One of the most refreshing sermons I have ever heard… It would strike some others as weird that I get peace from knowing that I am wretched and utterly depraved. I get the peace because Jesus is my advocate. I need a savior. Defeating sin is not like what our coaches and teachers told us in high school (you can do it with will power). I need Him. I am weak. We are all utterly depraved. Things began to change when I accepted this. It’s not will power to defeat this sin. Sanctify me Lord Jesus so I can tell others that it was only you and not my will power.
It's a hard pill to swallow, but we must understand that our emotions, as powerful as they are, are often an enemy of truth. Whether we feel God's present or not, He's there; whether we feel things like gratitude, joy and love or not, we need to conduct ourselves in a grateful, joyful, loving way. Turn the abstract noun of love into a verb and love others actively whether we feel love or not. To a large extent, what we feel is irrelevant, especially when we use our feelings as an excuse to sin. This is what I'm learning as part of my sanctification.
I love this sermon. I have listened to it many times as I desperately needed to understand the wretchedness still in this body of death, which I hate. Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Once you were alienated from God and enemies in your mind because of your evil behavior. But now He has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation. Colossians, 1v.21-22
Read Romans 6 - we better not concentrate on sin, we are a new creations and we cannot sin but IF we sin not when we sin we have a advocate with the Father and he will forgive!
Your sins past present and future are forgiven once you are saved. However, we must change and not continue repeating the same sin. You need to respect your God and his forgiveness. it's not an insurance policy so you can ignore daily repentance in prayer. Once saved always saved, yes but your reward in Heaven will be determined by your continued relationship with God after you are saved.
@@1badplayer Limited Atonement - Because God determined that certain ones should be saved as a result of God’s unconditional election, He determined that Christ should die for the elect alone. All whom God has elected and for whom Christ died will be saved (Matthew 1:21; John 10:11; 17:9; Acts 20:28; Romans 8:32; Ephesians 5:25).
@@donhaddix3770 The question was. Who as in some one either yourself or another claims God is playing craps concerning salvation. To do so is to sin against God and his saving work. Limited atonement as sound doctrine is not a game of chance as can be gleaned from reading Romans 9:22-23 KJV - What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, So if I may ask again. Who claims God is playing games with the salvation of his people. Certainly not me.

This is a killer sermon, not preached about in the majority of churches today. How many churches have you attended and sermons have you heard without any mention of sin.... Without the recognition of sin and accepting what the Lord God calls sin and agreeing with the Lord God I cannot advance with the Lord God. 'Look the LAMB OF GOD COMING TO TAKE AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD'..... Convict me Lord God of my sin and help me not to be to proud to hand it to You. I need Your RIGHTEOUSNESS Lord God not my own, YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS ONLY.

My. Favorite pastor for thirty years..ilisten to him all day)
That it's. I would prefer someone explain that just when I was born again in 1978 than understand it in 2022, after many battles and sorrows.....
Big time on that brother John MacArthur is a teacher and a main source of wisdom for this generation. He's dead serious about it too
I saw another video, in the Belief category, that really worked! It had video of natural scenery, like a music video.
Amen

but only for the winners of God's dice roll in Calvinism.
Who claims God rolls dice!
No one I know of would suggest such blasphemy.

Why in the world do you show a picture of another person but couple it with Dr Mac Arthur's name and work?
