As a South African I wasn't expecting much from our national carrier but damn this is impressive, steak on a 2 hour flight plus lounge access? Definitely worth it
Until the airline gets privatized this airline will continue to be run by old people with old planes with old livery, vintage old seats and with an old workforce
Most CPT lounges have beautiful views…unlike JNB where there’s just interior views (though it has two great land side tarmac viewing areas…one being a nice little museum😊)
Had SA A320 this week in Economy on a 90 mins flight. Full meal service, great selection of drinks, real Business Class seats and a friendly and funny crew. Something, you won´t see in Europe these days. Hope, they find their way back.
I DEFINITELY enjoyed this video. I should start saving money for next year for my possible holiday trip to Namibia not just for a holiday but to also visit my extended family too.
There was a time when David/Felix used to write in the subtitles at the sound of the engine, "Music to my ears." 😊 I was waiting for it to appear at the roar of the engine, but it didn't appear... 😅

thx very nice, not sure why some of your videos have subtitles rather than a commentary but the ones with spoken voice are much more vivid and interesting, and easier to watch.
So happy SAA is going back to their world famous days :D (very slow but atleast we see progress!) Such a beautiful cabin... It's so different but represents Africa in a way!
On principle I would not fly this airline It was trashed and looted by ANC mismanagement. In 80’sand 90’s it was one of the best airlines in the world. You book your pay in advance and there’s no guarantee they will be around. Fly Safair is best inside S A
The sale of SAA cost the country billions that money should have gone to fixing hospitals, roads, schools etc. The SA government has been fitting the bills for SAA while the new company bennifits from the sale. More money stolen from the poor people of SA.
Worse airline in South Africa - booked once, ticket was never registered, lodged a complaint, they refuse to reply... never got to fly with them and never will...
Unfortunately, this airline is a shadow of its former self, just like the country. I was surprised to see that the airport had electricity. This isn't just me throwing shade, blackouts and load sharing are nowadays depressingly common over there.
I'm pretty sure areas where there are airports, hospitals, etc. Don't get affected by the power outages, correct me if I'm wrong though, it's been like a year since I've went to South Africa.
They probably have their own back up generators, for when problems might arise. I’ve been to CPT 3 times in the last 2 years and fortunately never experienced a black out…
Seems like you enjoyed! We are glad to have had you onboard and are excited for the future.

You'll get lounge access in business class for any airline
@@Sm1Smwhere-f4hto be fair we only had budget airliners flying domestically, since ComAir went bust.
THE TAXPAYERS paid for your steak dude. You can buy a whole cow for the price SAA charge.

Awesome video as usual Simply Avaition 🎉
Fantastic! Long overdue. Great to be back!
That evening light at 13:30, we call it the golden hour. If your house faces north or west, your interior will be shaded in gold
I went on a 737-800 and the staff were so kind, the plane landed smooth like butter,i love SAA
Spectacular view from the Lounge😍😍😍😍😍
Wow what a fantastic video!
Nice Video. Thanks for posting.
It is not the service that is the problem but the "business itself" - A never ending tunnel of losses
food Looked great…including that passion fruit cake!

The food looks fabulous 😍
The meal looks good! I hope SAA can return back to its glory days. Having a fleet of 11 is such a joke. Airlink has 65 planes and FlySafair with 34 😬
Thank you sooo soo much for uploading this trip report! Ight suggestion : Port Louis (Mauritius) to Perth (Australia)
Pristmangoode really created a beautiful interior for South African aircraft.
Your dessert was Grenadilla (Passion Fruit) cake. Not Pineapple. Very Souf Efricen!
Did anyone notice that at 4:45, on the tarmac, it's also saying the A300 and the A310 (ans other aircrafts that are out of service)
I DEFINITELY enjoyed this video. I should start saving money for next year for my possible holiday trip to Namibia not just for a holiday but to also visit my extended family too.

@jjhout5988 At least our money goes to something like this (which is good) and not filling the ANC's pockets .
I am sure SAA will turn it around if the government take their fingers out of the trough.
