There has been no scientific study to back the claim that farm fires in Punjab contribute to air pollution in Delhi, NGT member Justice Sudhir Agarwal has said and added that imposing fines and jailing farmers of the state over stubble burning, calling it a grave injustice. A similar study was done by the Punjab Agriculture University that claimed that stubble burning is not the reason for the rise in air pollution levels in Delhi. However, the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab government took the harshest. Last year, the Punjab government imposed environmental compensation (EC) worth Rs 2.4 crore on farmers across the state for burning stubble.
In the next segment, Manpreet sheds light on how Punjab Chief Minister has promised to make Jaladhar West the best. He was campaigning for the AAP in Jalandhar West by-polls. Has CM forgotten his promise to create a Rangla Punjab? Has Rangla Punjab been made? The AAP government has not yet fulfilled the promises it made before the assembly elections in 2022.

Delhi should manage its pollution itself, but farmers too should stop burning stubble to avoid casualties and pollution in Punjab. NGT observations are to push the BJP agenda in Punjab.

Respected Randhawa sahib u r intelligent journalist, but yr heading,, u know very well it is very true that stubble burning in punjab doesn't affeect delhi pollution, not a penny was realised from peasents, but farmers are doing is right, are you supporting stubble burning in punjab, bjp is making way to punjab through ngt, I am well educated kisan putter, how many caulities accur in punjab in rabi and khrif season, do not support so called kisan unions to burning waste crop residue
