I own this vehicle. It’s an amazing car but be willing to put some work into it! It’s really not that expensive for maintenance. So don’t be afraid to buy one.

John Frutos I’m thinking of buying one it’s for 4500 with 130k miles on it.. do you think I should get it?

    • @johnfrutos5775
      @johnfrutos5775 6 ปีที่แล้ว +23

No I think you can find a better one you jus have to look. Honesty, mileage’s don’t really matter it just means it has been driven a lot more thus, more auto work has been done on the vehicle which could be a good thing but a bad thing if you don’t know the service history. If the car is good condition and has a good owner than yeah.

A day away from purchasing this car and couldn’t have found a more balanced assessment of its pros and cons. Thanks for this meat-and-potatoes, straight-forward review without the needless bells and whistles that serves no purpose other that to camouflage lack of substance . EXCELLENT JOB!

    • @godfatherofcinema

Found a red one with 160000. Had some work done, a lot of standard stuff like tires, control arms, hoses, etc. Altogether almost 3g but it was worth it. Engine and tranny are tight. Don’t buy expecting a perfect car and plan in some repairs. If it tests ok and doesn’t leak buy it. 3000 is a very good buy, imo. Good luck

The Hard Top convertible price from a private seller is from 6800 to 9800
Based on very good condition and, 86000 miles.
I really do not understand the vast difference in prices, unless a lot of people are paying a premium.
The car has a cheap plastic merged with leather in the interior.
A lack luster amount of horse power for a premium priced sedan.
The review was nonsense as far as it making 140 mph and, a 200 hp ford full size pickup will eventually get to 90 mph.
The convertible is very nice and I would think of it as a ladies car rather than a sporty sedan.
Considering the problematic nature of the car and the expensive repair cost to own, there are better choices out there for eight to ten thousand.
Who wants to be stuck waiting on a tow more than two times a year?
You do have a badge though and, with this car that's what your paying for.
I'm sure you could get a car with a cheap interior much lower miles and more hp with a better service record.
A 4.7 Dodge Dakota quad cab would be a better choice.
They actually have Mercedes design in the engine and, about 230 hp with more rear leg room and a nice rear bed to haul anything large.
Just put a Mercedes emblem on the hood and your off and running.
I was excited looking at the BMW recently until I checked into what the negative aspects were.

These are a great value once you find a well maintained one. My biggest concern would be the plastic electric water pump and plastic cooling pipes. Thankfully there are kits available and even if I bought one that wasn't leaking I'd change everything over as a preventative measure.

I’ve just got to put it out there; a lot of the premium and luxury makers used a soft coating on their plastics, and no matter what happens, those coatings always break down over time.
From Volvos to BMWs, it doesn’t matter. If all of the surfaces were nicely padded, then I couldn’t care less that small buttons and bezels were hard plastics - they’d actually last that way.
Italian cars were probably the worst for this, since their soft coatings would actually melt down and leave a sticky/tacky residue on the surface of the plastics! And that was from Fiat, to Maserati, all the way up to Ferrari!
But this Bimmer looks good for now. Most of the German cars just had peeling and flaking problems, not melting, but those plastics’ surfaces are slowly starting to rub off, and once that sets in throughout the car, it’ll look horrendous!
