Thanks for all you do Paul. I purchased the body swing a few weeks ago, still a lot work to do, but i have really straighten my swing out. It’s really wonderful knowing what your ball is telling you and then working it out. I have also turned my range time into so much more of a training session. 3+ practice swings, aim the ball and then go into the box and go through setup, hit ball, watch, If it’s off immediate practice swings right there. Then i just repeat for every ball. So a large bucket takes me about an hour and a half but man it’s worth it. Also started to play holes in my head with the last 20 balls or so if everything is going well. Thanks again Paul 🤘🤘
Thanks for the support. I appreciate it. So glad you are improving. It's not hard just different. Got to do a few moves. I love your routine. This is how you are going to master it. Perfect repetition. Good job.
Wow... you cant stop to amaze me from time to time... though i was getting the grip on the swing, then i see this and im like.. ok, there goes 3 mistakes i make. Thanks again for amazing tips Paul Wilson. You're the best !
Thanks. There are many pieces in the swing. Keep learning and mastering them but keep it simple too. You should be pretty close to having a great swing.
Hi Paul I forgot to mention in my last comment how helpful this lesson is After 7 months of Winter/ closed golf courses here this Spring I was struggling with the back awing- I had no idea where my club head/ shaft were going, if the arc was too flat or too vertical & felt like it was different each swing I don't think I'm quite getting to parallel at the top of my back swing but working toward that Your instruction on getting the hands up approximately to the arm pit has my swing plane a lot more consistent from one shot to the next This is helping me hit the ball straighter, thank you Also I slowed my back swing down - it helps me keep loose wrists, hinge, rotate or turn & fire lower body ahead of the down swing All of this is creating straighter shots Ill work on distance later, for now the priority is keeping the ball in play The league I play Thursday nights at Black Bear in Carlton, the course is protected by its width, very little space on either side of the fairways It's a fair layout but it punishes you if you're not straight

Good morning, Paul I was at Bul Rush late yesterday, had the course to myself(July 4th) so was hitting 2 T shots/work on 4-5 of your tips There are 3 or 4 T boxes where I'm never confident in my alignment- end up pulling/pushing or fading On 13 I laid down my by back up driver & instantly figured out my stance was slightly open- I was cheating/aiming too far right to avoid the wood line left sight of fairway There is no rough on this one, you're on the fairway or else in the woods both sides of fairway I squared up my feet to my "alignment stick/ driver, took an easy loose swing & hit 2 balls just past the 150 yard marker, it's a 400 yard par 4 I used the alignment stick the rest of the back 9 easy swing & hit one beautiful drive after another 20-30 yards past my normal shots - it's super fun getting the ball out to 260 & straighter The alignment was giving me way better ball compression & dead straight to 5 yard draw It was working on the approach shots too with irons Anyway what I thought was squared up was really an open stance which had me push/pull/fade/ hook/less distance I can't wait to get back out,.thanks alot for all the help You are the Common man's Coach/golf swing Bible
Yes, get the pieces. Most people want everything right away. That is not how to work on it. You are starting to get it so stay focused and keep doing the swings.
@@paulwilsongolf Yes, thank you I'm fairly patient - I wasn't going to improve any further with my old swing I'm confident enough in the changes- feel the heel, load the weight on the back foot, rotate my hips, hinge, easy swing, getting my belt buckle facing the target, club in the box, staying high at impact, spine tilt slightly back Some of these I'm doing a slightly modified version- not 100% but working toward fully committed on each piece of the puzzle As I mentioned before I won my last 4 weeks in league-the other guy is trying to beat me, I'm focused on beating my handicap, keeping the ball in play & 3 putting once or not at all- I can't control what he's doing When I start out roughly par/birdie/par the other guy ends up beating himself because he's too worried about what I'm doing How do I know there's progress? Not because I'm scoring once in awhile 35/36 but because I'm putting up more 37s/38s/39s & less 42s/ 43s Also I'm driving the ball some 250- to 270 where as before I was 230 to 240 It's really fun seeing improvement, thanks alot, you're an awesome swing coach - you probably hear that all time
Thank you Paul for another great video. Yesterday I purchased the Body Swing and stayed up past 2am (and I am usually in bed by 10pm!) watching videos from the series as well as checking out the short game videos you have posted as well. So much great content! I really hope you do package and release those short game videos as a product (like you mentioned yesterday in a reply to a comment of mine). Thank you again!
Thanks for picking up The Body Swing. I truly appreciate the support. I love it when people get excited about wanting to learn it. Don't tire yourself out. There is a lot to go through but just work on each piece. Do lots of practice swings at home. Daily practice swings is the fastest way to get it. Each position (only 4) give you feedback and checkpoints so you know you are doing it 100% right. If you do them you in turn would look like a pro as you swing. If you look like a pro you get the right fundamentals and hit amazing shots. As you see I also keep the short game simple. Chipping yips are you trying to hit the ball. I am not hitting when chipping. Just follow the set up and do your putting stroke. Visualize your putter as you chip. I have fixed tons of chipping yippers in the past in 5 mins. by getting them to see it and do it differently. You've got this.
Thank you Paul. It was money well spent! Going to do some indoor practice this evening and once the northeast heatwave breaks in a few days will take it to the range. I will definitely keep that chipping tip in mind and treat it like a putting stroke. Thanks again for the quick replies.
Love this one! And I needed it. Looking in the mirror the thought I’ve been using to play and on the range looks okay. I think arms turned off, pull rear shoulder behind my neck. The box visual is awesome and gives me confidence and a range I can be in. Another good one Paul!
Glad to help. This is a good one because I am constantly looking for this in live lessons. Anything in that box is close and can be tweaked if necessary. Keep at it.
The trouble I run into mostly is not so much being in the box, its how I start the swing once I’m there. I often start the swing with my arms sooner than my lower body, but in time I’ve learned to start the swing with knees, hips then shoulders. It’s a game of feel for sure, but it sure is nice to hit straight drives and hit shots pain free , Cheers Paul !
There are many different triggers. You need to find what works for you. I like things to be simple. Try the most popular one first then go from there: th-cam.com/video/RdphthCQ9VM/w-d-xo.html Tomorrow's tip will be a game changer for you.
hi paul, id love to tell my friends about your vids, but it took me ages to convince them to do the opposite of what you are teaching, the result is, i win more often, and sometimes theres a bit of comedy when someone launches their club into the bushes! keep up the good work🤣🤣😜
Great tip I over swing on the back swing thus both elbows bend and the I am trying to manipulate the face to be square at impact. you can see clubface ware toward the toe. Very frustrating, no consistency, no distance, no consistent direction. Everyone I play with tells me this. Hope fully this will help. I have Swing Machine Golf need to do over.
So the first part is admitting your current golf swing is not and will not work. So I think you're at that point. Good. Now we get to work. Listen to what I am saying and do it. Check your grip and make sure it's neutral. Set up is taller but not too tall. A tall set up for me is one that is not all bent over. Now work on the hinge/rehinge. This means you are at set up. You take it back and by waist high you make a sharp letter L. From the top your roll it over hitting a hook. Then into the through swing you do a backwards letter L. L to L. Hook everything. Tee it up and do it with a 7 iron. You are hooking it on purpose so we know what you are going to do before you do it. Left right left right is not repeating. You need every ball to hook. They will go left/left. As you hook it you say to yourself your release is working. You are doing half right. This is all of 15 mins. Once your ball is hooking you switch to the body. Coil and hinge to the top. Then fire the lower body first allowing the arms to follow. If you do this you will hit it dead straight. Tidy up the position I teach in SMG once you get hitting half decent shots. Do this drill and watch the face: th-cam.com/video/OFJOLBSXSfQ/w-d-xo.html Then roll it from the top and get it consistently hooking (this is step 1): th-cam.com/video/8ro_1NYPd8c/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/GnQ2FfdQBDo/w-d-xo.html Once you can consistently hook it you start to add body to straighten it out (step 2). To do that, you can use this trigger: th-cam.com/video/RdphthCQ9VM/w-d-xo.html
Paul thanks for the concept of your Body Swing. It’s taken me out of having too many swing thoughts and just 1 or 2 key ones that have had tremendous positive impact on my game. I have two short questions. 1) I’m raising up during my backswing due to my shoulder bumping up against my chin ( I’m fairly flexible). Would lowering the point the club wraps around my body help? 2) you look identical between videos that are several years old and your recent ones…….congrats on keeping in shape !
Glad you like it. Thanks. Simple is the key for sure. Too many people making this way too complicated getting nowhere. 1. This is a tricky for some people. I do this too. I need a longer neck. Just feel your chin up but you need to be thinking of this on every shot until you start doing it. I catch myself trying to lower again. The key is to keep telling yourself to not clearly see you toes every time you set up. It have to be part of your routine. As you say you could be lifting it up too high. This could knock the chin. I like the lead arm slightly above the shoulder plane. Do a Scottie Scheffler and it could raise you up. Be careful not to be too flat though. Also, you could do the Nicklaus chin turn too. This takes work though. Others lift up to hammer down with the arms. Lifting up gives people more of a feeling of power to hit with arms. I would assume you are not doing that. So try some of those things and see if that helps.
Paul - for indoor practice swings, I don’t have a ton of room nor high ceilings. Is there a short lightweight practice club (I know you don’t like heavy clubs) you can recommend I pickup? Thank you
Well you can grip down on your real club. When you grip down hold it off the ground and equivalent amount. You could buy a kids club. Cut down and old club. That's what I have done in the past.
What are your thoughts on arm depth in the backswing? I have been trying to get my hands behind my heels at the top of the backswing but I'm not sure if this is required.
Well I like 30 degrees depth of swing which means the lead hand is off the back armpit. I did a tip on it here: th-cam.com/video/VPmj0pCRwvQ/w-d-xo.html

Your instruction on getting the hands up approximately to the arm pit has my swing plane a lot more consistent from one shot to the next
This is helping me hit the ball straighter, thank you
Also I slowed my back swing down - it helps me keep loose wrists, hinge, rotate or turn & fire lower body ahead of the down swing
All of this is creating straighter shots

I used the alignment stick the rest of the back 9 easy swing & hit one beautiful drive after another 20-30 yards past my normal shots - it's super fun getting the ball out to 260 & straighter
The alignment was giving me way better ball compression & dead straight to 5 yard draw
