I don't think there's ever gonna be a time I will be okay with how things ended with them. Everytime I think about their ending or how they were treated by the writers/by Ross/the other friends I get so mad... And my heart hurts so much because of these two. Sometimes I just pretend they never broke up ... or that they got together after Friends ended after all ... aaaah, I just can't handle them not being endgame.
I'm sorry for all the Roey videos and these massive rambling, but I just can't shut up about them! They really ruined (not really) my life! heartbroken emoji
Well anyways. I've put a lot of thought into this video and I tried to picture their relationship and how it developed. Plus this song: How powerful is this song??? I love it SO much and it gives me all the feels!
Explanation in case it doesn't get clear:
Joey & Rachel met 8 years ago and they got friends, really good friends. Joey supports her, is always there for Rachel and they just get really close. Joey even tells her he never felt the way about a girl the way Ross feels about Rachel. But then he falls in love with her and suddenly has these huuge feelings for her and everything gets weird, they avoid each other but also miss each other. It gets back to normal and now Rachel falls in love with Joey and they are in love, they want to be together. But remembering how Ross handled it the last time, they have difficulties. Plus he doesn't handle it well this time again.
Joey & Rachel don't really work out and they break up and both think that Rachel is better of with Ross. The end. And wow I suck at explaining. I hope the video is better in telling than I am...

OMG PREACH!!! I mean I use to ship Ross/Rachel hardcore when I was younger but as I got older I began to realize their relationship wasn't healthy (toxic is the word for it) and not to mention it was idealistic. I felt Ross had Rachel on a pedestal and loved the idea of her (I know I'm going to get a lot of heat for that but that's jmho). Realistically their relationship was never going to work as they had so many unresolved issues between them they hardly talk about (Ross' deep insecurities/jealousy, the constant breakups and arguing, Rachel's need for independence, etc). They outgrew each other, or should I say Rachel outgrew Ross as she had the best character growth on the show as well as Chandler and also Joey. Joey/Rachel may have been unpopular/underrated in comparison but realistically they made the most sense, had much in common and a relationship built on friendship, trust, honesty, communication, respect, moral support and love. We've seen Joey and Rachel's relationship progressed on-screen and Joey got to know Rachel as a friend first, then as a roommate and then he fell in love w/ her while she was pregnant. He knew her, understood her, accepted her and loved her flaws and all. How can anyone not see the beauty in their relationship is beyond me? Smh. I always loved Joey/Rachel even when the writers teased the idea of them in S8.
And yes, I also agree about Nate/Serena being way better than Dan/Serena as Nate knew her, understood her, accepted her and loved her flaws and all as well. He ALWAYS loved her. Dan held Serena on a pedestal and had this idealistic view of her. But I do love Dan as a character and felt he grew as a character without Serena (screw that ending of the show where he's revealed as GG because WTF? It was ridiculous and made no sense smh). And yes sadly most people do end up w/ the wrong person in their life (in even fiction which doesn't help matters and sends the wrong message about "idealistic love" compared to "pure, simple and unconditional love")
I never saw anything going on between Rachel and Joey. I'm not trying to be rude but Roey shippers need to realize that Rachel and Joey are only friends and nothing more. The actors themselves even hated the Rachel and Joey ship, and even though Ross's and Rachel's relationship was toxic that doesn't change the fact that they actually loved eachother. Ross and Rachel are meant to be together, Rachel and Joey are just Friends. Many Roey shippers blame Ross for their breakup when he had nothing to do with it. Ross accepted their relationship so Joey and Rachel dated and they didn't work cause they realized that they were just Friends and nothing more. They were attracted to eachother but Ross and Rachel actually loved eachother. Joey didn't deserve to end up alone, but he shouldn't have been with Rachel it would be the biggest mistake in the show. Ross and Rachel are meant to be together and that's the truth, Rachel ended up with the right person she ended up with Ross and not Joey and I'm glad she did. I did not like the storyline at all with Rachel and Joey it seemed forced. Ross has loved Rachel ever since he was in High School and then Rachel realized that and she decided to give him a chance. Joey and Rachel are nothing compared to Ross and Rachel. The only reason you have is that Ross and Rachel were a toxic relationship. You're right they were a toxic relationship but Joey and Rachel are nothing compared to Ross and Rachel. I'm sorry if I sound rude I'm not trying to be rude, I don't mean to be rude at all.

Ross and Rachel could never work if we're being realistic. They're just too toxic, like you described perfectly! Whereas Joey and Rachel truly know each other, respect each other, laugh and cry with each other. They have a real connection and they have the right foundation. They could have worked just perfectly but the writers just didn't want them to work. That's why they didn't. But they would've made the perfect match ugh! Gosh I get so sad thinking about it cause they just would have been perfect!! And she was Joeys true and only love, that makes me SO sad!! :(
@@xchuckandblairxx You're welcome! And ITA w/ everything you said as well. I am also really sad that it didn't work for Joey/Rachel as he was more worthy and deserving of Rachel's love than Ross. Joey was also deserving of happiness and true love as he was the most loyal character on the show. Yet he was the only one single...it's like Ted being single for so long and most of his relationships never working out because Robin was the love of his life. I'm in the minority w/ this as most people either ship Ross/Rachel and Ted/Robin or Joey/Rachel and Barney/Robin or Ross/Rachel and Barney/Robin (surprisingly the majority prefers this which is crazy and odd but I digress). I'm in the minority of shipping Joey/Rachel and Ted/Robin (I don't know anyone ships J/R and T/R as I could be the only odd ball lol) but I feel like both relationships were healthy, sweet, meaningful and endearing relationships.
Both Joey and Ted loved Rachel and Robin selflessly and unconditionally and were willingly step to aside and sacrifice their own happiness just to see Rachel and Robin happy w/ Ross and Barney respectively. The difference is J/R didn't end up together whereas T/R did surprisingly. Joey and Ted were incredibly loyal and although they're entirely different characters as Barney seems more like Joey while Ted seems more like Ross but the difference is regarding Ross/Ted is that Ted was mature, selfless and considerate (not perfect but relatable as a character) while Ross was immature, selfish and inconsiderate. Ted grew as a character whereas Ross didn't and Ted always put Robin's well-being and feelings ahead of his own whereas Ross didn't when it came to Rachel. Joey and Barney were both womanizers but fell in love for the first time w/ Rachel and Robin respectively. I love Joey as a character and it was great to see his character growth. Barney...I wasn't really into his character like that as there were times I found him annoying (I'm going to get tomatoes thrown at me lol) but he wasn't that bad. I thought it was incredibly heartfelt and moving to see him be a father for the first time in the series finale and I found that very convincing and believable for his character growth. I wasn't into Barney/Robin as a couple ironically considering I love Joey/Rachel. I guess I'm in the minority as I feel Joey and Ted were the total package and more worthy romantic options but that's jmho. But everyone has their own shipping preferences which is fine.

Same here.. the only way I made peace with it is when I thought, that in the future... Ross and Rachel, break up again... (she is frustrated that she left that job, and is here with an over controlling person and she decides she needs a break)...
She lives alone with her daughter and gets very good at her job and becomes stylists for Red carpet scenario. There she and Joey (who has become a successful actor) meet up, and rekindle thier friendship... and she remains the only woman that he has loved in his life.

I just watched the entire show for the first time last week! I wanted her to end up with Joey so bad he genuinely loved her. I saw another comment on here that was so true comparing him and Ross how Ross loved the idea of Rachel, where Joey actually fell in love with her getting to know her, Ross loved many girls fell out of love with her married another woman, and still dated many women after that he wasn't showing Rachel at all that he loved her the way he was super jealous then went out and slept with another woman, and then blamed her for the whole thing when he started all of it with the jealousy, and with breaking her heart. There relationship was so toxic I absolutely hated the drunken marrieage divorce and having a kid together yet they didn't want to be together stuff it ruined Ross and Rachel for me, but Joey genuinely fell in love with her and it was beautiful I'm so sad they didn't last 😢

My god, I just discovering your channel, because I rediscovered Friends after their anniversary, and Rachel and Joey's relationship again. And I can't tell you, how much I agree with every word about them in the video description!! It's just hard to believe that after all the hard times with Ross, Rachael was thrown back on that rake. This wasn't supposed to happen! Joe would never have behaved like Ross to Rachel, and they wouldn't have quarrelled like that. Ross is so selfish and never thinked about her! ohmygod...I feel the same way about them too...I'm not really a shipper kind of person...I mean,that's too girly...but when I do,that one will always remain in my heart forever..that's ME,that's a part of my identity..the last time I remember I was obsessed with a couple like this before was 10yrs ago.and I still love them up until now(although it ended tragically)...when I watch a movie/show,I usually just go with the flow of who ended up with whom...but this two are different,theirs was tragic too...J/R couples are always doomed,isnt it??(Jack/Rose and Romeo/Juliet)....thank God I found you guys...I'm always searching for the JR community..but it looks like they're in hibernation...they rarely often come out...

I don't agree at least not fully :D I think Rachel did have deeper feelings than just sexual ones. Otherwise she could have gone through with the sex I think? You know? Also she was so jealous and she didn't tell him that she had feelings at first cause it meant so much... they had this deep deep friendship and she was so afraid of ruining that but she also wanted to have more, she saw how perfect they'd be together (we'd be great together and stuff). And how they share the same humor... I think it was just so forced and wrong for them to fall out of love and get back to being friends or well...in the show it felt like they weren't even friends anymore, they had zero scenes after that. And it felt so forced that she chose Ross in the end, that was just ... ugh. I'm still so mad about it hahah :D I just don't think it was fitting... so well eh yes Ross&Rachel were wrong and she should have chosen Joey... and he deserved better than what he got, but I do think that Rachel&Joey would have been perfect if they got each other :D

Like Ross that "loved" her since ninth grade. But that was a little random and it was really short, they didn't give the opportunity to the fans to appreciate it (although that's just my opinion as a Roey fan) while Ross and Rachel had almost 10 seasons and they also made that toxic with the whole "We were on a break" thing and the having a baby on a drunk night.

Well, I mean, the video explores the deeper feelings that arise between Joey and Rachel in later seasons, so in that sense the music isn't actually out of place: feelings of longing, heartbreak... I personally really liked it. :)

He wasn't mad and he hasn't done anything to stop their relationship, he was heartbroken and handle it with maturity. This was the best part of Joe and Rachel relationship, it wasn't made to be but it has shown Ross growth.
