I, too am thrilled for the return of the Silkstones. I also love the articulation. I love the retro look and I have collected Silkstone dolls since it was first introduced and I was really disappointed that it got discontinued. I think this is a stunning doll and is well priced.
When I fell in to the art of doll collection (and yes it's an art 😊) although I haven't really started yet, I watched a lot of unboxing videos and once a friend gave a silkstone one of the old body's I think its the original body for that popular with that pink gown, and I also have one of the new articulated body, but although I love them all the same cause I just love all dolls , but I find the old body type brings some sort unique and sophisticated look to whole doll experience in general, and this is just NY opinion and in no intention to make opinion bad , but to me , I don't know but there's just something really unique and endearing about the old body type , I currently have it displaying on my table wearing one of the birthday barbie dress and with no head but it just looks amazing and I really love it
I can’t wait to unbox mine. My collection started with BFMC Silkies, and they will always hold my heart. As for the articulated body, I wouldn’t mind it if they just kept the original body size! I adore the original Shani body style that the silkies have. She’s now so thin her head looks big. But I still love her lol.
I was also very late for the BFMC, as well as the Silkstone Grace Kelly. I’ll never stop regretting that one. I was able to get the last BFMC that came out (the one with the Chanel inspired piece), and then I got all the Pink Collection silkstone. I’m so glad BFMC is back, with normal accessories, and I just ordered the second one.
She's lovely. The shoe situation is interesting. I thought those were boots not tights. I have 2 classic body fashion model silkstones and 2 articulated ones and in some ways I prefer the stiffer dolls. They come across as more classy, more vintage, more curvy, and better dressed while the articulated dolls feel like they suffer a little from Mattel doing some budget cuts.
I love Sapphire and am a bit shocked that she's not sold out yet. Evidently, the blue hair and booted stockings were sticking points for many. But i honestly feel she is well worth $75, especially when you compare her with Platinum Swirl Pony, who came out around the same time for the same price and with the same run of no more than 20,000. I have and love Swirl, but Black Magic is a very simple ensemble as is the standard vintage Barbie golden clutch she comes with. And her short black gloves were glued or taped onto her hands! I had to carefully peel them off then clean off the residue. Not good, Mattel. Yet, Swirl is currently selling on eBay for $175-200! I don't get it. I love vintage, too, but to my mind you get a lot more for your dollar with Sapphire than you do with Swirl. 🤷♀️
I got her and love her. She’s my 1st silkstone and I don’t know where to put her. Did you guys get the second one they released last month? The swirl ponytail?
Great review guys ,i haven’t gotten her if her hair wasn’t blue I would have. I extremely excited BFMC is back i started out collecting silkstone before I got hooked on IT.I will say I will be a heavy critic of the silkstone dolls to come they have so much potential .I give blue sapphire a 6.5 out of 10.
I didn't like the outfit, not crazy about articulation and wasn't sure what skintone she is meant to be, black or hispanic? Indian? I hate fantasy hair and the jewellery looks a lot cheaper than on the older dolls. I'm glad they're back but I'm busy collecting the old ones. Her face is pretty. The boot thing is funny since it's the pro articulation crowd that love redressing dolls. Integrity is great if you have 💸 💵 💵 💵. I found I only bought one doll my whole year in the club and hate that elitist model of selling.

I am always a fan of articulation. The silkstone body plus the articulated joints make this doll a win for me.
