      Thanks Andreas - it's always a lot of work with the additional graphics. Hope that made it even easier to follow.

    Great Tutorial Joel. Did you use the Pen Tool to make your selection of the tree ? Thanks for your help.

    • @JoelTjintjelaar
      @JoelTjintjelaar  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just partially. Because with amorphous, natural objects like trees, the selection decision process is as follows in order of preferred method:1. Contrast-based method 2. Color-based 3. Manual (pen tool). Since I couldn't do it entirely contrast-based, it was a combination of all three methods.

    Hi Joel, do you also do portraits with this panel?? If so, can you make a tutorial about that?

    • @JoelTjintjelaar
      @JoelTjintjelaar  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ryan, the subject matter and genre doesn't matter. The panel is suitable for everything. Actually, it is much easier to do portraits with this panel (keep in mind this is not a ' retouching panel' but a B&W processing panel) than to do architecture. If you look at one of the videos where I process still life, you can get an idea how to process organic objects. But yes, I should make a portrait tutorial too. Here's someone I know who's using the panel for portraiture instagram.com/henk_bijl/?hl=en

    Hi Joel, I am too curious about something I consider important for editing. What monitor do you use?

    • @JoelTjintjelaar
      @JoelTjintjelaar  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure on which computer/monitor I did this video. It's partly done on a Macbook Pro and partly on a desktop with either a BenQ or Apple Thunderbolt screen.

    Joel, I saw that you launched a new course called "Next Level B&W Fine Art Photography" and there is a discount if we buy it with the Artisan panel. I got all of your panels. And all your courses except the color one.
    Will you launch a code discount for the new course fo those who already had the Artisan Pro Panel?

    • @JoelTjintjelaar
      @JoelTjintjelaar  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We already did that last year when we launched the new video by informing all existing users of the panel about the discount for the new video. If you send me an email though I can look you up in the system and send you a code.

    Having just purchased your panels, BW Artisan Pro X and Quick Mask Pro; this is a timely tutorial to support my further understand. Thanks. Sorry, I missed the discount but its all about timing. PS Any more Quick Mask Pro how-to videos planned?

    • @JoelTjintjelaar
      @JoelTjintjelaar  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dashan, for the time being I'm trying to create more Artisan Pro tutorials and that's already time-consuming for someone who's not a videographer, but I'll be doing more on Quick Mask later this year, perhaps combined with an update to Quick Mask.

    Just bought these this week, late to the party but cant wait to see what I can do. Am still a big fan of ISGM and ISGM2 so this is amazing!! Be great to understand how this fits into that workflow though, if you get the chance! thank you for your continued work, I stil have fond memories of your course in New Yorkl!

    • @JoelTjintjelaar
      @JoelTjintjelaar  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For some reason I didn't see this comment... In any case, the way the panel fits into my workflow is that it basically replaces all the manual steps I had to do in my ISGM workflow, so less PS knowledge is needed. But not only that, it also makes several adjustments more accurate and faster, and some like the Special FX is too complicated to do manually.
