What I love about the Spell and Trap is that it’s basically implying that your opponent is just ordering sushi. The first effect of the Trap is them deciding what they want to get, and the LP paying in the Field Spell is them paying for the meal
Gosh, I forget where this comes from, but there was some games professor that said something along the lines of 'All Social Gaming Is Roleplaying', to some extent or another. And I'm more than happy to play the role of Sushi Chef!
I hope there will be some boss-monster for the Theme that ends up having an Effect that boosts your Suships DEF into the Stratosphere. The other Hope I have is that we will get an Anime at some Point where the Animation of the Suships getting destroyed is just the Enemies Monster eating them
It could easily be good or at least rouge deck and keep all the themes, but I don’t see konami giving them decent support the new monsters are nice but this deck needs something unfair (rank tool box) to keep it on level with the rest of the decks
The prices on the Menu on the Trap card could be a signal for more Suships in the future because their DEF is the price you have to pay and we don't have Suships with 250 or 500 DEF yet.
6:48 I also saw some uzumaki fish cakes, sashimi in display cases, chopped cucmbers, something that looks like soysauce dishes, tamagoyakis, and a piece of fake grass that they tend to put in pre-made boxes of sushi.
Xyzs are pretty much stacking cards, so this works on so many levels. So fusions may be sushi that involves, well, fusing ingredients. Could also totally have Union monsters be sauces (You do use sauce or sauce-like flavor boosting ingredients on some sushi I think?) (I’m not aware of sushi techniques, so I have no idea) 🙇
This is probably one of the most intriguing archetypes in a long time. But while the thought of there being Suship Synchro and Fusion monsters is very tantalizing, I’m not quite sure how they would work as real-life parallels. From what you’ve said, warship rolls mainly involve stacking the ingredients, which parallels Xyz summoning, so they’d want to stick with that. I suppose traditional “rolls” could be the Fusion part, but I don’t know what kind of ships they would be, and I’m at a loss for how Synchro monsters could be thematically worked in. Well, above all else, I guess we’ll just have to trust in the head chefs to make this archetype work.
Agreed! If they DO plan on branching out to other summoning methods, I trust they know WAY MORE about the culture and cuisine than I do to make it work.
Purely speculation here, but if I had to guess: For fusion, we'd assume some literal mix of ingredients as opposed to them being distinctly added on. Something more cooked or processed, like a bento box for an air-carrier, something like that? For synchro, I would assume a roll, seeing as one kinda has to go through the other back in 5Ds. Maybe a submarine, being cylindrical? For links, that's kinda tough though--
Ah yes, i just finished you're video an i must say that it was vary beautifully put together, along with the teaser of a future and even grander meal packed along in a nice and short package easy to digest and enjoy, full of lovely options on how you get to enjoy a meal if you wish to cook it at home for yourself. Suships make me hungry.... Edit. When it comes to the Box of Friends play, you can always make Number 97: Draglubion. This rank 8 XYZ allows you to pick 2 Dragon XYZ from the ED, summon 1 and attach the other as material. With it, you can make something like, Number 100: Numeron Dragon which is a Rank 1, but gains ATK equal to the combined Ranks of all XYZ monsters you control, including itself, x 1000. So by doing this play you are able to: A) Burn opponent for 2400 B) Summon a 13000 ATK big boi

Well the Specials trap card has evidence of possible future sushi ingredients and what their prices (DEF points in regards to the field spell) would be, so it’s highly unlikely that this archetype is a one-and-done.
I love the weird overlap in this archetype between Fire attributes and Aqua types. Anyone know why exactly they're fire though? Is it just 'cos you cook food, or is there something I'm missing.
I’m watching this because this archetype has been brought to Duel links which made me remember this video and for reasons I can’t recall, I got so hype and am now grinding gems to make a suship deck

Edit: I tested the box engine a while back(I still run it) you definitely don't want to run the Grandpa, its only good with Happiness(and ofc you only have 3)+ im also only playing one box atm as it is also kinda a brick(you do need to run some doll monsters but they are also more normal monster targets for rabbit and dai) (I haven't tested any of the tenyis tbh I might want to test the lv4s) Great video Nova!

This archetype looks fun.
