⭐️ I’m Australian and we did our first Disney cruise from Melbourne to Sydney. We had to pay for the cruise and all purchases in $USD. As a reference, coffee from Cove Cafe cost around $AUD10. For the cost of a 3 night Disney cruise, we could have done a 7 day Pacific Islands cruise. That being said we can’t wait to do another Disney cruise. We did tip extra as the cast members deserved it. We even gave them gift bags of Australian snacks and chocolate 😀 The service was top notch. But from a country where tipping is not an expected thing, many people did struggle with this concept. I hope this hasn’t given all Australians a bad reputation.

100% agree with you about the service on DCL. They are amazing! We got to know some great people on our cruise. We hope to see one of the entertainers when we go to Tokyo Disney. We even got his autograph and our server's autographs.
⭐️ I have thought the same thing about the 15k for the Alaskan wonder. If book far enough out and in September I’ve seen closer to 12k, but that’s quite in the edge. And with a family of 5, the balcony rooms are the only option. That just seems a bit too much once you factor in getting there, hotel, excursions, tipping, etc. not sure can quite justify that cost. Really excited to see your treasure blogs as the theming looks amazing. Setting a timer for 14 months 😂

⭐️ Love your videos! Once you’ve felt the Disney 🎆 difference you can’t forget it. There’s no need to justify to those who just can’t feel the magic. Is there a cost for that difference, well yes! It’s worth every penny for those who know. Enjoy every bit you can with your girls as they will grow up faster than you can adjust but you will get used to it. Our first cruise was DCL without kids as we are empty nesters. No regrets. 2nd cruise…DCL 🤣 Alaska YOLO
⭐️ I’ve watched all your videos. Tried to do the same with Legglife but it was too hard 😂 I love your positive content that my tween and teen kids are happy to watch. It was great to get a good idea of what to expect on the Disney Wonder and your first cruise on the Wonder is what I watched first. There was huge arguments on the Australian Disney Cruise FB groups. There was no way that I would have taken away the prepaid gratuities. We ended up giving more. The problem is, most cruise lines here build in the gratuities into the prices as they know our culture is different as we have decent minimum wages but Disney didn’t seem to do much research into Australians and Kiwis. They didn’t even think that we would want Mickey Bars and then ran out on the first cruises.
I've been watching for a couple years now and I think your channel is my favorite. Good mix of things, including family life, and great information when planning Disney Cruises. I also say "I love you, but don't really like you right now" at times. It is things like that create a common connection - at least from my end.

Gifted to us by our 3 kids for our 50th anniversary. We did have to wait an extra year because of Covid. Since then we’ve sailed on the Fantasy and have the Dream booked for 2025.
⭐ We started watching your videos when we cruised out of New Orleans in February. We love your channel! Carrie - I also teach at a CC and love it. As for Alaska…we cruised on Disney in a family oceanview room on deck 2 and LOVED it! Our kids are teenagers too. We spent so much time on the deck looking at the views that we didn’t miss having a verandah. They give you blankets and fresh hot chocolate and it was not crowded at all. The pictures we have with the characters and incredible scenery in background are my absolute favorites of all our Disney cruises! Looking forward to future videos.

Nice video! We've done a lot of Disney cruises (including Alaska), but lately we've done a couple of Princess cruises out of San Francisco. We live in Manteca so it makes it so much easier without the entire flight/airport situation. We have a coastal coming up in November and the big one is next May for an 11 day Alaska to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We just finished a north coast cruise and found that the service was very comparable to Disney. Older demographic but it was a very nice cruise! Leaving out of SF is huge! Didn't mean to be so long winded. Hope you have many enjoyable adventures ahead!

I think the problem with Australia was it was so busy and people got stuck in their heads about the tipping culture being different here. I always have the best service when I travel to the US. ⭐️ I’m Australian as well and our first Disney cruise was last year when the Wonder was down under and we also budget for our holidays and yes it was an expensive cruise compared to other cruise lines but we included the pre paid gratuity plus additional cash for extra tips as part of our budget. We did a 2 week cruise with Princess from Australia to New Zealand pre Covid with our daughter when she was 4 and we did get some stares and glares from some older passengers but they struck us as the type that would complain about everything. Our daughter did like the kids club the times she went.
That’s gotta be a challenge to navigate as Australians, when an out of market product like Disney cruises come there. Lots of differences. Sounds like you navigated it well. Thx for letting us know! I think for Princess. The goal there will likely be to sail with friends so our girls will have fun with them.
My first vlog I watched of you guys was the Fantasy cruise, because I was going on the Fantasy for my first Disney cruise! That was a year ago now. I have been on the Wish and will be doing a B2B on the Magic in 2 months! So, I was born in Fresno! When I was ten we moved to Santa Clarita, Ca because my dad got a new job. Literally just got off a Princess Alaska cruise with our 2 teens (15 and 17). The teen room had really awkward hours (opened and closed all throughout the day) AND they closed at 10pm. There were hardly any kids. Luckily another family we knew happened to be on the same cruise, otherwise it would have been even lamer for our kids. And the ship and the food and service and main entertainment was overall Bad. Literally no where even in the same sphere as Disney. Alaska itself was AWESOME. I never expected to like it as much as I did, but it was amazing. 🌟
We understand that everyone’s experiences different, But it’s helpful to still hear what those experiences are. Glad you were able to enjoy connecting with family or on board. We would never expect the experience to be the same as Disney, but we would still want it to be an enjoyable experience. Thanks for letting us know!

⭐ I first found your channel looking for DCL Magic info, and since have gone down the rabbit hole of your other trips. Your girls are about 1 year older than my two so it is nice to see similarities! My oldest daughter wants to be a writer or a professor and loves reading and writing, so I am intrigued to hear that Carrie is a professor! I would love for my daughter to do that. I am a high school teacher and have tried to dissuade her from teaching this age, ha! I would love to hear more about how you found your job! We are doing the Treasure in April of next year, so close to yall! We can't wait! So far my favorite has been a 7 night on the Fantasy so I expect this one to be similar and fantastic, as well. Lately we have chosen shorter cruises with small WDW or DL trips attached. So we have the Wish planned for the following spring break with some WDW time. So fun!

💫 What a fantastic "getting to know more about u" video. I found your channel when looking for Disney Wonder cruise content as we are going on our first disney cruise this October when it heads back to Australia. From videos I've watched so far regarding the Australian voyages last year, its very evident to me that not enough education/information is available about "tipping culture ". So Australians (who def do not tip) have no guidelines or know whats expected in regards to tipping. My understanding is that they realised this quickly during the Australian season last year, and now the additional tipping for things like Palo and alcoholic drinks have already been included in the price as so many people were not tipping for these 2 extra expenses initially. But there definitely needs to be way more education regarding tipping cultures for Australians in order to make sure servers are paid adequately for their exceptional services. Also, disney need to realise that the exchange rate is huge for us. My 3 night cruise is $3500 Usd which is actually $5500 Aud. I think many Australians will think we are definitely paying enough already, and hence another reason they are liking not wanting to pay anything extra for tipping. I wish tipping culture wasnt such a taboo topic. Then more people will understand the importance of it when it comes to dealing with american based employees.

We just finished a north coast cruise and found that the service was very comparable to Disney. Older demographic but it was a very nice cruise! Leaving out of SF is huge! Didn't mean to be so long winded. Hope you have many enjoyable adventures ahead!

Hi from Australia! Thanks for your videos. ⭐️I did a Disney cruise from Melbourne to Hobart last year and I’m hooked! The service was great. I think the problem with Australia was it was so busy and people got stuck in their heads about the tipping culture being different here. I always have the best service when I travel to the US. Hopefully people keep tipping!

⭐️ I’m Australian as well and our first Disney cruise was last year when the Wonder was down under and we also budget for our holidays and yes it was an expensive cruise compared to other cruise lines but we included the pre paid gratuity plus additional cash for extra tips as part of our budget.
We did a 2 week cruise with Princess from Australia to New Zealand pre Covid with our daughter when she was 4 and we did get some stares and glares from some older passengers but they struck us as the type that would complain about everything. Our daughter did like the kids club the times she went.
That’s gotta be a challenge to navigate as Australians, when an out of market product like Disney cruises come there. Lots of differences. Sounds like you navigated it well. Thx for letting us know! I think for Princess. The goal there will likely be to sail with friends so our girls will have fun with them.
My first vlog I watched of you guys was the Fantasy cruise, because I was going on the Fantasy for my first Disney cruise! That was a year ago now. I have been on the Wish and will be doing a B2B on the Magic in 2 months! So, I was born in Fresno! When I was ten we moved to Santa Clarita, Ca because my dad got a new job. Literally just got off a Princess Alaska cruise with our 2 teens (15 and 17). The teen room had really awkward hours (opened and closed all throughout the day) AND they closed at 10pm. There were hardly any kids. Luckily another family we knew happened to be on the same cruise, otherwise it would have been even lamer for our kids. And the ship and the food and service and main entertainment was overall Bad. Literally no where even in the same sphere as Disney. Alaska itself was AWESOME. I never expected to like it as much as I did, but it was amazing. 🌟
We understand that everyone’s experiences different, But it’s helpful to still hear what those experiences are. Glad you were able to enjoy connecting with family or on board. We would never expect the experience to be the same as Disney, but we would still want it to be an enjoyable experience. Thanks for letting us know!

I am also a planner and have ideas for the next 6 years. I start researching way in advance too. An Alaskan cruise is on my list (hopefully 2026) and we plan to take our teenagers. Most likely it will be on Princess, but we will see.

⭐ I first found your channel looking for DCL Magic info, and since have gone down the rabbit hole of your other trips. Your girls are about 1 year older than my two so it is nice to see similarities! My oldest daughter wants to be a writer or a professor and loves reading and writing, so I am intrigued to hear that Carrie is a professor! I would love for my daughter to do that. I am a high school teacher and have tried to dissuade her from teaching this age, ha! I would love to hear more about how you found your job!
We are doing the Treasure in April of next year, so close to yall! We can't wait! So far my favorite has been a 7 night on the Fantasy so I expect this one to be similar and fantastic, as well. Lately we have chosen shorter cruises with small WDW or DL trips attached. So we have the Wish planned for the following spring break with some WDW time. So fun!

We are going on a Disney Alaska cruise and booked ours right when the schedules released with a placeholder. We are going in September but got it for 6k with a balcony… I feel like we got a deal! ❤ but there are so many cruise lines out there that go to Alaska! 🌟

💫 What a fantastic "getting to know more about u" video. I found your channel when looking for Disney Wonder cruise content as we are going on our first disney cruise this October when it heads back to Australia. From videos I've watched so far regarding the Australian voyages last year, its very evident to me that not enough education/information is available about "tipping culture ". So Australians (who def do not tip) have no guidelines or know whats expected in regards to tipping. My understanding is that they realised this quickly during the Australian season last year, and now the additional tipping for things like Palo and alcoholic drinks have already been included in the price as so many people were not tipping for these 2 extra expenses initially. But there definitely needs to be way more education regarding tipping cultures for Australians in order to make sure servers are paid adequately for their exceptional services. Also, disney need to realise that the exchange rate is huge for us. My 3 night cruise is $3500 Usd which is actually $5500 Aud. I think many Australians will think we are definitely paying enough already, and hence another reason they are liking not wanting to pay anything extra for tipping. I wish tipping culture wasnt such a taboo topic. Then more people will understand the importance of it when it comes to dealing with american based employees.

Totally hear you on the elevated exchange rate and frustrations that Australians experienced with feeling like they’re already paying a lot and then tipping on top of that.
