The Butchers are back, it doesn surprise me either ,its none of my business what you do with the fish you catch, but you are setting a bad example by keeping every fish you catch , I wonder is it in your nature Stian to catch and release, I fish on a river that would not have .5% of the fish that run through the Alta , and every salmon we catch is released,
If your goin to post videos on you tube , post ones where you are releasing the salmon, it might surprise you the respect you will get from fellow anglers who are not as fortunate as you ,and who can only dream of fishing a mighty river like the Alta , and catch fish like that.
You are killing the goose that lays the golden egg.

It's one of favorit countries,and yest they keep every fish they catch. They don't care. It's a shame.They don't understand the old days are gone. And it is already low on salmon,every year the incoming salmon are less & less &less. They complain so themselves for Thor's sake!!

slaneysider Anybody who calls these guys "butchers" has another anti-fishing agenda. Just saying...BEWARE and take anything they might otherwise say with skepticism! Real fishermen do not speak about other anglers that way.

If only you could understand what they are saying after having caught the first fish. I do speak Norwegian. They are convinced that it is an escaped farmed salmon. They did the right thing in removing it from the river before it had the chance to propagate its genes. Godt gjort og gratulerer, Stian.
