is that you are safe and happy, I won’t be satisfied until that is the case, I take these words to my dying breath, no more no less”
Then again that would increase wars because the militarys commanders are tecnically soldiers. The wars wouldnt still end but more soldiers means more people to use in em
The term citizen-soldier is specifically about civilians who are armed and prepared to repel an invasion and overthrow a tyrant! I'd interpret the song as a civilian soldier singing to a military soldier - especially with lines like 'On that day when you need your brothers and sisters to care/ I'll be right here'
0:52 "Hang on, hang on. Hey homie! You don't hit a woman. You just pushed a woman out of the way to get in a fight, you d---. Get him the hell out of here! Somebody come over here and beat his a--."
everyone is right here. If you are a soldier are you not someone who is willing to stand up for what you Believe in? whether that be freedom, peace, or your way of life. The same go's for those who aren't soldiers. this could be pro gun or anti gun activists, animal activists, and many more. most of witch is everyday people. it doesn't matter where you go, you will always find someone that this song sings about. everyone on earth is willing to stand up for something they Believe in. so, this song is about everyone in the moment that means the most for them to stand up and be heard to help make this world a better place.
To all 2020-2021 healthcare workers you are all citizen soldiers on the front lines fighting the war against Covid-19 may God strengthen you in your battles ahead.

I mean it.
Yup. National Guard fights for the states. They're the only branch of Military not directly controllable by commander in chief
jamiiis2325 They're legally the only ones who could protect the states with combative measures should a corrupt government that puts the constitution at risk becomes the main power of the land. Also the only military force legally allowed to be deployed on American soil barring a complete foreign invasion.
i agree... coming from a future soldier

My brother has 31 years in the Vermont natniol guard and I'm very pround he was deployed in 2003 /4
Nice job I really like the video
When everybody on earth would be a soldier, this would be a peacefull place. Because soldiers now how bad war is!
Then again that would increase wars because the militarys commanders are tecnically soldiers. The wars wouldnt still end but more soldiers means more people to use in em
"They may take our lives..... But they will never take .... Our FREEDOM!!!!" - some really strong Scottish guy( William Wallace)
love this song!!!!
Kadentheassassin who doesn't
Citizen soldier is a perfect anthem for the dragon warriors in my comics it just described them so perfectly
We need more "citizen" soliders in 2018 America!!
We need them more than ever now. We have communists in our country I,think we need to fight on the inside as well as outside.
The term citizen-soldier is specifically about civilians who are armed and prepared to repel an invasion and overthrow a tyrant! I'd interpret the song as a civilian soldier singing to a military soldier - especially with lines like
'On that day when you need your brothers and sisters to care/
I'll be right here'
this could be used for police, fire fighters, and EMS, and even a select few non corrupt militias as well as the national guard
Really well done, and thank you for the tribute at the beginning. :)
This is the song that made me commit to joining the National Guard. Finishing AIT soon. 😁
I’m proud of u brother or sister u do great things now
hadn't thought about this song in years but, with all that's been going on with the guard well, it just seened very relevant again
An anthem for all armed forces, blue light services and corrections 💪
thanks to my man whos in the army i love him so much
Am I the only one who’s getting Breaking Benjamin vibes from this?
One of my favorite songs. Nicely done with the background and lyrics. :)

"Hang on, hang on. Hey homie! You don't hit a woman. You just pushed a woman out of the way to get in a fight, you d---. Get him the hell out of here! Somebody come over here and beat his a--."
smartboy201 i seen the video lol much funnier
everyone is right here.
I'd like to see an XCOM AMV of this song.
I hope you understand that this isn't for military, but it's for the everyday heroes that work in thier communities to hold them together.
Great song, and God bless our troops, be they active, off-duty, retired, and deceased or missing-in-action.
To all 2020-2021 healthcare workers you are all citizen soldiers on the front lines fighting the war against Covid-19 may God strengthen you in your battles ahead.
