It usually takes me a while to subscribe to people. But after watching a few of your videos, I fell in love the with the quality of everything you do. Keep up the amazing work, admitting your hilarious mistakes, and just being awesome. :)

I'd use magnets on the folding wings,so they will be fixed when they are not in use.

Having no possible use for any of the custom builds you have created for your shop has not stopped me from subscribing, watching, and enjoying each and every video. Your friendly and personal interaction with your audience and the approachable projects mkae this one of the most satisfying channels I have discovered. Thank you!

Yo Alexandre, Andyman from the Netherlands here. Good vids, cool projects! But what I want to say is; don't be happy with MDF. I worked with it to extreme extent and have serious lung damage from it. The very fine dust from it contains a lot of chemical glue which the lungs can hardly get rid of. Just a health tip!

Great result in the end. I really like the 3D printed catches for the wings. I'll be doing something similar on my build, once I've fixed the lighting in my workshop.
    Thanks for another fantastic video.

I was so inspired after watching I went out to my workshop and I made my own mitre station! I used 2x4s for the frame and didn't bother with a drawer but the wings are the same and I couldn't be happier with the results. Thanks Alex

I love using MDF for projects, but one tip is to use a small round over bit on the edges. A smooth edge is much less likely to be damaged than a square edge. Nice project I want to build one of these soon and may use your plans.

Very nice work and I love your channel. You cut to the case and speed up video where necessary - also, no (or not that many) ads. You definitely deserve more credit!
One thing for you to consider is to maybe show the 3D model when you talk about things that can be a bit difficult to follow from oral explanations. Or show the 3D model in the start to give an overview. Only if/when it makes sense of cause. Anyway, love your space-saving sawhorses - very cleverly designed!
    Love from Denmark!

I was wondering the purpose all the outside biscuits and screws? You did say the screws worked as clamps. Thinking glue and screws is enough, I guess the biscuit allowed for quick alignment of parts. Thanks for sharing a nice design.

and another awesome video, I always look forward to the next one...
As for those builds it would really interest me how long it actually took you from draging out the huge board until the station was done. Just to get an estimate on the build time I would have to expect if I try this myself

Love your videos, started watching them recently. It will be nice if you incorporate more 3d printed stuff in your video and also add 3d printing time lapse as video overlays. 3D printing is a growing community and you would make a great addition.

Awesome as usual. Such thought to the details, especially that perfect fit for the dust vac ! haha
Serious question: why not 3d print an optimized funnel/boot on the miter saw to direct the dust into the vacuum?

Great build. But there's one question left. And maybe you are going to update us about it. The wearout of the srewhead against the polymer ramps? Yes, you can print new ones and change them out but in longterm usage metal would perform much better. Whats your opinion about it?

  • @ewijntuin
    @ewijntuin 4 ปีที่แล้ว

you need to lock the chuck of your drill by twisting the chuck counterclockwise after you put the drillbit in and turning the chuck as you normally do. something i learned about chucks after owning the same drill a few years and being frustated each time the bit fell out while drilling holes

always make the middle shelf a little to low so you can shim your saw to the right hight.
If you accidentally make the shelf to high you have to cut the shelve or rout out a bit for the saw to lower wich is to much work.
    so always shim it.

10:23 The small hard screw head will make a groove under the wind over time. Maybe add a small wood block there. Then you can just rotate the block by hand instead of the screw head with a screw driver.
13:14 After watching further, you mostly solved this problem by those plastic grooves.

I wonder if MDF will hold up after some use? Otherwise, it does look nice. Also, I don't know if it's correct to call MDF plywood since it's not layered wood but fiberboard. So more like spånskivor which is LDF or Hardboard (HDF)
