We Lost Our 7-Year-Old Dog to Epilepsy: Our Vizsla Edgar’s Story

- This is the story of our family dog Edgar, a beautiful vizsla who died of epilepsy at age 7. Our hearts are broken, but I needed to share the story of his wonderful but short life in case it is helpful for anyone else struggling with canine epilepsy.

I found your video tonight. At around 6:45pm my 7 year old vizsla Odin was laying on my lap and suddenly fell to the floor. He acted like he was hurt, lying on his belly and side, not seemingly able get up. He was crawling in circles and I was trying to help him up but he was shaking and shimmying to much to do anything. After 2 minutes he got up and went to his water bowl and began drinking. During his episode, I called my mom to come over and he was almost back to normal. He did have trouble coming up the steps of my deck and bsnged his back leg. Once we got back inside the house he laid on my mom's lap. I don't know what he had going on with him. My mom thought it was the zoomies but I don't think it was. Your video brought tears to my eyes because Edgar was a lovely boy and he left too soon. Also, in 2022 Odin went through blastomycosis and after 16 months of that hell he was clean of it as of January 2024. They're here for such a short time and they fill our hearts with love and joy. @@timolson2047 I sincerely hope it was a one-time incident with Odin. Vizslas are just the sweetest dogs around and the zoomies are the best entertainment! I hope you have many years of fun left with Odin ❤️

@tryingnottotourist2588 We have a German Pointer and two Bavarian Mountain Hounds as well. Never a dull moment in my house 😅
