    John Meadows is an American professional bodybuilder and entrepreneur with an intriguing story. While John now boasts a successful career as an IFBB Pro bodybuilder and fitness company owner, his journey towards the top was extremely difficult.
    Growing up, John never met his father, and his mother died at an extremely young age. This meant John only had his grandmother to take care of him. When his grandmother tragically passed away in 1999, John was left alone without his family to support him.
    As the years went by, John continued to face new adversities in his life. During his early days in bodybuilding, John suffered from a rare colon disease. After fighting the disease for several months, his colon burst - almost resulting in his death. Luckily, John was quickly rushed to an emergency room where his life was saved. After several months of recovery, John was finally back on his feet.
    Coming back into bodybuilding, John used the very obstacles that almost cost him his life as ‘fuel’ to grow stronger. Ever since he recovered from the colon surgery, John has gone on to become a successful bodybuilder, entrepreneur, and inspiration for many people all over the world.

      I do this on the lat pulldown machine because the other cable setups are too low

    I've earned some stink-eye from some of the cable kings for grabbing 2 ropes when I do face pulls. Now I've got a second movement to piss off those leg-day skipping peacocks.

    I've been doing these for a while after seeing u do them and really like the pump I get in all 3 heads of the triceps doing it this way. I got a long rope that I use most of the time but the dual rope way is simply genius in going to have to try that, thanks!

    I suggest everyone doing rope pressdowns to add another rope and try this variation. I always thought regular rope pressdowns offer limited movement, the ROM and contraction is just superior on this one. My tricep routine: double rope pressdown> weighted dips>seated EZ bar extension. That's all you need and most effective exercises if you ask me. Always great content John keep it up!

  • @gimpycpu
    @gimpycpu 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow nice haha, I found about that variation after being too lazy to change the attachment after doing dual rope facepull. Glad to see you recommend it.

    Found this through the Avalanche program. I wish I watched this movie first. The two rope thing is genius. I did the exercise the being completely vertical. I hope I get a new chance to do it right later in the program.

      johnson LOL, I'm 59 when I retire I will still go to the gym between 12am and 5am . Nothing like a nice mid day nap. But very happy to hear you go to the gym. I watch many people do those tricep excercises wrong,too much weight and swinging their whole body. Even I use pretty light weight on that exercise. Have a good day.

  • @MagnusStormfist
    @MagnusStormfist ปีที่แล้ว

  • @trappenweisseguy27
    @trappenweisseguy27 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I use a standard rope and loop the one end into a knot at the top and do it one arm at a time. I do get the better, longer contraction that way, and you can use your free arm to help assist getting an extra rep or two out of it. This is also excellent for trying to get your weaker arm up to speed. I highly recommend people to buy their own rope attachment, I never have to scour the gym looking for some ratty old piece of crap.

    Somehow this still hasn't caught on as the default way to perform rope triceps extensions. Just showed it to another person at my gym. After trying it themselves people always react as if I've shown them a new version of the wheel.

    Is this exercise better for the connective tissue than doing it with a bar? I kind of seeing lately a trend with triceps exercises emphasizing that a lot of them are bad for joints and that is better doing cable exercises where the forearm is alligned with the cable...
