That shows great character development from him. But Joey taught her how to relax and enjoy the simple things (don't sweat a little spaghetti dropped on the floor, and enjoy a sandwich on a boat). He went from being an irresponsible mooch (yeah, he was a struggling actor, I know), to a responsible adult and good caretaker of a small child (you can't have S-E-X in front of the B-A-B-I-E), but Rachel taught him that a relationship could be so much more than "how you doin'?" It may not have worked, but he really tried to bring himself up to Charlie's level after his feelings for Rachel. Some would say it's a moo point after almost fifteen years (they're not necessarily wrong), but that fans are still talking it shows it was a realistic scenario that played out in such a way that it struck a chord with at least a sizable minority of the audience. And the "ending" (let me know if you want to hear my crazy fan theory) was such a cop-out that I hope for a pox upon the houses of the writers!

It’s so heartbreaking when you realise that Ross and Rachel hadn’t been together for over 6 years but he’s still not ok with them being together. You can tell from the start that Rachel and joey have at least the tiniest bit of chemistry and it turned into huge chemistry by the ending seasons. But the fact that they’re more focused on what other people want, just goes to show that they not only love each other but they love their friends more than anything, and would do anything for them. And even after the hard times Ross gave Rachel, they still loved him and trusted him, the same way as they did with their other friends
Yeah it always pissed me off how much Ross acted as thought he had a "claim" to Rachel. Even as early as season 1 with her relationship with that Italian guy and him getting huffy and sabatoging her relationships because they weren't with him. Honestly Rachel and Joey should've ended up together since had zero respect for Rachel and even Joey throughout the show and Ross should've been on his own and grown to feel content without a woman instead of "getting the girl" since his obsession with Rachel was unhealthy and unstable.

Okay okay...I know this is a romantic sad cheesy cute video, and I love it...But the part where Joey effortlessly lifts Rachel at 2:19 ...I'm weak, in a good way.
Joey and Rachel literally belong together. They have good chemistry, they are comfortable around each other, they love each other already. If Ross hadn't been so childish and selfish and ridiculous, Joey and Rachel could've been together. Rachel understood Joey, and have you guys noticed she was the only one who treated him like a normal person? Not like the stupid guy, or the womanizer, she was so good to him. Then Joey protected Rachel, and genuinely fell in love with her. It was so horrible to see Rachel end up with Ross. I felt like Matt and Jennifer actually had so much chemistry there, and their characters were such a perfect match, like soulmates, and then the writers of the show try to write them off and it felt so rushed. Like you could feel how great they were together, and then that scene where they say "let's just be friends" felt so false, like it was all wrong. I feel like after everyone saw that Rachel and Joey seemed to belong together, because they had Ross and Rachel as endgame in mind, they were like "oh, crap", and just created Joey and Rachel's "we can't have sex, it's so awkward!" stuff. I have so many reasons of why Ross is so hateful, besides being childish, jealous, and selfish... And Joey and Rachel could've worked if Ross wouldn't have made a huge idiotic show of freaking out, because Joey was too good of a friend to go after the love of his life, all because Ross wasn't willing to accept that Rachel might want to be with someone other than him (he didn't want her to be with another guy, but he didn't care about himself going out with a lot of girls). Also the fact that Joey and Rachel had such good character development, but especially when they were together, they grew as people with each other's support: Rachel became happier and more mature, and Joey also matured and literally stopped being a player, he loved Rachel so much that he changed his ways of fooling around with women. And then he told her how he felt, and because she didn't he respected her emotions no matter what, and understood, he waited for her with hope that she would return his feelings, and when she did it was so beautiful. I am always going to ship Joey and Rachel, they deserved each other and should've honestly been endgame.

Season 10 Episode 2 Ross accepted their relationship in that episode even if he knew it was going to be hard for him he accepted it. But then Rachel and Joey broke up in the next episode I believe and they broke up because they realized that their better off as Friends. They never loved eachother romantically they only loved eachother as Friends nothing more. Ross accepted their relationship and once he did they started dating and when they did date they never found strong feelings for eachother. Ross and Rachel were always meant to be and that's the truth, I'm really glad and happy that Rachel and Ross got back together at the end. Ross and Rachel always loved eachother and they always had strong feelings for eachother. While Joey and Rachel were only attracted to eachother and they were nothing more than Friends. That why they didn't end up together because they were nothing more than Friends.

Rachel laughed every time Ross tried to touch her butt when they first started dating. But her reaction to Joey touching her is why they broke up. Its just so STUPID. Ross was in a freaking relationship with Joeys ex at the time and theres "absolutely nothing weird" about THAT. But ross and Rachel being together SEVEN years ago *gasp* let me clutch my pearls especially since we are ignoring how TOXIC their relationship was.
Now thinking about, one big comparison between Ross and Joey was their pros and cons list. The only con Joey had was “she made me switch to light mayo…” then changed it into a positive, “it tastes the same and my pants fit better” while ross had “just a waitress” and all this other crap about her on his list. These two had way more in common, were friends first (which is what Joey strived for), and trusted each other. Their chemistry came from all of that. Why did she choose f’ing ross?
I always thought that Ross was never right for Rachel, emotionally and chemistry wise, and he did like very little growing as a character, so all he had to do was whine and cry and the girl would come back to him?? All of these friends grew in their own ways, and Joey did the most of it too, emotionally at least, and it's sweet how he was always quick to jump in and defend his friends, especially the girls, like he would with his sisters.

I completely agree, that’s one of the few flaws of this show, they deserved to be happy together and Ross couldn’t handle it which was so dumb, smh🙁

Plus the whole “we were in a break” thing was just dumb. If Ross loved her as much as they portrayed then he wouldn’t have slept with that girl. Joey grew so much throughout the seasons and became more independent without asking for help from anyone. I feel like Ross just became more and more irrational and he should’ve just said how he felt instead of act all weird. Joey deserved better at the end of series

Joey and Rachel literally belong together. They have good chemistry, they are comfortable around each other, they love each other already. If Ross hadn't been so childish and selfish and ridiculous, Joey and Rachel could've been together. Rachel understood Joey, and have you guys noticed she was the only one who treated him like a normal person? Not like the stupid guy, or the womanizer, she was so good to him. Then Joey protected Rachel, and genuinely fell in love with her. It was so horrible to see Rachel end up with Ross. I felt like Matt and Jennifer actually had so much chemistry there, and their characters were such a perfect match, like soulmates, and then the writers of the show try to write them off and it felt so rushed. Like you could feel how great they were together, and then that scene where they say "let's just be friends" felt so false, like it was all wrong. I feel like after everyone saw that Rachel and Joey seemed to belong together, because they had Ross and Rachel as endgame in mind, they were like "oh, crap", and just created Joey and Rachel's "we can't have sex, it's so awkward!" stuff. I have so many reasons of why Ross is so hateful, besides being childish, jealous, and selfish... And Joey and Rachel could've worked if Ross wouldn't have made a huge idiotic show of freaking out, because Joey was too good of a friend to go after the love of his life, all because Ross wasn't willing to accept that Rachel might want to be with someone other than him (he didn't want her to be with another guy, but he didn't care about himself going out with a lot of girls). Also the fact that Joey and Rachel had such good character development, but especially when they were together, they grew as people with each other's support: Rachel became happier and more mature, and Joey also matured and literally stopped being a player, he loved Rachel so much that he changed his ways of fooling around with women. And then he told her how he felt, and because she didn't he respected her emotions no matter what, and understood, he waited for her with hope that she would return his feelings, and when she did it was so beautiful. I am always going to ship Joey and Rachel, they deserved each other and should've honestly been endgame.

They didn't end up together because they realized that they were just friends at that's the truth. Rachel was only attracted to Joey, Rachel never had strong feelings for Joey like she did with Ross. Most Rachel and Joey shippers are saying that Ross got in the way with their relationship when he didn't. Season 10 Episode 2 Ross accepted their relationship in that episode even if he knew it was going to be hard for him he accepted it. But then Rachel and Joey broke up in the next episode I believe and they broke up because they realized that their better off as Friends. They never loved eachother romantically they only loved eachother as Friends nothing more. Ross accepted their relationship and once he did they started dating and when they did date they never found strong feelings for eachother. Ross and Rachel were always meant to be and that's the truth, I'm really glad and happy that Rachel and Ross got back together at the end. Ross and Rachel always loved eachother and they always had strong feelings for eachother. While Joey and Rachel were only attracted to eachother and they were nothing more than Friends. That why they didn't end up together because they were nothing more than Friends.

Now thinking about, one big comparison between Ross and Joey was their pros and cons list.
The only con Joey had was “she made me switch to light mayo…” then changed it into a positive, “it tastes the same and my pants fit better” while ross had “just a waitress” and all this other crap about her on his list.

I always thought that Ross was never right for Rachel, emotionally and chemistry wise, and he did like very little growing as a character, so all he had to do was whine and cry and the girl would come back to him?? All of these friends grew in their own ways, and Joey did the most of it too, emotionally at least, and it's sweet how he was always quick to jump in and defend his friends, especially the girls, like he would with his sisters.

@@AJ-zv6rc I think the reason is because they tried to blind sight everybody with Ross and Rachel with them being "lobsters" in the beginning, and while in the beginning they were cute, but they just continued to get more, and more toxic, and Ross and Rachel was absolutely ruined for me I didn't see them cute anymore, I found Rachel and Joey to be wayyy cuter, it was organic, very real, and their friendship to love was absoltely beautiful, and Joey loved her wayyy more than Ross did, she was the only woman Joey had ever been in love with, she made him so happy she changed his whole world when she moved in with him it was just so beautiful, I will never be over how Rachel and Joey was just ruined like that 😢
