- Disney Cruise Line’s Castaway Cay is a highlight exclusively for guests on Disney’s Bahamas & Caribbean itineraries. Located near Great Abaco Island, this private destination was leased from the Bahamian government in 1997 and expires in 2096. While the island is 1,000 acres, Disney only utilizes around six percent for their operation. There’s no mistaking the fact you’re on a Disney island as the theming, cleanliness and friendly cast members are really an extension of what you see onboard and at Disney resorts.

One more question: if the Disney "Atlantis package" is sold out, can we just get off the ship and make our way to Atlantis ourselves and buy a day pass there?
Hi Jenny, I would not advise to wait until the day of your arrival as the number of day passes for non Atlantis guests is capped. You can check into purchasing the day pass directly from Atlantis (details on their website). Alternatively, you can look at booking a 1 night stay at the Comfort Suites Paradise Island, as they provide complimentary passes for their guests to Atlantis. There are some restrictions, so inquire with them directly.

Do rentals need to be reserved ahead of time or can they be done there? What about excursions such as parasailing or the banana boat? Thanks for such an informative video!
Hinobodyspecial1919, thanks for watching. Most Castaway Cay activities can be purchased on the island without an issue. Excursions may be limited, so it is a good idea to book ahead of time and definitely pre-book the Beach Cabanas, they are almost never available.

Hi Adam, thanks for watching. If you are comparing Castaway Cay to say Royal Caribbean's Perfect Day at CocoCay, then yes, CocoCay wins in that regard. Castaway Cay is still very nice though.
@@TalkingCruise actually i was reffering to the idea that nothing mentioned here..is any different than something you can find on any city that has a body of water near it..there is nothing disney other than characters..
Why would i pay 1000s of dollars to go to that cay
