The 3DS is my favourite! I’m actually surprised you didn’t get into it as much. And I have to laugh at you losing your games! Dude! Store your games when you’re done with them! 😂
Games I recommend are: *Luigi's mansion 1 & 2 *Mario 3d land *Donkey Kong country returns *Link between worlds(or any other zelda game really) *kirby triple deluxe *bravely default *the fire emblem series *monster hunter 4 ultimate I don't get a chance to play my 3ds much with all my other consoles but when I do, I really enjoy it. Keep up the great content reggie
I play my 3DS way more than anything else right now. Persona Q 1 and 2, Etrian Odyssey and Shin Megami Tensei 4 and Strange Journey are incredible games.
Sonic Generations and that amazing Zelda themed 3DS is what made me cave. I really can't think of too many games that really grabbed me outside of the standard Nintendo stuff... Ever Oasis and Fantasy Life were pretty great for a bit of time if you haven't played those.
I love my 3DS! It's stupid I wasn't into 3D before buying and now I think 3D adds something. Pilot Wings, Mario 3D Land and Pac Man Championship Edition are my faves.
Man you are missing so many amazing ones! Here's a bunch I'd highly suggest. - kid icarus uprising - rhythm thief and the emperors treasure - ridge racer 3d - bravely default series - zero escape series - professor layton series - metroid samus returns - Luigi's mansion dark moon - etrian odyssey series - rune factory 4 - re mercenaries 3d - liberation maiden and whole guild series of games - ace attorney series (all games are on it) - persona q shadow of the labyrinth - monster hunter 4 - tom Clancy ghost recon shadow wars - fire emblem awakening And many more! Some great eshop gems too
The 3DS is amazing, it's my favorite portable console and the fact that it can play DS games too makes it that much better ! BUT the fact that it's region locked is a huuuuuge bummer for me. Big BIG problem that one. For games, try the Etrian Odyssey games, Bravely Default, Shin Megami Tensei IV, the remakes of Devil Survivor 1 and 2, Story of Seasons, Fantasy Life and sooooo many other games.
3DS is one of my favorite consoles to play and collect for. With the 3DS games and NDS Games, no shortage of awesomeness. Here are a few of my favorites that you do not have. 7th Dragon III COde: VFO, Alliance Alive, Ever Oasis, Lord of Magna: Madien Heavy, Metroid Samus Returns, Persona Q & Q2, Shin Megami Tensei IV (or any SMT games. most are NDS remakes), Zero Time Dilemma
And bad thing however are the battles now run at a reduced 30 fps compared to 60 on the ps2. I didn't even notice that until trying the ps2 version after already beating the 3ds version first years ago.
The 3DS/DS is probably my 2nd...no 3rd favorite to collect for. Tons of awesome special edition releases for the handhelds, great games. Great little system. Games to grab - Fire Emblem - Bravely Default - Persona Q & Q2. Good luck in your hunt dude.
I love dedicated handhelds and I love the Nintendo 3DS!! I hope that Nintendo considers making a successor to the N3DS at some point in the future. I will miss the dual screen, STREETPASS/SPOTPASS, and clamp-shell design. In the meantime, I still continue to enjoy games like FANTASY LIFE/STELLA GLOW/MARIO KART 7/FIRE EMBLEM: AWAKENING/MONSTER HUNTER 4: ULTIMATE. On another note Reggie, the Nintendo 3DS is not a “slight upgrade” from the Nintendo DS! The N3DS can do so much more. It is a huge upgrade from the NDS. Both handhelds are good, but the N3DS is leaps and bounds beyond the NDS and the Nintendo DSi. The only thing the DS has that is superior is their library of games. I believe the NDS cover just about every genre.
TheGameGuy Advance - Cool! I own well over 85 games for the Nintendo 3DS. Love the system and still play Fantasy Life/Monster Hunter 4: Ultimate. Occasionally, I play Stella Glow and Mario Kart 7.
SSB, mario kart, kid ikarus, animal crossing new leaf, monster hunter generations, dead or alive, chibi robot, super mario 3d land, warioware gold, rhythm heaven megamix, etc.... those were my fav games.
Pick up animal crossing a new leaf, Zelda Ocarina of times, Fantasy life, Zelda a link between worlds, Metroid 2, Mario land 3D, Zelda Majorca mask, Monster hunter 4, fire emblem awaking, Ever Oasis, bravely Default I would recommend.
You have to get a cartridge case for your console Reggie or a carrying case that includes one. I like Kid Ikarus a lot Metroid Samus Returns, Dragon Quest VII, Héroes of Ruin, Fantasy Life, EverOasis, Bravely Default, and Fire Emblem Awakening. I didn't buy the console until the New 3DS XL came out. I love it though and have a New 3DS and 2DS as well.
The first one you definitely need to pick up: Zelda Link between Worlds, Mario 3D Land, Persona Q2, Mario Kart 3DS, Luigi's Mansion 2 + 1, Fire Emblem Awakening + Revelations. And Metroid of course! My favorites: Zelda, Mario 3D and Luigi. These are quick pick up and plays, while the others titles tend to drag a bit.
I still play with my 3RD too. I was able to get Dragon Quest VII for $20. There are plenty of good games out there that are unique like that crime novel type game called Again. What made me buy the DS was Contra 4 and what made me buy the 3DS was Zelda Majoras Mask and Ocarina of Time.
Stella Glow is probably in my top 10 for the 3ds. Absolutely loved the game. A shame the developers went under before the north american release even finished. I'm also super jealous you have the limited edition/day one version of the game. It did have 2 prints, and as far as I know only 2. The second print was just the normal jewel case version, and that's when I ended up buying it.
I work a 10 hour job with tons of down time, so my Vita & 3ds get a ton of use. I’ve got well over 200 things to play on Vita, but still need to build up my 3ds library, trying to use the eshop as much as I can so I don’t have to carry a bunch of those cards I can potentially lose. Working on Phoenix Wright trilogy right now.
Spirit Camera The Cursed Memoir. That game is so underrated. It's pretty much a Fatal Frame game, but it uses AR. It's so good. Only problem is that it's really short, but in my opinion, that game has the best use of AR on 3DS. Highly recommend that game. That and Kid Icarus Uprising.
Months ago I bought the SNES edition for the 3DS and came with mario kart and downloaded Super Mario Bros on it too and still enjoy the games for them as well
The 3ds is awesome i have resident evil revelations, metroid, castlevania, shinobi, avengers movie lego game, chronicles samurai warrior, heroes of ruin zelda ocarina of time, and luigis mansion 2, so many good games on it. I always get 2nd hand games and usually at a good price as well.
Cmon Reggie! No Fire Emblem Awakening, Metroid Samus Returns, A Link Between Worlds, Mario 3 d Land?! Man... I think you should as soon as possible dedicate more to this little guy, there are so many great games!! Oh, and I noticed you like strategy RPGs, and the 3ds has some great games such as Transformers Rise of the Dark Spark, Tom Clancys Ghost Recon and Batleship to name a few.
All (physical games) you need are: Xenoblade 3D, River City Tokyo Rumble, Dragon Ball Fusions, Dragon Ball Extreme Butoden, Majora's Mask 3D, Ocarina of Time 3D, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse, Yokai Watch, Yokai Watch 3, Pokemon Omega Ruby, Hey Pikmin!, LBX, DQ VII, and DQ VIII
Since you like lots of anime inspired games Reggie, please try importing Dusk Diver Day One Edition(comes with artbook amongst other things) if you haven't yet. The game is a mismash of Persona and the Dynasty Warriors series.
I don’t have a 3ds but last minute thing last year I said what the hell I’ll spring for a 2ds being it’s a good price.. I then discovered a few titles I can’t quite envision myself without such as Stella Glow and Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology.. Not to mention Fire Emblem Awakening..
My love affair with the 3ds is still going strong. Metroid Samus Returns , both River City games , Kid Icarus , Bravely Default , the puzzle platformers Mario vs. Donkey Kong series are all 3DS must owns IMO. The entire Sega Classic Collections Series of games that are all remastered in retina blowing 3D by the cats at M2 are definite buys as well. More 3DS vids please ;-)
Tales of the Abyss was a big selling point for me, it was a game I'd always wanted to play but couldn't as the ps2 version wasn't released in Europe. I think it's the only version of the game that was released over here. Didn't know it had content removed though.
Thanks for recommending blazblue and sonic generations, i did not have those games in my collection yet. Unfortunatly code of princess did not get a pal release. :(
For me, the 3DS is great for turn-based RPGs. I noticed you didn't have Bravely Default (and Second) so look into those. My problem with 3DS is action/ non RPGs because I can't get a good grip on the system. Ocarina of Time is great but my thumb slips of the stick so I have to play the game more slowly than the console versions. Also consider games that use the stylus. Pocket Card Jockey is so addictive. Totally worth the $6 even though it's an eShop only game.
HAHA I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE OCARINA OF TIME SO I GOT A GRIP FOR MY 3DS AND IT MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE..MAKES PLAYING THE GAME MORE COMFORTABLE, I'D SUGGEST U GET A GRIP FOR YOURS...CHECK EBAY YOU CAN FIND THEM FOR A REASONABLE PRICE...GOT MINE FOR $11.99 FREE SHIPPING..CAME FROM CHINA BRAND NEW IN BOX AND IT ARRIVED PRETTY FAST!!..🎮🕹
I never had a 3DS, but the thing that still irks me is how Mega Man Legends 3 was supposed to come out on it, but Capcom canceled it. I suppose now we have a better chance at seeing this actually come out, but only if Capcom makes a Mega Man Legends Legacy Collection first and includes Mega Man Legends, Mega Man Legends 2, and Misadventure of Tron Bonne first. I'm sure we'll probably see a collection like that on PS4 & Switch sooner or later. Mega Man is very popular and profitable for Capcom these days, so it just makes sense to do so. Then afterwards, I think we'll _finally_ get Mega Man Legends 3. I also remember when Resident Evil Revelations came out on the 3DS and thought it sucked it wasn't on a PlayStation console. I'm glad that changed and now it's on the PS4. I think it'd be nice if we got a remaster version of Tales of The Abyss for PS4 & Switch as well. Castlevania Mirrors of Fate is another one of those games that was exclusive to 3DS and then got remastered in HD to PS3. You know, I'm surprised Konami hasn't done a collection of the _Lord of Shadows_ games on PS4 and Switch. Hopefully that also comes soon. Project X Zone is actually pronounced 'Project Cross Zone'. Star Fox... I'm surprised Nintendo isn't doing more with the Star Fox franchise on Switch.
I always recommend fantasy life. I looks like a cute kids game, but man this game is awesome. I spent so many hours playing through this game and the different lifes/jobs. It is just so much fun.
@@srod6396 Really? I guess it depends on where you live. Here in Germany you can get it from amazon for ~25€. Same price at gamestop. It is worth searching for.
@@otterlydorky i live in the Pacific northwest of the u.s. Nintendo of america is one state away from me and i have been looking for fantasy life for like 4 yrs now lol 😆

my fiancee and i both are gamers and divide our time evenly between our systems, i never played handhelds before until 1 1/2 years ago when she got me a 2 DS XL to play on so we could game together while she plays on her 3DS . so far our collection is (this is not including DS, just 3DS ..and also note she has way more games then me lmao) Mine = Alliance Alive, Need For Speed Own the City, Persona Q2, Pet Zombie, Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology, Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party, Shante & the Pirate's Curse, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overlocked, Shin Megami Tensei IV Apocalypse, Young Justice Hers = Ever Oasis, Fantasy Life, Funky Barn, Harvest Moon 3D: The Tale of Two Towns, Harvest Moon: Skytree VIllage, Harvest Moon: A New Beginning, Hometown Story, The Legend of Zelda, Monster Hunter Stories, Pokemon Alpha Sapphire , PokemonMoon, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Pokemon Omega Ruby, Pokemon Sun, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, Pokemon Ultra Sun, Pokemon X, Return to PopoloCrois Story of Seasons, Rune Factory 4, Story of Seasons Trio of Towns, Story of Seasons, Ours = Fire Emblem Echos: Shadows of Valentia , Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright, Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon, Fire Emblem Warriors
If you can be patient and save up for the Nintendo switch lite..I'm telling you as a traveling nurse I can relate to having little or no time for yourself...for the most part and having to experience a new console with a huge variety of games for hardcore to casual gamers....I fall in between that gap... I like a good platformer that is easy to pick up yet challenging to enjoy( overcooked 2 and luckys tale to name two good ones). So definitely wait and get a switch lite. It was worth the wait, saving and purchase
@@erroldunn5947 thanx 4 the reply, it is very tempting and this might b a stupid question being a 1st time dad i feel like its wasteful spending that money on videogames instead of more stuff for the baby but i mean its normal right??
@@keepmymindpreoccupied2892 it's normal to still want things for yourself, I respectfully have to say your personal wants or desires in life doesnt end when you have children. I have two nephews...I can understand to a certain extent how you feel you want them to have the world and yourself to have the rest of the bits lol. I grew up raising children in my family so I know what that's like, but I also know that there are times when I do have to pamper myself and take care of myself...and I just so happen to enjoy taking every now and then. With the nintendo switch lite, I'm able to balance both worlds well and still kick some bowser ass when I feel like it 😂👍🏾. I used to play a lot back then, so I dont play house consoles anymore( I kept my ps2 for nostalgia and I will eventually get back to it as I've recently been purchasing some other retro favorites)...so in conclusion my dear friend 😊...GET IT, trust me, this console is versatile, fun...nothing else to say...its Nintendo.
I just wanna say thanks reggie you and another youtuber have inspired me to rebuild my current gen collection. Lately i haven't had the motorviation to collect games but now i have that Spark again. Last gen i had a collection over 500 games between Ps3/Xbox360. This gen im trying to double that with 1,000 games space pending of course. of my favorite games. Any tips for a new collecter ?
currently playing Ocarina of Time on my 3ds. never played it before. I’m having a blast but i get really confused at times lol have to look up walkthroughs😩😂
Only reason I bought a 3ds was because Kingdom Hearts was released on it and I only bought a few games on it I bought Mario Kart 7,Super Smash Brothers 4,Super Mario 3d land,Pokemon X and I have some games digitally on there as well
Fire Emblem games and the Bravely series Default and Second I am surprised you do not have. You are missing out on about 4 zelda games. Metroid Samus Returns. Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon for sure. Fantasy Life, Monster Hunter Stories, and Ever Oasis are under the radar rpgs. Dragon Quest 7 and 8.
Reggie, pick up Codename: Steam. Its super cheap right now, like $5 new sealed. Nice collection. I'm trying to round out my 3ds collection right now before prices start jumping.
Man, watched this 3 times, gets me g'd on my 3DS. I never knew Sonic or a Tales game was on here. Ive sussed a bunch of jrpgs. Def lacks shmups like GBA but hey sure hombrew can fix that. But yeh I've got pretty much the whole 3DS library to look forward to, so stoked.
I have a lot of love for the 2DS line. I was collecting for the Vita (expensive!) and the 2DS gave me an inexpensive option to play the Nintendo library.
Stash Merkin - I am so glad I brought the games I wanted for the PS VITA when the system was still relevant, as new copies are becoming harder and harder to find; It took me a long time to find Amazing Spider-man as well as that Tells Tale game, something “Wolf”.
@@NYCJoeBlack You're not lying, Vita games were hard to find even when the system was active. Now that it's officially retired it's catch as cat can for games. Spider-Man is a great game, worth the search. Wolf Among Us I haven't played too much of but did not have a hard time finding it.
Stash Merkin - I love the PS VITA, it so disappointed in what amounts to a wasted opportunity! Here we have a very competent handheld that rivals even some PS3/360/Wii/Wii U graphics and capabilities and yet, we don’t get games like an original Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, a Contra side-scrolling game or evening Metal Slug, an original God of War, Gran Turismo, etc.! Sadly, the types of games that continue to be released towards the tail end of the Vita is mostly Japanese-types of games, graphic novels, and RPG’s. No basketball game (far as I know), not to many shooters like R-Type, not many beat em’ ups like Double Dragon, and not enough platformers. The Nintendo 3DS suffers similarly in regards to variety, but not as bad. I hate that mobile gaming became a thing!!!!! It has contributed in ruining dedicated handheld gaming. THANKFULLY, I still own all my handheld systems and have several games for each handheld, but it still bothers me that we did not get modern versions of Contra, Double Dragon, Streets of Rage, NBA2K, etc. on a portable system.
@@NYCJoeBlack Agreed! The Vita was a huge wasted opportunity. I think Nintendo picked up Sony's fumble by perfecting the Vita's ideas for the Switch and has reaped the rewards. The Vita had so much horsepower under the hood! Borderlands 2 on the Vita ran like poo-poo but they DID it! I don't have a PS4 but am able to play several Senran Kagura games on the Vita at a buttery smooth frame rate...even when it gets hectic with a lot of enemies on screen.
The 3DS is my favourite! I’m actually surprised you didn’t get into it as much.

@@borndorian92 I dont want to re-buy them, I have the physical carts :P
Another classic, my man.
Great video and keep up the great work!
Reggie.. you didn't get the Legend of Zelda 3d remakes??
I would've thought you would be all over that!!
Samuël Biel it’s on the switch now
For me, the 3DS is great for turn-based RPGs.
Great collection. You should get the megaman collection on 3ds. Great video
I use to have it. I didn’t like playing the games on handheld
@@The_RadicalOne oh ok yea they are difficult. Sucks that we still haven't got megaman legends 3. You think maybe they will release it on switch?
Nice collection!
reggie! any of the Etrian games!!
I always recommend fantasy life. I looks like a cute kids game, but man this game is awesome. I spent so many hours playing through this game and the different lifes/jobs. It is just so much fun.
Hard game to find
@@srod6396 Really? I guess it depends on where you live. Here in Germany you can get it from amazon for ~25€. Same price at gamestop. It is worth searching for.
Love fantasy life! It was an unexpected gem for me. Sunk so many hours into it!
@@otterlydorky i live in the Pacific northwest of the u.s. Nintendo of america is one state away from me and i have been looking for fantasy life for like 4 yrs now lol 😆
@@srod6396 4 years? That is crazy. It really is unfortunate that the 3ds family is region locked or I would gladly help you get the PAL version. I hope you can find it. :)
my fiancee and i both are gamers and divide our time evenly between our systems, i never played handhelds before until 1 1/2 years ago when she got me a 2 DS XL to play on so we could game together while she plays on her 3DS . so far our collection is (this is not including DS, just 3DS ..and also note she has way more games then me lmao)

Damn bro i have my 1st baby on the way and its hard to justify dropping $300 for a switch with game. Now u got me wanting to buy a 2ds or 3ds. -_-
If you can be patient and save up for the Nintendo switch lite..I'm telling you as a traveling nurse I can relate to having little or no time for yourself...for the most part and having to experience a new console with a huge variety of games for hardcore to casual gamers....I fall in between that gap...
@@erroldunn5947 i appreciate the advice 🙏💯
@@keepmymindpreoccupied2892 no problem...black friday is around the corner...no excuses 😜. Good luck.
I just bought a red 3dsxl today with SUPER MARIO 3d land and LUIGI'S MANSION dark moon and I love it
Bravely Default, Bravely Second, Fire Emblem, Ever Oasis, Mario & Luigi, Metroid and any of the Zelda games.
Resident evil reveltions is amazing on 3ds.
3ds is awesome to collect for and wildly fun. Now is the time to collect.
I'd recommend the digital only games Gunman Clive 1 and 2. They are short but very good and cheap. Also Blaster Master Zero.
I take my 3ds with everywhere to work everyday lol my switch rarely leaves the house or car
I still love my 3DS! I mostly only play it for Animal Crossing lately, but I’d love to revisit it again soon for Radiant Historia and Persona Q2
Yesss! Do it please! I love Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology and I am highly interested in Persona Q2
Try out Shin Megami Tensei 4 as well if you can.
It’s $20 so it’s less than Radiant Historia and Persona Q2
Maroon Kennedy sweet thanks for the recommendation! I definitely will have to check that out now 😄
currently playing Ocarina of Time on my 3ds. never played it before. I’m having a blast but i get really confused at times lol have to look up walkthroughs😩😂
It's a great system I think I will always play mine.
Persona q2 gets a high recommendation from me!
he wouldnt even play 5
you should get rune factory 4 and azure striker gunvolt
I love the 3ds. Tons of great games and with its ability to play the DS there is practically no limit to great games.
Reggie, pick up Codename: Steam. Its super cheap right now, like $5 new sealed. Nice collection. I'm trying to round out my 3ds collection right now before prices start jumping.
I have 176 ds and 3ds games i love it so much i play it a little bit more than my switch
"when I'm not playing a game I gotta move it along" - says this in front of a wall with likely a few hundred games displayed haha.
All of the river city games that were released. I believe there was three titles released over time
