I have a general handyman and maintenance business, it looks like I will need the B-3 (CR-61) LIMITED REMODELING AND REPAIR CONTRACTOR (RESIDENTIAL)/COMMERCIAL) license, is this correct? I will be doing work that relates to electrical and plumbing such as install a ceiling fan, or work on plumbing under a kitchen sink, is this allowed with this license? Are there any other tests that I need to take with this type of business. I am at the beginning of obtaining my ROC. Thank you so much.

I support the efforts behinds arizonas reforms for licensed contractors but the system is still far more excessive in its requirements than many other states like Maine, Louisiana, Washington, or Montana where there is no testing, and fees such as licensing and bonding are half what they are in Arizona. If Arizona wants to lead the pack, it has to follow its neighbors to the east especially Texas where licensing is not required, nor income taxes, nor workman’s compensation or liability insurances like surety bonds. But it is definitely a better system than California or Nevada

What is a Recovery Fund? What is it in layman's terms? So that we can actually understand what it is that we're paying for. Assuming that that's the reason for these videos is to educate

Couldn’t you say that compared to other alternatives from other states, such as Texas, Tennessee, or Louisiana, the requirements put forth by the board could have adverse impacts to consumers, competition, and certain groups of contractors with either no education diplomas, background history, and low test taking skills from entry to the industry? I would say these licensing laws are narrowly tailored to ultimately harm the minorities in the state, and have adverse impacts to the economic well being as well as access to good paying jobs, or affordable housing of many Arizonans. There’s a reason why Arizona has lower homeownership rates and high costs than certain states like Maine Vermont Texas or Tennessee and it’s because “neutral” policy decisions like these with not pro competitive justification or benefit are allowed to exist and harm consumers and the whole economy, hopefully these restrictive and otherwise discriminatory policies are changed soon.

The amount of classifications is ridiculous

I live in Phoenix AZ, I was told I may need an license to install barn doors (residential). I would be mounting these over existing structural\ door openings.. another function my company may be doing is building and installing cabinets such as laundry rooms and installing new doors to existing kitchen cabinets. What license will I need to apply for this?. Thank you very much.

The investigaters won't even do their job and investigate the acts of the contractor after they ruin your house. Filing a complaint is a waste of time.
