Jane is a treasure. Her website is truly a gift to all watercolor artists. 1 of my top reference sites.
Thank you!
Hear, hear!
I wish there would have been close ups
Sorry about that. It would have been better to have zoomed in a little more for you.
Jane is such a great teacher . 🥰
Thank you. I love teaching 😊
Jane is the BEST! Her website is one of the most informative watercolor sites you will find anywhere-just a wonderful reference. I tell everyone I know, especially anyone just starting in watercolor, to take her online class MASTERING WATERCOLORS. For beginners, it will introduce them to using a limited palette. For more experienced artists, it will introduce you to mixing and using triads, and so much more. If you have the opportunity to take a live workshop with her, you will be totally amazed at how organized she is, and how much you will learn, no matter what your level of experience is. She is definitely a treasure!
Jane has always been so inspiring. I have been making the perfect black using Phthalocyanine Green, PH7, since 2010. But learned it from Susan Harrison -Tustain. Used with any Alizarin type hue, you get the perfect black. In Daniel Smith brand, I already use that mix. I learned watercolor mixing with only 9 Schmincke colors from Susan Harrison -Tustain, a Master Artist that travels the world. She makes the blackest black from Phthalo Green blue shade (PG7) and Alizarin Crimson or any Alizarin hue substitute.
Awesome video Ive used Jane's blog on color for YEARS this is so cool. Thanks for all your work Jane!
Everyone should do the course of Jane! Loved it and after 2 years I still am using most colors of her palette. Thank you, Jane!🎉
Hi from Melbourne, Australia. I really want to get your book on colour-mixing, Jane. You’re my colour-mixing guru! (I often use your first combination to make black.)
Greetings fellow Artist, Eric and Jane from Woodinville Washington. I love thse tips.
Her technique works in any medium, and fun to experiment with.
This was WONDERFUL!! I just came over from Jane’s blog, actually LOL She is definitely the go-to person for anything related to colour. I have so much to catch up on Jane’s blog 🤗There is SO very much to learn. Jane is such an asset to the art community ❤️👏
Edit: I am off to do this exercise!!
I’ve had a lovely morning painting colour strips. It made me use colour combinations with colours I don’t typically reach for. Phthalo Green (blue shade) being top of that list. (Had been thinking of eliminating it from my pallet). Some surprisingly results came from Aureolin and indigo. I would have through I could get green from yellow ochre and cobalt blue, but didn’t. Nice gray’s though. Still have oodles of combinations to try out. Great exercise. Thanks Jane!
Phthalo Green BS is a terrific mixing colour, though I would almost never use it alone. I have a blog post that shows it in detail.
Hello from Arizona
Hi from Southport North Carolina
Just WOW!!!!!
Zoom out more, I can still just about see the innovative surprising colors.
I would love to sign up for Watercolor live but with the new program they are using I had a terrible time trying to watch Realism Live on my iPad the first day so ended up asking for a refund
Any idea where we can buy the water containers? Thanks
Was it ever mention the brand of the metal palette?
What shade is the pathalo green….yellow shade or blue shade?
What brands are you using
I have used Daniel Smith since 1995.
Hi,I bought my first 'silver brush 'should I avoid pushing on base of rinsing jar ?
You may need to give it a gentle push on the bottom of the rinsing jar, but don't put it too deep in the water and be gentle.
Which thalo green?? Pg37 is in my palette..for plein air.
Oops pg 37
It's PG7. Phthalo Green blue shade. PG36 is Phthalo Green yellow shade.
