Doing Your Part While Doing Your Job with MCAO Prosecutor Rachel Mitchell | AZ ROC

Rachel Mitchell has been a prosecutor for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for 29 years. For 25 of those, she has worked in the areas of crimes against children and sexual assault. Rachel teaches prosecutors and other professionals nationally and across Arizona in these areas. She chairs the Governor’s Children’s Justice Task Force. She also works on legislation and has received a number of statewide and local awards.
The Prosecution Integrity Program works with defense organizations outside the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office as well as prosecutors within our office to review and address items of integrity and conduct. This centralized process handles claims of actual innocence, potential inappropriate police conduct including alleged excessive use of force, and other claims of prosecutorial unfairness in handling cases. These types of matters have previously been addressed by individual prosecutors and supervisors, but by consolidating the process we can more effectively address these issues. www.maricopaco...
