I came for the pond ive stayed for everything after. keeping things real and grounded in these times with so much fake stuff is refreshing Neil. Im glad to see the snowmobile break down like it did not because i wish you harm or for things to go wrong but your daughter showed you she listens and that she can tell the difference with her equipment that she's in tune with it. hmm seems off smells wrong etc. Then you got to fix it together thats the stuff they remember in years to come hey dad remember when we almost caught the snowmobiles on fire with the nest then the fuel line broke etc. you making memorys with them. my 3 girls are always saying things like that its awesome
Your weekly videos are great! Please don’t feel like there is any expectation when it comes to how much effort you make. This week’s video was perfect! You are a true story teller and it’s like watching a weekly video update from a friend!
We tuned in, we enjoyed watching. Thanks for taking the time to put something together. Your channel is one of the best and sooo looked forward to each week.
I envy your community. It’s so cool you live within site of your parents and brothers.🙏🏻😇. I know you mentioned it in past but today’s prospective really showed how close but far you and your family live together. You’re so blessed Neil. We have such a graceful God.
Great video Neil. I'm always impressed with how level-headed your girls are. Most youngsters would have smelled something strange and decided they were having too much fun to stop.
Neil, anything you want to post is fine by me. No matter what it is, I’ll be here every Sunday to watch it. This channel including the whole family is humble, which is a beautiful change from everything else online.
Glad you got home safe. Do your daughters realize how much you love them. A lot of dads would've said "I'm not getting the snowmobiles out for that little bit of snow" Glad that you had very little problems with the sleds. They can be a maintenance nightmare. Especially the older machines. You're a good papa.
Hi Neil, this is my first time commenting on any of your videos. I started watching your channel when you began the Pond project and immediately became a subscriber. I enjoy everything you post, your narrations and the occasional dad jokes that you slip in. I especially enjoy how you show us the behind the scenes in what it takes to produce these videos. An amazing amount of work and commitment. I just wanted to say thank you for producing and posting these videos and I do hope, for selfish purposes, that I will continue to see your videos in the future.
Appreciate you watching and subscribing! I’m honored to read your first comment too. I’m happy to Make the videos if people are still enjoying them. Thanks again!
I've been traveling for over 20 years throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico, your travel story brings back a lot of memories, good and bad, glad you made it home safe, I drive everywhere now, staying in the mid-west area, cannot stand getting on a plane. Those older snowmobiles bring back a lot of memories with my kids as well, great short video!!
I really appreciate you still supplying a video, it would have felt like somerging was missing without it. However, this made me realize the value of your effort and production value. I found myself getting bored and skipping ahead where im usually captured by your content.
I appreciate your dedication to quality, but there's nothing wrong with an update like this every once in a while. In fact, I enjoy it! You've gotten so good at what you do that there's very little drop off from your normal videos - from the novice's eyes. It's much more important that you don't burn yourself out.
I’m the youngest of four boys. My oldest brother built a house on the property we grew up on. I have one that lives next to our field. I live a half mile down the street from our property. From my bedroom window I can see my third brothers house about 1.5 miles away. He lives in the house we lived in before we move to our farm in 1982. We are the fifth generation to call it home and we now have the seventh generation enjoying it. So all that said I appreciate and can relate to the closeness of your family.
Hey Neil, great video! Always enjoy seeing you spending quality time with your family! Thanks for keeping us updated on your week's events. Like others have said, watching your video's feels like a weekly chat with family and friends!
You continually surprise me with quality and great videos to watch. I have enjoyed you and your stories and will continue to. You are my Sunday morning reality before church.
Fun stuff Neil and I am certain you know how blessed you are with family so close and a supportive partner. I know you work hard and have earned everything you have and that is what I enjoy seeing. Just to know how life could be instead of the hand I was dealt. Great kids and I bet it was hard for them seeing all that snow and you out of town, but they know you would be there if you could. And you came through before the snow completely melted. You have a great family.
Nice job with the "one take"...😊😊😊 Lol... Your daughter was smart to stop... and not freak out!!! Glad that you were able to watch the games while you were away!!!
I feel like you over criticize a bit.... pretty sure 99% of us just love seeing our weekly update from a fantastic family. Though production and editing are fairly important, its your content and wholesomeness that makes your channel great ❤
Love the family content sir? Always a pleasure with any vidoe that you put out. Just seems relaxing for some reason. Thank you for bringing us along sir.
Good morning Neal from Kentucky! Good to see you on this fine Sunday morning. Your “easy button” video today adds another layer of raw and real to your channel. Thank you for what you do and how you do it. Keep up the good work. See you next Sunday. Take care. God bless
You just had yourself a ‘Planes, Trains ( almost! ) & Automobiles’ trip here, Neil!!! Sounds slightly awesome, actually!!! Makes arriving back home that much more sweet!!!
A pair of really nice old sleds! Too nice to call ditch pickles, which is the name we use for any old rusty and maybe not so trusty snowmobile, ha ha! You can solve your mouse problems with dryer sheets. A farmer friend taught me that trick. He stuffs his combine full of dryer sheets after harvest is over, and summer-izes his snowmobiles the same way. We’d always have foam air filters or wiring chewed up on our sleds until we started doing what he does, and haven’t had a problem since. 4 - 6 underneath and all around the engine does the trick. Thanks for your work on your awesome channel!
Great to see you in 2025. Loved the format of this one. “Day in the life” stuff is what I love about your videos, especially this time of year when we are having 40C (104F) days here in Southern Australia. (Hotter up North) Say hi to your Mom from down under! Looking forward to more farm/workshop/earthmoving/firewood content. Our heating in the winter is wood, too, and we are now enjoying the fruits of planting our Eucalypt firewood plantation nearly 40 years ago. Thanks again and enjoy the coolness!
Very much enjoy your videos. I love to see how the rest of America lives, works and plays. Growing up in the shadow of LA you don't get the full picture of family life across America is like.
Happy New Year from Calgary, Alberta. Snowmobiles are fun. It is good that you found the mouse nest, especially with the gas leaking. Thank you for sharing your day with us.
Even though some people (Neil) say that they have failed to make a good Video each week, they still do a Phenomal Job. Great that you were able to get in that Family Time and (an even Better Note) that you have educated your Daughters to Stay Alert for problems. Glad Everyone is Safe! Your trip Home sounde a bit like a couple of Movies usally shown around Thanksgiving through Christmas, glad you didn't envision the Devel dring the car or suddenly remember defenseless young Kevin. LOL
Great „no video“ .. during your pond series, TH-cam decided to show me your videos in my feed. I was intrigued, stayed on and got to like your laid back attitude. It’s gotten to the point where I’m looking forward to Sunday for your videos. My main takeaway from your videos are not necessarily the projects, while interesting but how you and your (extended) family interact. So, I’m firmly in the camp “not every video needs a big production”. TH-cam has a tendency to burn out creators, so take care and just do your thing.. And if I’m lucky I will see you next time. 😉 Greetings from Germany
Went I woke up this morning I wondered, did Neil post a video. When I hopped on the computer, I was excited to see that you had posted. Thanks for sharing with us Neil, your videos are always watchable (no matter what you post).
This fall, I had some technicians work with our internal video group who produce for local television. It was very interesting how they shot it, and it basically took most of the day to shoot two 5 min videos for internal groups to watch. I was amazed when the producer told me that the rule of thumb is a 10 to 1 ratio. 10 minutes of shooting for one minute of video. That was in Oct, and it is now Jan, and we are just finalizing the videos after numerous edits, voice-over changes, video light, color changes, and, of course, the ever changing "approvals.....". So, the fact that you shoot these, edit them, and put them up in a week is pretty amazing. Good work.
Yes, it is quite a bit. Usually for me there is one hour of work behind every minute of video. This one is an exception as it only took me 3 hours or so to edit it but usually it is a fair bit more effort. Thanks for the comment and perspective!
This is why they have academy awards for editing. It will make or break a production, and Neil just knows how organically, with a little practice over last 10 ys or so.
How easy it is for people to take things for granted. We live in amazing times: watching your kids play basketball from across the country, hip replacements that have you walking the next day, fresh lettuce in January, and content makers like you that remind people of the world being good; it's just a matter of where you look 🙂
Enjoyed this one reminded me of my childhood. Every time it snowed big or little my sister n i would wait for my dad to get home n b so excited to see his truck pull in the driveway we were suited up n would meet him outside to ask CAN WE GET THE SNOMOBILES OUT lol with a big smile on his face let me get my coveralls on he would say then him n I would spend next several hours digging them out of the shed pulling spark plugs spraying gas n pulling out guts out lol. They were my dads sleds b I was born I’m an 80s baby n the sleds were all 70s sled but we still have them to this day a lot of memories on them tho thanks for sharing
Good Sunday morning Neil! Hope you enjoyed the holidays and your family is all well. I’m looking forward to what you have planned for the new year. See ya!
Wow! You must a got it all in one take. It's all so smooth. Your girls are very fortunate.... Hopefully they realize and appreciate it. Thanks so much deformed sharing 👋😎 🤎⚘️
No worries, one-take videos are always enjoyable. Maybe in a future video you can update us on your "new" firewood rack, like how long it lasts before needing to split more, what you would do different (if anything), was it worth the effort, etc...
Watching in the same hoodie from the beginning! 😂 didn’t think there would be a video today so I changed the oil in my 318. This type of upload was great! Still very well produced too!
It was great, Neil; thank you for taking the time. It seems you did a little more filming and editing than you initially stated in this video. Again, thx 🙏🙏🙏!
Good to see you folks doing fine. Your videos almost feel like a weekly long-distance call with family and friends. Appreciate your updates.
Enjoyed the video, its like asking a friend about their week.
Exactly. That’s what I was going for, so thanks!
So true!
Big part of the reason I'm here is the stories. And you provided one so I enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing 🙏
Your weekly videos are great! Please don’t feel like there is any expectation when it comes to how much effort you make. This week’s video was perfect! You are a true story teller and it’s like watching a weekly video update from a friend!
Enjoyed today’s video Neil. Perfect selection, watching the kids have fun on their snowmobiles and you still got to accomplish fixing something.
We tuned in, we enjoyed watching. Thanks for taking the time to put something together. Your channel is one of the best and sooo looked forward to each week.
Gracias como siempre por tus vídeos amigo
Te miro en la próxima 👍
Wow Neil that is one smart girl. You go girl.
See Neil our kids do listen to us haha
I envy your community. It’s so cool you live within site of your parents and brothers.🙏🏻😇. I know you mentioned it in past but today’s prospective really showed how close but far you and your family live together. You’re so blessed Neil. We have such a graceful God.
Warms the heart ❤️ to see the girls out on the snow machines. Brings back memories. 👍
Yay Neil! Absolutely anything you put out I am watching.... Love your stories!
Great video Neil. I'm always impressed with how level-headed your girls are. Most youngsters would have smelled something strange and decided they were having too much fun to stop.
Yes, I was very grateful she stopped!
Neil, anything you want to post is fine by me. No matter what it is, I’ll be here every Sunday to watch it. This channel including the whole family is humble, which is a beautiful change from everything else online.
Another awesome video. I love the out takes. When your wife are creating such a wonderful childhood for your girls.
Thank you for another beautiful Sunday morning.
Glad you got home safe. Do your daughters realize how much you love them. A lot of dads would've said "I'm not getting the snowmobiles out for that little bit of snow" Glad that you had very little problems with the sleds. They can be a maintenance nightmare. Especially the older machines. You're a good papa.
maybe more maintenance but the kids get to learn more fixing things than with brand new stuff and they get to see who cleaver their dad is
You should be proud of yourself and your accomplishments and how you’ve shown your daughters what life is all about 👍
You are a amazing dad🤗🤗
Glad you are back home. This was a great little video.

Hey Neil, great video! Always enjoy seeing you spending quality time with your family! Thanks for keeping us updated on your week's events. Like others have said, watching your video's feels like a weekly chat with family and friends!
That was brief, but still worth it. I loved seeing the snow mobiles get a run and open up a little. Neil great video and will see you on the next one.
You continually surprise me with quality and great videos to watch. I have enjoyed you and your stories and will continue to. You are my Sunday morning reality before church.

I feel like you over criticize a bit.... pretty sure 99% of us just love seeing our weekly update from a fantastic family. Though production and editing are fairly important, its your content and wholesomeness that makes your channel great ❤
Yes, I over criticize for sure…
See, I just did it again!
😬
Mid western, humble DNA. Which is a good thing.
Love the family content sir? Always a pleasure with any vidoe that you put out. Just seems relaxing for some reason. Thank you for bringing us along sir.

Loved the video Neil! At 7:18 I had to rewind it to find you…look at that suit!!
I was very uncomfortable in that suit!
I have not been so jealous in a while. Not one but TWO old sleds😫 You are blessed, Neil! SEND IT

Very well said. Thank you.
My first sled was a 1980 Enticer 340 in the sun burst colors just like yours. So many great memories on that thing!!
Nice video Neil. Simple and fun. Nice the girls enjoy the older sleds. Take care

Your girls are very fortunate.... Hopefully they realize and appreciate it.
Thanks so much deformed sharing 👋😎
🤎⚘️
❤happy to see you. ✨🕊️👋🏼🇨🇦
Hey Neil you don't have to have videos with a bunch of crazy intense content. I liked this video 87% as much as your regular top notch production.
The sunset behind you was stunning. I'd love to see more landscape shots like that. Can you do that for us? They make great wallpaper screens.
That was a nice sunset.
Wow, you clean up pretty good. I enjoy watching the snowmobiles. Grew up riding them.
No worries, one-take videos are always enjoyable. Maybe in a future video you can update us on your "new" firewood rack, like how long it lasts before needing to split more, what you would do different (if anything), was it worth the effort, etc...
good to see you are ok, in southern indiana we got 12" of snow
Watching in the same hoodie from the beginning! 😂 didn’t think there would be a video today so I changed the oil in my 318. This type of upload was great! Still very well produced too!
It was great, Neil; thank you for taking the time. It seems you did a little more filming and editing than you initially stated in this video. Again, thx 🙏🙏🙏!
Well yes, but compared to normal it was very little! Felt like “nothing “ other than the stuff I did for work of course.
