I wish we had more tiny house vids like this in Australia. Housing affordability is truly a joke this is the answer for both affordability and sustainability
Planning on doing the same thing on an old Silver Bullet Caravan here in Central Australia found 1 just near Barrow Creek just 300km north of Alice Springs, been working on Construction Projects since 18 now I'm 41 and decided to build my own home with my own experiences, now in case you're wondering, Silver Bullet Caravans are huge, more huge than pretty much all the modern caravans that is circling around Australia right now, these old caravans were used as Hospitals or Schools in the late 1970s and the early 90s and are very rare here in Australia, it has a lot of ground clearance and can be fitted with a 6 stud pattern tyres and can be towed around rough terrain, there are some on the internet but nothing on TH-cam, I think it'll be great if you want to check it out😁👍 watching your vid was just an inspiration, keep up the good work take care and be safe, cheers from Central Australia 😁👍
The finished trailer looks great, and at every step in the process! I like the close-ups of the weld when you were calculating stuff. I think you have made the best "tiny house" video I have seen. Informative, pauses to absorb info, visual (how parts were custom cut), step-by-step, 2x forward!
Gorgeous trailer. I bought mine from Tumbleweed. As a first time builder, I needed the "jump start". If I had to build the trailer, I think I would still be at the welding shop!!! Congratulations on your success.
You ROCK man. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skills. You have likely helped many people with building shelter and/or the tiny house of their dreams!
Thanks for a simple quick video without all the fake personality. Informative and focused. Excellent video. Can you give us an idea of cost without labor?
Amazing how big the trailer looks for a tiny house. Leveling jacks can lift the weight. I have a friends with a 43’ diesel rv and the leveling jack lift it easily. It’s all in capacity.
I really want to weld up my own trailer. I guess I better buy that everlast mig welder that I've been thinking about. I like how this video shows all of the steps for this build.
awesome fabrication job, that is truly built to last , well planned and thought out. necessity is not only the mother of invention , its the way to build a better mouse trap , as you've shown here. also made in America has a shot in the arm thanks to people like you , cheers.
I love your working man hands, makes me miss my hubby's wood shop when we built pool tables. I love the end project. I came across your vid researching how to build a tiny house as my son and I are gonna do it as part of his homeschooling. Thanks for the vid it was awesome
+Wishmaster333 Hello! I came across this video the same way you did. My 7yo daughter already wants to start brainstorming her own tiny house build; we homeschool as well!! Teresa
With snow on the ground and freezing temps we haven't started our build yet but we've drawn up the blueprint with a complete layout and have all the materials. If we could just get some nice weather and no snow that would be awesome, lol
I found your video while searching TH-cam for a solution to the failure of my travel trailer frame (the whole RV industry seems to use the same crappy, weak I-beam frames with low quality steel). - Your frame is very well built and is AWESOME! Well done! - You and that metal fabrication shop could create a business selling replacement frames to people like me whose travel trailer frames have cracked and broken (more than once)....just sayin’...
This is really great! I am looking to build a tiny house for travel, and you did a great job with this video! Thank you! I have absolutely zero experience with building, so we will see how this goes with some help from my family!
a fabricator makes due with what he has. if he doesn't know how to do something, he learns. excellent video. haven't seen anything we haven't done in the field.
Wow- very impressive! This looks like a lot of heavy work, using a lot of specialized tools. Great job- can't wait to see your tiny house progress. TFS!
Wow this is amazing cant wait to get started on my own and I gotta say your dog is extremely well behaved :) I shudder at the thought of my dog walking into the workspace he's a good boy but that tail is a whirlwind of doom.
Big thumbs up. Who would give this a thumbs down!??? It’s short, informative, and to the point. There is no dumb ass blabbing up a storm. About his truck his dog. While wearing stupid sunglasses.
First let me say I've been in the construction industry since before high school (started working with my grandfather as a kid) Wow, also appreciate excellent work. You rock! Hey, on your next one maybe you could just rent a spray booth. We have those here where I'm at. People even use them to sand blast parts and powder coat. (also a painter) Keep up the good work !
John Doe Thanks man. yeah i almost did the spring inside but i didn't want to get paint all over his shop. never thought about renting a spray booth but if i ever do it again ill look in to it.
Well done. Thanks for sharing. A very, very well considered tutorial. I for one really appreciate you taking the time to film, edit and explain how you went about this. I'm impressed in particular with your removable hitch. Good thinking. My complements to you.
Very impressed, I have to say you did a good job. I am curious as why you didn't add more support beams to attach for flooring. I give you high marks and an outstanding video!
Good day. please tell me what is the length of the residential module without the alcove above the cabin and the porch? And what is the weight of the whole house turned out at the exit? Thank you.
Tiny Nest no i hadn't except for the propane tank wood stove I built. i was a contractor for 10 years with a specialty in framing. but if you can cut and build things out of wood why not with metal to. And thanks for watching. been enjoying your build to.
Looks great! The only thing I don't understand is the purpose behind bolting the hitch on as opposed to welding it on. What was the reasoning behind that?
For many different reasons. One is so it doesn't look like a trailer when it's parked and 2 so it won't be towed off when I'm at work. Tiny houses have been stolen. This makes it harder. I have a video going over the removable hitch. Check it out.
franchement cela me plait du travail de pro avec une belle finition une petit question combien sa coûte chez vous cette base pour une tiny House a bientôt pour d'autre vidéo
I like how you presented your video. Step-by-Step is what some of us like. Oh, and like lots of movies there is nothing better then topping it out with some bloopers!!!! I click the like and subscribed. Hope see more videos like these. Meaning step-by-step with bloopers. Great Job!!!
Yep. It's on right now cause the damn thing weighs a ton and is a pain to take off and put on, but if I ever have land, it's coming off and the trailers going down on footings.
I thought that if I built it similar to what you did. .then I could cut the back of my cabinets to fit and then my cabinets would even set back a little more and I could still utilize for space. What is your thoughts?
+Jeffery Grigg Im a huge fan of the elevated floor to eliminate the wheel well all together. Not sure if you've gone deeper into the vids but my mechanical room is awesome and I think it's one of the best features in the house. But if you want those tall ceiling then yeah your idea sounds perfect.
I am wanting to build it all open and all wood. .kinda like a cabin. I am thinking that I want my bathroom in the front of the trailer with my loft above or either my loft right in the middle with a staircase down to the livingroom then I could utilize the space above the bathroom for storage and my living room will be open from floor to rafters. The kitchen would be under my loft if I put it in the middle. I am going to have real red wood floor throughout the trailer and stained pine or oak on the walls and running along the rafters from front to back. I am playing with the idea of the weathered wood look in it somewhere.
7 years and still one of the best tiny home build series.
I wish we had more tiny house vids like this in Australia. Housing affordability is truly a joke this is the answer for both affordability and sustainability
Well made in America!!! Well thought!!! I love the dog whom is very noticeable part of the family!!!

Tiny House Tips Thanks a lot. I was just looking at Tumbleweed's prices. Looks like I have a comparable price.
Very nice video. You have a calm voice and it was easy to understand. Thank you.
You ROCK man. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skills. You have likely helped many people with building shelter and/or the tiny house of their dreams!
Hey man I really appreciate you explaining everything you do that's pretty cool makes me feel like I could actually do this
Looking forward to having ago thanks for your support. Look forward to the next stage of the Tiny home.
Thanks for a simple quick video without all the fake personality. Informative and focused. Excellent video. Can you give us an idea of cost without labor?
I used this as a guideline for my tiny house trailer. thanks a bunch.
Amazing how big the trailer looks for a tiny house. Leveling jacks can lift the weight. I have a friends with a 43’ diesel rv and the leveling jack lift it easily. It’s all in capacity.
Nice solid design. That hitch is epic.
You are very eloquent and clear with how you made this. Great job man.
I really want to weld up my own trailer. I guess I better buy that everlast mig welder that I've been thinking about. I like how this video shows all of the steps for this build.

+50tmack this project albeit on a much smaller scale would be the perfect project for my son to learn how to weld with my everlast welder.
+Wishmaster333 Any update from you on the tiny house?
With snow on the ground and freezing temps we haven't started our build yet but we've drawn up the blueprint with a complete layout and have all the materials. If we could just get some nice weather and no snow that would be awesome, lol
Watching the pup in the background was definitely the highlight of this video 🤣🐕
Great video!!! Wish I could weld like a pro.
Nice job buddy! You do great work. No short cuts and extra beefy! I can only imagine the quality of your tiny house.
Damn son. I can't believe this is 7 years old already. TH-cam recommendations comes through again. Miss you dan. Send my love to peanut

Will do! Watching as we speak! you really go all out, I am sure it will be no trouble if I need some tips!

tysonschneider Glad you liked it..
Big thumbs up. Who would give this a thumbs down!??? It’s short, informative, and to the point. There is no dumb ass blabbing up a storm. About his truck his dog. While wearing stupid sunglasses.

+Mike Johnson The trigger on the plasma cutter was broken so it was a pain to use, but yes over all why better than a grinder.

El amigo de trailers cachetón hecho
nice video, well done
Why there is a gap between the frame and the drawbar?
Very good informative video..thanks man!
Wow, nice work. That level of DIY is admirable :D
Have you had lots of experience working with metal?
Tiny Nest no i hadn't except for the propane tank wood stove I built. i was a contractor for 10 years with a specialty in framing. but if you can cut and build things out of wood why not with metal to. And thanks for watching. been enjoying your build to.
your a good builder!
Hi, but how do you make Documents for it trailer???? in Europe autority will not give documents for it,
Looks great! The only thing I don't understand is the purpose behind bolting the hitch on as opposed to welding it on. What was the reasoning behind that?

Is that a MJ in the back round ? Nice job on the trailer .

what a great video thanks brian
Good job
What kind of trailer did you use
awesome love this build

+Dragoro Dragozinho It's a pleasure so no problem.
such a great job.
How does the adjustable hitch prevent theft?
Excellent point.. I guess it reduces it by removing the hitch. The removable hitch assembly prevents the theft. Thanks.
oh okay so you only put the hitch assembly on when you want to move it or are on the road
cool
Yep. It's on right now cause the damn thing weighs a ton and is a pain to take off and put on, but if I ever have land, it's coming off and the trailers going down on footings.
How much cost do you need for made it..
Awesome build, I wouldn’t be standing on lifted tynes though should always have em on the ground
6:46 “I feel so bad I feel your fart waking up” …otherwise awesome video it looks like it’ll stand the test of time- thanks for posting!
Hi where can i get plans to build a trailer like yours?
dude..great vid..will def check your other vids... was going to build a dome...but love this ..im going to have a go at it
Hey! I like your back ground music!

GREAT JOB....
Verynice idol I like your project
nice work.good for you!
doug
DOUG HUNTER Thanks man
It surely is a nice custom made frame trailer, but what is the cost? Thanks
Thanks for the reply. I had kinda figured 4-5 inches.
+Jeffery Grigg Yeah. You can always make it smaller with wood. Or hang trim over to make it look smaller.
I thought that if I built it similar to what you did. .then I could cut the back of my cabinets to fit and then my cabinets would even set back a little more and I could still utilize for space. What is your thoughts?

where do you put the water tank?
This is so awesome! Thank you for making this video!

Can I get the material list for this build?
Just a question. What were the reasons for using C channel instead of comparable tubing ?
Cost
Versus time it took to do all of the notches and doubling up of the "beams"?
great video would you know where to buy tandem axle trailer frames
+tyrone bailey Huh. Why not just buy the trailer as a whole.
what was the total cost to build?
