I wish we had more tiny house vids like this in Australia. Housing affordability is truly a joke this is the answer for both affordability and sustainability
Gorgeous trailer. I bought mine from Tumbleweed. As a first time builder, I needed the "jump start". If I had to build the trailer, I think I would still be at the welding shop!!! Congratulations on your success.
Amazing how big the trailer looks for a tiny house. Leveling jacks can lift the weight. I have a friends with a 43’ diesel rv and the leveling jack lift it easily. It’s all in capacity.
The finished trailer looks great, and at every step in the process! I like the close-ups of the weld when you were calculating stuff. I think you have made the best "tiny house" video I have seen. Informative, pauses to absorb info, visual (how parts were custom cut), step-by-step, 2x forward!
Thanks for a simple quick video without all the fake personality. Informative and focused. Excellent video. Can you give us an idea of cost without labor?
You ROCK man. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and skills. You have likely helped many people with building shelter and/or the tiny house of their dreams!
I really want to weld up my own trailer. I guess I better buy that everlast mig welder that I've been thinking about. I like how this video shows all of the steps for this build.
I found your video while searching TH-cam for a solution to the failure of my travel trailer frame (the whole RV industry seems to use the same crappy, weak I-beam frames with low quality steel). - Your frame is very well built and is AWESOME! Well done! - You and that metal fabrication shop could create a business selling replacement frames to people like me whose travel trailer frames have cracked and broken (more than once)....just sayin’...
Big thumbs up. Who would give this a thumbs down!??? It’s short, informative, and to the point. There is no dumb ass blabbing up a storm. About his truck his dog. While wearing stupid sunglasses.
Wow this is amazing cant wait to get started on my own and I gotta say your dog is extremely well behaved :) I shudder at the thought of my dog walking into the workspace he's a good boy but that tail is a whirlwind of doom.
I love your working man hands, makes me miss my hubby's wood shop when we built pool tables. I love the end project. I came across your vid researching how to build a tiny house as my son and I are gonna do it as part of his homeschooling. Thanks for the vid it was awesome
+Wishmaster333 Hello! I came across this video the same way you did. My 7yo daughter already wants to start brainstorming her own tiny house build; we homeschool as well!! Teresa
With snow on the ground and freezing temps we haven't started our build yet but we've drawn up the blueprint with a complete layout and have all the materials. If we could just get some nice weather and no snow that would be awesome, lol
a fabricator makes due with what he has. if he doesn't know how to do something, he learns. excellent video. haven't seen anything we haven't done in the field.
awesome fabrication job, that is truly built to last , well planned and thought out. necessity is not only the mother of invention , its the way to build a better mouse trap , as you've shown here. also made in America has a shot in the arm thanks to people like you , cheers.
This is really great! I am looking to build a tiny house for travel, and you did a great job with this video! Thank you! I have absolutely zero experience with building, so we will see how this goes with some help from my family!
Wow- very impressive! This looks like a lot of heavy work, using a lot of specialized tools. Great job- can't wait to see your tiny house progress. TFS!
Very impressed, I have to say you did a good job. I am curious as why you didn't add more support beams to attach for flooring. I give you high marks and an outstanding video!
@@DavidGarcia-wr6ge lol... The weight of the steel can't be more than 300-500 kg.. so 120 to 200 euro for that tops, the axle might as well be the most expensive part of all. Unless he paid someone to do it for him, it is nowhere near 5 thousand.
First let me say I've been in the construction industry since before high school (started working with my grandfather as a kid) Wow, also appreciate excellent work. You rock! Hey, on your next one maybe you could just rent a spray booth. We have those here where I'm at. People even use them to sand blast parts and powder coat. (also a painter) Keep up the good work !
John Doe Thanks man. yeah i almost did the spring inside but i didn't want to get paint all over his shop. never thought about renting a spray booth but if i ever do it again ill look in to it.
Well done. Thanks for sharing. A very, very well considered tutorial. I for one really appreciate you taking the time to film, edit and explain how you went about this. I'm impressed in particular with your removable hitch. Good thinking. My complements to you.
Good day. please tell me what is the length of the residential module without the alcove above the cabin and the porch? And what is the weight of the whole house turned out at the exit? Thank you.
Looks great! The only thing I don't understand is the purpose behind bolting the hitch on as opposed to welding it on. What was the reasoning behind that?
For many different reasons. One is so it doesn't look like a trailer when it's parked and 2 so it won't be towed off when I'm at work. Tiny houses have been stolen. This makes it harder. I have a video going over the removable hitch. Check it out.
Side note... since you build custom house trailers and such.... I was looking to design a frame for a 20' trailer... something that would be good for semi-offroad. Basically a chassis for a 20' container that's being used as a bugout vehicle. Your thoughts?
franchement cela me plait du travail de pro avec une belle finition une petit question combien sa coûte chez vous cette base pour une tiny House a bientôt pour d'autre vidéo
Tiny Nest no i hadn't except for the propane tank wood stove I built. i was a contractor for 10 years with a specialty in framing. but if you can cut and build things out of wood why not with metal to. And thanks for watching. been enjoying your build to.
Hi With the heavy gauge steel you used, could stick (mma) welding be used? - and thanks for the video and your comments responses. Very cool giving this all for no money. Quality guy!
Since many of us, like me, don't have the tools or skills to do this, what kind of trailer would you recommend for purchase to build our own tiny house on? I want to build on a 28' trailer.
Hi great job with a trailer and excellent presentation, videoing and editing. What is the total weight of the trailer. And what max weight Is it designed to carry? This has definitely inspired me to build my own. Last question; do you think it would have been better to make it out of the box section which would then make the Weld joints a lot easier to execute?
What considerations were given to the axles you used, weight, how far you plan to haul, Or did you basically determine the maximum weight and bought the minimum you could get away with for the least amount? I wonder if relocating is given much consideration when building a Tiny House and the trailer, I haven't looked beyond this video so I don't know if when building your house if you thought of ever removing the house to set it on a foundation, is that ever a consideration? What is each Axle rated for?
if you had built with 12 inch I beam and sunk your deck like a tub you could have gained about 18 inches of headroom in your lower level sleeping area and had a frame with about 6 times the stiffness of your current one. cool build, but a 5 minute conversation with an engineer could have made this truly epic.
I understand how you're saying that the deck would sit lower, but wouldn't that make the entire frame sit higher off the road? How would he have mounted the wheels and still had that extra space your suggesting??
Two questions, could you do this with a flatbed trailer (like not home built like you did) and get the same quality, and when building something like this, how do you make sure it keeps steady when towing (like movement, wind resistance, etc)
Great video. Before ordering an axle I want to be clarify a couple things-What is the hub to hub or overall axle length? We are building out to maximum allowable with out lookers. Is Center to Center for the leaf springs the same as the main frame dimension width with the hangers directly below the channel? Tire size? Thanks
I thought that if I built it similar to what you did. .then I could cut the back of my cabinets to fit and then my cabinets would even set back a little more and I could still utilize for space. What is your thoughts?
+Jeffery Grigg Im a huge fan of the elevated floor to eliminate the wheel well all together. Not sure if you've gone deeper into the vids but my mechanical room is awesome and I think it's one of the best features in the house. But if you want those tall ceiling then yeah your idea sounds perfect.
7 years and still one of the best tiny home build series.
Tiny House Tips Thanks a lot. I was just looking at Tumbleweed's prices. Looks like I have a comparable price.
Amazing how big the trailer looks for a tiny house. Leveling jacks can lift the weight. I have a friends with a 43’ diesel rv and the leveling jack lift it easily. It’s all in capacity.

Looking forward to having ago thanks for your support. Look forward to the next stage of the Tiny home.
Well made in America!!! Well thought!!! I love the dog whom is very noticeable part of the family!!!
Hey man I really appreciate you explaining everything you do that's pretty cool makes me feel like I could actually do this
Thanks for a simple quick video without all the fake personality. Informative and focused. Excellent video. Can you give us an idea of cost without labor?
You are very eloquent and clear with how you made this. Great job man.

I used this as a guideline for my tiny house trailer. thanks a bunch.
Very nice video. You have a calm voice and it was easy to understand. Thank you.

+Wishmaster333 Any update from you on the tiny house?

Watching the pup in the background was definitely the highlight of this video 🤣🐕
Nice solid design. That hitch is epic.
Nice job buddy! You do great work. No short cuts and extra beefy! I can only imagine the quality of your tiny house.

Damn son. I can't believe this is 7 years old already. TH-cam recommendations comes through again. Miss you dan. Send my love to peanut
I enjoy your videos I'm planning to build my tiny home soon.

Will do! Watching as we speak! you really go all out, I am sure it will be no trouble if I need some tips!

what's the budget??? material list and measurement??? design plan??? Would love to build my own, AWESOME WORK MAN
Hmm for that metallic skeleton maybe 5K? Once fully completed maybe 10k?

No idea
Keep on keeping on. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
Great video!!! Wish I could weld like a pro.

... nice job ... just finished a 26 foot trailer ... wish I had that plasma cutter
+Mike Johnson The trigger on the plasma cutter was broken so it was a pain to use, but yes over all why better than a grinder.
VERY cool trailer build. You should do well selling these.
I loved the outtake at the end! Epic!

Love the removable hitch design! Thank you for sharing, and thank you for the thoughts on scissor jacks!

It surely is a nice custom made frame trailer, but what is the cost? Thanks
Thank you for taking time to document this!
+Dragoro Dragozinho It's a pleasure so no problem.
Dude. Great video. Great work editing, I could swear it was a professional edit. I'm gonna watch all your vids for sure.
Question: Why is the hitch on the top side of the trailer? Or am I looking at it wrong?
Would it be cheaper to make one or buy one?
Hi great job with a trailer and excellent presentation, videoing and editing. What is the total weight of the trailer. And what max weight Is it designed to carry? MATE MATE YOU ARE LEGEND
Hi where can i get plans to build a trailer like yours?
Where you at Dan we all miss ya...
How much does the trailer frame cost and can it be towed by a car before building on it?
Oh sure! It's easy when you have an awesome, fully equipped tool shop. All I have is a hand grinder, drill and a Bernzomatic flame solderer, lol.
Hey man, do you have the building plans for this please? It's the best I seen 😎
Thanks for the reply. I had kinda figured 4-5 inches.
+Jeffery Grigg Yeah. You can always make it smaller with wood. Or hang trim over to make it look smaller.

Awesome job
if you buy a trailer, can you just start after you finished your trailer or is it different?
Great video! Thanks so much.
Is it okay if we make a strong wood frame?
do you have for sale metal trailer plans if so send link please great video
10/10 would call this awesome and helpful.
Nice!! I'm ready to build one like this in my garage!!🤔🤪🤪
Nice.
Do you have a detailed plan of your trailer build for sale?
where do you put the water tank?
Thanks for a really helpful video! Liked the dog inspecting and giving moral support!!! DE
what was the total cost to build?
The little doggie also contributed to your work.
Does the DOG supervisor get credit in the making of the trailer?
Peanut becomes a regular as the build progresses. You gotta keep watching.
I was about to say some thing similar! It did a great job keeping them in line 🤣
You think 4 bolts are good enough for the removable tongue to hold all the weight once the tiny home is built
+Sebastian szylkowski there's 6. Plus the way the brackets hang down, it's strong enough. It's pulling on the brackets not the bolts.
Can I get the material list for this build?
Hey Dan awesome job on the house Brother !
zac denns Thanks man! Its been a fun project to do. Very satisfying plus i get to watch it all back over again once I'm done. Thanks for watching
Wow Amazing nice thanks for give wonderful video
