Jeez I love this song. And such a joy to see Neil pounding it out. Like the way he tilts his head when he hits the big cymbal. God he was such a incredible talent.

The Grand Master of percussion, Mr. Peart, makes a great song timeless.

This was a phenom drummer and in my opinion the best that has ever played rock drums. This group deserves your attention as well. Smart enough to know who is the best ever and lucky enough to have him playing on this song.

Because people suck and they would rather listen to something that is easily digestible like Taylor Swift...

If I was Matt I would've broke down in tears after that studio recording! We all know Matt, we all know he shed a few tears after this studio session!! That sort of goes without saying...

This song is a great example of Neil's greatness. How many drummers do you know who can take a strong song and make it even better? This is a fine song (really like the singer), but somehow, without overplaying, Neil does what he does and takes the song to a better place. Neil was true magic behind the drums.

Neil is great, but Vertical Horizon is a great band with or without him, VH did NOT need Neil on this track it was a privilege for Neil to be able to play on this track! Neil was a huge fan of this band, it was an honor for him to play with a legendary band like Vertical Horizon. He played on some of their other tracks on the album before this one too. They were BOTH lucky to work with one another. Matt is a f*cking musical genius as a songwriter, hands down!

One of his best. Great rapport with singer who is truly a fan as well as a good musician. Outstanding and an inspirational song. As a drummer who is heavily influenced by Neil, I cant stop watching. Makes me want to be better.

This is not the sole band I would have expected, out of so many, to get Neil to appear multiple times on their records. I wonder if it was just simply that they were the only band willing to humbly ask. I've heard that one hit of theirs in the 90's, but not this new stuff, until now. It's great, and this song specifically is a great setting for Neil's style. I hear the more progressive sounds of the band's sound in this song, that would perhaps more warrant Neil's playing. This is fantastic.

This recording session was made on 4/16/2012 and the Rush's last album, Clockwork Angels, was recorded between 2010 - 2011.
Could anyone tell me if this really was the last Neil Peart's studio recording?

Essa sessão de gravação foi realizada em 16/04/2012 e o último álbum do Rush, Clockwork Angels, foi gravado entre 2010 - 2011.
Alguém sabe dizer se esse foi mesmo o último trabalho em estúdio do Neil Peart?

I wonder how he approached this playing with another band on a song he had nothing to do with creating (he should have asked for some help with the Lyrics). Do you be Neil Peart or just a Drummer on a session keeping it tight and nonobstructive.. 0:26, he plays through that "Tight spot" like it's not there.

You're probably right about that. With the prep needed for R40, and Neil already suffering health issues prior to that final tour, and no talk of any Rush albums prior to R40, I'd highly doubt Neil had any studio recording time after this. Really glad that VH documented this event as they did. It's truly beautiful to watch Neil here, clearly still very strong and in his prime...the way he deserves to be remembered for eternity.
