I genuinely love how the units in this game are more than just generic RTS units, they feel real and alive the way they talk amongst themselves and shout and panic when the fighting gets chaotic. Really immersive in a way no other RTS is.

Besides how good the music is, I have to say the mustachioed guy lighting a cigar out in the cold Russian winter adds so much flavor to the whole image.

The chirping of the birds, the calm *AFTER* the storm, the chilling music reminds you of your dead teammates and countless times you stared death in the face, followed with a victorious choir and march to symbolises your hopes of winning and returning home alive; and ended with sad sorrow music again, as you come to realise you'll have to survive to get there.

One of the best game soundtracks and conveys the suffering and loss of the eastern front very well
In contrast to the first part of CoH where the music was a kind of anger, fear, and severity, the second part CoH passed all the pain, suffering and cruelty of the war on the Eastern Front.

before saying that the great evil on the world is USSR remember USA suported multiple dictatorishps across central and south america during the cold war (That make USA... a minor evil close the major evil ) and BTW the campaing game is completely innacurate about soviets on WW2 everything you see is commander doing warcrimes like machinegun/burn his own troops and soldiers whining about needing to fight...

I just played my first battle and I have to say the game just improved on an already amazing game!

Zero Dislikes. This is what I call a faithful community. Also, regarding the picture, I did learn in my military service you should never open up a lighter in the middle of nowhere in times of war. Fire is visible from a mile long, if not more.

Unfortunate how that will NEVER happen no matter how hard you try. There will always be a group who wants everything and they are not afraid to take it by force. Whether it be money, land, or just for "religious" purposes (Islamic State). I am sorry to tell you this, but have hope that one day war will be a distant memory on how humanity used to be greedy.

Saw a lot of folks in the Internet saying things like "Stalin was much worse than Hitler!" and decided to mention something.
I think people are misunderstanding the difference between Eastern and Western Front.
Allies on the Western Front, to put it bluntly, fought to "win the war". To stop Nazis from invading their homeland, to preserve freedom and happiness. That's a noble cause, and I can sympathise with it wholeheartedly. The warfare wasn't pretty, but more or less decent (if you even can .
The Eastern Front had "survival" as the main theme. The people fought because they had no choice as defeat meant slavery and death. The Nazi propaganda declared all Slavic nations subhuman an not worthy of human rights. This lead to adopting the "avenge the suffering of our people with German blood" by Red Army. There were almost no rules of war on both sides. Please consider that before starting another "Red Butchers" discussion.
Thank you kindly for your attention/complete lack of it. Please excuse this Russian for his mangled English, and if you have that peculiar need to free the world from Russian Menace, please seek the nearest Waffen-SS recruiting centre, because your hateful comments don't kill Russians.
In some russian villages Wehrmacht soldiers were greeted as liberators. That alone is an example how much Stalin was a fucked up man.
