I've seen cases where a submarine was spotted stationary as much as three lengths of an ASW-airdrop-box behind the ping indicator location. With that much randomness/inaccuracy, the whole thing is just a pointless waste of time and effort for the ASW ship.
It's not even the worse thing, the ping indicator always moves at max speed when a submarine is moving above 3 knots, which means you can't even predict the subs speed accurately. If the sub is at 1/4 or max speed, you can't see the difference on the ping, so you could be predicting a path although the sub is barely moving at all.
They didn't mess up. I am a strong advocate of "never attribute to malice that which can easily be explained by incompetence", but in this case I am 100% sure it was intentional.
Tbh, what they should do is what Aslain mods can. Minimap spotting subs when they go for ping. It atleast tells you where the sub is heading next everytime they ping. Or make better accurate shot while doing so.
Alliance torpedoes actually do home better. All other sub homing torps have a 2.5 degree angle of pursuit. Alliance is double that at 5 degrees. It's on wargamings wiki page.
Nooooooo.... Really?!? What a surprise ;-)
Thanks for calling out WG's scumminess.

Man, i was always wondering how we’d all miss so much with such an obvious indicator. I suppose i’m not so great at dodging drops as i thought lol
Saw it a few days ago, submarine, white ping and black oil were three different positions... But hey, submarines are finished and absolutely fair 😂😂😂

Aaaaah finally! I was wondering myself
Good job, it's another situation where WG messed up
I don't think so. It's by design. They don't want us to kill them, at least not as easy as it looks on paper.

I thought it is me who simply can't hit a sub.
it gets more crazy
there are people who genuinely believe alliance homing torpedoes home better because they are slower
That's actually just how it works, if you go slow in your ship, your turning radius is smaller

Yeah I thought it was off because it made no sense when I’d drop according to the ping and they were going the wrong way
I just hate subs
As much as CV's?
@@Kakarot64.CVs are still worse.
I mean, WG games are filled with RNG and shitty mechanics. People must be dumb as hell for not believe that WG games are broken.
So subs also get RNG😂
Nothing ist good about submarines. Bad Ideas from uncreative people not playing the game lazy and bad implemented.
Its disgusting
I think they should remove the ping location RNG and remove depth charges causing flooding
its all a bit wierd game design
WTAF? That's exactly what depth charges are meant to do!
