Thanks a lot for watching and safe journeys!
One thing I love most about your style is how you don't just take us right to the location- you take us on the journey. Including wrong turns, asking for directions, dead ends etc. Seeing you think out loud re: logistics keeps it so real! Love it man!
Beaches so untouched, you might find more seashells than tourists (and that's saying something). Definitely a remarkable place to see.
Gabe, loving this taste of Hawaii, thanks for all you do to make these videos. Never seen much about Molokai, very cool to see how low key it is!
What caught my attention were the interestingly grown trees and the amazing range of colors from shades of blue to rusty brown.
Molokai is not for everyone, but for those adventurers and rock climbers who like peace and quiet - a complete paradise.👍
Wow, almost 600 K subscribers. I discovered you back in 2016 when I was doing research about my upcoming trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand. I think you had 50 or 60 K subscribers then. I am probably wrong, but congratulations on coming so far. Happy Trails amigo. Cheers.
I hit 50k at the very end of 2016, I remember making a video about it in Morocco. Thanks for watching all this time. ✌️
It's been a true pleasure. You channel is my favorite. I too am from California and I really enjoy when you are in areas of the state I have never been. For example, The Lost Coast and The Marble Mountains. Good stuff.@@GabrielTravelerVideos
Another Awesome Adventure Gabriel Thank You 🙂❤👍Watching from NB Canada🙂
This island is so beautiful
You should go to the old Loran radio station on the west side of the island. Lots of history.
Gabe! I just came back from the Big Island and saw WHALES!!! and dolphins.... you need to take those boat rides with the rest of us tourists and really see the great sites too! The volcano is erupting, there is new land forming, a helicopter ride to see the volcanos, the star gazing and telescopes on Mauna Kea... don't miss out on places just because you want to stay away from "touristy" things. Please go back and see them.
So, there you go, Large Mammals in Hawaii... with babies.
PS. Google and Uber don't work the best there in Hawaii.
I LOVE the Molokai thumbnails!
High roller traveller 🎉. Living your best life man !
Thanks Gabriel for highlighting any Hawaiian island on your channel!! I know you made a quick stop on my island of Oahu not too long ago and that was very cool!! But...Molokai, I've always wanted to visit there. Thanks for sharing your travels and that's a nice little "Hawaiian time" you can enjoy after your non-stop traveling this year!! Aloha my friend!! Safe travels!!!
Wow ghost town in Hawaii so cool.
Going to Molokai in Sept. I can't wait. Been to Kauai, the big island, Lanai and Maui and Oahu many times, but never to Molokai. I'm so excited!!!!
Commenting for update replies. Hope you have a great trip!
No snakes. Sounds good to me.
Enjoying the video and seeing Hawaii. Thanks.
We want to island hop over to Molokai sooo badly!! It’s in the bucket list!! 🫶❤️
I could be too late for your visit to Molokai, but when I visited there - quite a few years ago - I just loved it. The people - so much fun - and the amazing history. It was the home of both King Kamehameha - there's even a special coconut grove that he planted and it's the home of hula. They had a hula school there when we were there.
The colors all around are amazing. 🌊 🌴
Fascinating Adventure! Enjoyed the exploration & insights into Hawaii's hidden gems. Thanks for sharing!
Molokai looks amazing with its lush trees energy beaches and blue skies, it’s a pity it’s so expensive
Everything looks so neat and perfect, it throws me off a little bit. Truman show aesthetic. I'd have to be in a certain mood to enjoy this.
Beautiful+Beautiful island ❤
Just outside of town to the west off Kolo Camp rd. you would have found more ruins to see in much worse condition and you even could have gone on, on that same rd and saw the abandon tent camp too.
From what I read on Google reviews the roads to the tent camp are chained up now.
Oh I just looked at Google earth for all my info. But that would make sense. That is all the real old ruins and dilapidated houses though.
I've never heard of Molokai, sounds amazing!
Love the video-muzak pairing
Cost of traveling in USA is insane! Hotels so expensive, eating out with tips, ridiculous. Is there anything if good value?
nope. Europe is cheaper than the US
I thought termites was a problem in warmer climates . Is their any vermin rats around ? Did that constance wind bother you ? Looks like a good wind power location .. Thanks Gabriel , great info , too.
your brother or family enjoy watching your adventures ?
Wow 😮 that's insane for a can of chili!
Over $20.00 for gallon of milk...Ferry gets there 1 day a week
@@eddvinci6725Ferry comes twice a week. The store he went to is more of a convenience store. Milk in Kaunakakai is between $7.50 and $8.50 a Gallon.
That's really not far off from what grocery stores in California are charging these days.
@Mr.Mzungu unfortunately it is everywhere, I live up northeast, and prices are crazy here 🙃
Hi Gabriel, the island is empty! The car rent the food expensive maybe far away from USA.
Could it be that the abandoned buildings are derelict company employee housing from bygone industry?
Nice post
What country are you going to next
I'm curious to find out as well, no idea yet.
You think, is it a resort island?, if it is a, dilemma, you need tourists for the revinue, but if you havent got affordable accommodation, no tourists....Or maybe the islanders dont want outsiders, if so, how do locals survive without that revinue?......A beautiful island, but very limited food choices, even if you self cater.....
This is not a resort island. The people turn down big developments that want to come here. The economy is based on ranching, pineapples, and sugarcane.
@@patrickw123 No pineapples or sugar cane being grown on Molokai for export.
They live old school, fishing hunting puaa's grow there own taro patch like dat. The people of molokai know how for live off da land.@Ponokaiguy
@@pkpiohia5773most of the income is from the government in the form of welfare programs.
STAY HOME HAOLES
We never been to Molokia. Thanks for sharing . ❤❤❤❤
The beaches are beautiful and the colours of the sea are amazing. Not an island for party amimals though😂 Interesting to note tgat the pine trees on the Hawaian islands are indigenous to New Caledonia.
Love molokai and its people
While I realize that Molokai is not the most popular of the Hawaiian islands and certainly very different, I do appreciate the fact that from time to time you show locations that are different and unique. I always learn something new about this amazing planet that we are living on with each new video that I watch. Thank you Gabe! 👏👏👏
Molokai is the most Hawaiian island. It's people do not want development because they see what's happened to their sister islands. Molokai is like a Hawaiian tribal island. You visit with respect for the culture and the land. Its very beautiful.
Hi Gabriel what camera/mic are you using?
DJI Action, there's a link below the video. ✌️
What does Walter reedy say about the West end??????
Why did the ranch closed down ? 'Yee-haw!
Why did you not go to a restaurant like Ohanas?
Because I didn't feel like driving for an hour there and back that evening. But otherwise it would be a good idea.
I don't think you actually found Molokai Ranch. That was housing for the plantation workers from many years ago. Molokai Ranch was much newer and more upscale. Luke with the Outdoor Boys channel was there a couple months ago and he explained why there isn't much tourism on the island. th-cam.com/video/G8DEiswIASU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kiJtENdX5Fzf4T08 Not everyone is looking for increased tourism, and you may not get the warmest welcome if you visit that particular island. I wish you would have asked a local person how to pronounce the name of the island, because yours was a little off. Don't always trust Google when looking for correct pronunciations.
Feel like you are the only human in the island.😀
its an nice place
People end up missing there bro 😂 keep it up
I wonder if they have hud housing or accept housing vouchers in Hawaii? It would be a pleasant place to live!!
Glad the 737 Max 9 no longer experiencing bolt problems and you likely made it to SFO prior to today’s 49ers Superbowl. Had my flights on Alaska cancelled in January, and it soured me on traveling. It’s encouraging that you’re still able to get flights without disruptions.
Looking forward to the game today, go Niners.
Google Wrong 🤣🤣Yes!
A beautiful place … so manicured and sorry but soulless … where were the people and workers?
This place is silly. Hope you enjoy the beaches because it definitely looks like the post cards I use to see pocketed in rotating racks.
Moloka'i is NOT a resort destination.
Moloka'i is INTENSE and intensely Hawaiian, intensely LOCAL.
Kaua'i is NOTHING compared to Moloka'i for localism.
Lānaʻi is another remote place which is advertised for the folks who LOOOVE to live off the grid.
Moloka'i and Lāna'i purposefully do not want to attract a throng of visitors.
They are places where people go when they have visited other Hawaii's islands, when they want to go see friends and relatives who live there, when they want to literally get away from it all, and well ... when, Ni'ihau will not let them in. (There might be a joke in here somwhere)
@@BhutWhut Native Hawaiians might not like the influx of foreign folks.
👍👍👍Super 👍👍👍
I guess I could save a lot of $$$$$ and book myself at the abandoned resort for a week.. LOL
Exactly. Just bring your ghost spray.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Haha yes and bug spray maybe lol
👍

Second actually.
Hi
❤❤❤
Seals have flippers.
Solid point.
No restaurants, no tourists :(

Third, congrats.
Damn Gabe, Teva, or Chaco or whoever needs to snag you for marketing....
Gabriel c'mon man you do not know how to make home-made chili? That canned chili is so bad I would not feed it to my dog.
👍👍❤❤💯💯
I'd rather goto one of the remote Philippines Islands or Zanzibar for fraction of the price. Flights are more but once you get there it's not as expensive as Molokai. Personally these vlogs are not convincing that it's worth that kind of money. Too bad you can't just rent a motorbike. Scooter would be fine.
The stalemate that followed a bitter tug-of-war between Molokai Ranch and the local community now has residents revisiting an old idea: Why not buy the ranch themselves?
Listed for sale in 2017 by a Singapore-based investment firm, the mostly deserted 55,575-acre estate has in recent years attracted developers hawking plans to farm organic biofuel for export to South Korea or generate wind energy for Oahu. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg reportedly considered buying it while on a Molokai hunting trip.
None of this talk has amounted to action. Meanwhile, assets ranging from a gas station and roads to resorts and an oceanfront golf course hang in a limbo of disrepair.
Community organizers proposing to buy the ranch face tough questions not only about whether an island of 7,400 people with the state’s lowest household incomes and highest unemployment can really pull off a $260 million land grab. But what, if the community does succeed, should be done with the vast acreage, which includes 20 miles of coastline, expanses of parched pasture, neglected roads, utility systems and a scarce supply of water.

5th 😊😊😊❤🇧🇦🇧🇦🇧🇦

Boom, got it, congrats. ✌️👊
Having our home advertised is so hard to see. This is our home - the last stronghold of Native Hawaiians on earth - we truthfully do not want tourism here & have been fighting for generations to keep our home for locals - and keep out tourism. We don’t want loads of visitors and especially not folks coming and buying up land that then displaces our locals. Molokai is not your tourist playground.
Visit but no forget to go home 🤙🏽
This must be a prank! My wife and I spent a month here one week! It's dire! The population hate you, only 1 Hotel and guy there has so many sidelines he practically runs the island! We know because he told us he did! Only access is via intermittent air service. Had to spend a week here as cost of Oahu and Maui ridiculously expensive. Nothing to do, tourist money is welcome but people are not. Signs saying Tourist go home ! AVOID! Its not that impressive landscape.Spend a month in Thailand for cost of 1 week here.
No come molokai
Whales.
Your trespassing. Why you foreigners always think you are entitled to everything?
Foreigners? I'm American and I've lived and worked in Hawaii. I guess you mean at the end of the video when I was investigating the abandoned buildings. I didn't see any No Trespassing signs and I highly doubt anyone would care if people check out those falling apart buildings.
Stay away from MOLOKAI AND KAUAI.
You can’t tell people to stay off those islands you don’t own them
Very uninteresting, SOULLESS, islands, very sad.
I enjoy all your videos except Hawaii because it doesn’t have much variety. It is way to expensive and the people don’t seem friendly and welcoming like India and other countries you have been.🤑🥹
