I'm so excited for you! My husband and I love RC. We're going on Symphony in the fall. I can't wait to see your videos. Enjoy NYC & the cruise. Stay safe 🙂.
Aloha Family! I love that you booked NYC and the cruise sailing from NYC together! I’d recommend Junior’s Cheesecake and Joe’s Pizza: the hop on hop off bus is a great way to get around. We saw Six on our NCL Alaska cruise. It was really good. We want to sail with RCL some day too. So happy that you get to celebrate your anniversary in NY! 🥳💍
New York City is on my bucket list so I can't wait to see your visit! I am excited for you to experience a Royal Caribbean cruise and can't wait to hear your thoughts! Coco Cay is awesome!
Yayy I'm super happy for you guys! And I've always been afraid to go on another cruise line other than Disney, so I'm sooo excited to see it through your eyes!
Cruised on Symphony of the Seas in June of 2022 and my family had an amazing time!! We loved central park, the all the shows, food, ect! Couple if tips: 1. if you want to ice skate when they have an hour of open skate remember to bring pants (they won't let you skate in anything but pants), the water show is amazing but book the water show earlier in the cruise as it will get cancelled if the wind or conditions are not safe so best to try to get that one done early, also remember if you get a drink package on the ship it carries to Perfect Day at Coco Cay. When I went to Coco Cay I did the jet ski tour and it was really fun...I would recommend if the price is reasonable. Also one thing to remember with Royal is if you book an excursion, dining package, ect it if goes on sale later you can have them cancel and rebook at the new price but booking early get's you locked in. Back when we went it seemed like the best sales were around holidays (I think black friday was the best sale I saw). Hope this helps.
We definitely took advantage of Black Friday deals last November for add ons with this cruise! We’re looking forward to exploring the ship and are excited to hang out in Central Park 😀 We’ll, both of them (NYC & SotS)
We live just outside NYC. Planning for the city is def hard. Don’t be surprised if your days fly right passed you. Do what you can and enjoy the CRAZINESS!! ❤❤
I read the title of this video in Buzz Lighthear’s voice. New York City…and beyond! 😂 So excited for you guys! We loved our experience on Royal. Hope you all have a fabulous time!!
Hi Auburn, I didn't know you watched this channel to I met you at the legg life meet and greet at the Starbucks at disney Springs in 2019 with my mom, and she watches your channel.
So exciting! I love that your family prizes experiences more than material things. You get to share time together you’ll all remember forever. Looking forward to watching your first Royal Caribbean cruise experience! The last time I cruised on Royal Caribbean I was a kid and I loved that my parents brought me on vacations and gave me new experiences.
Yay, so exciting! It’s Cay as it rhymes with Day. When we were planning our US trip before Covid, we were considering a cruise out of New York but it didn’t happen. When we went on the Ovation, Coastal Kitchen was right next to the Windjammer. The Windjammer was the biggest and best buffet of the different cruise lines we’ve been on (so far) Don’t spend all your time comparing the cruise lines, just accept that they are different experiences and enjoy it all. Have an amazing time!
Don’t feel the need to vlog while you’re here in NYC….just enjoy it! Happy Anniversary! Be safe out here! Also, the food in the 5 boroughs is great(don’t have to just stick to Manhattan).
After doing 6 Disney cruises we did our first Royal. This is how our friend described the difference: DCL is Disney on the ocean, other cruise lines are actual cruising. We were on Anthem 2023 out of Bayonne. We found the entertainment to be beyond outstanding, the food in the MDR to be meh. Perfect Day was fantastic: get the mozzarella sticks and the brownie from the Snack Shack: you’re welcome 😊
Six is a fantastic show saw the majority of the current Broadway cast on the tour when it came to LA last year. Have a fantastic trip. Excited to see your take on Royal Caribbean. We've also only have done Disney.
As a lifelong Philly/south Jersey native, I can assure you that having a real bagel in New York or New Jersey will ruin all other “bagels” for you, indefinitely. But you must! So glad that’s a food priority during your trip! Also, a slice of New York pizza deserves its own zip code; enjoy! Definitely carve out time for Central Park strolling (watch Enchanted to get hyped for it!).
We came across your videos for an upcoming Disney cruise we are planning next year with my son! Royal Caribbean is on our to do list as well. Loved Wicked! I saw it back in 2008! Looking forward to new vids. Have a wonderful trip!!!
Sounds like a fun trip! I've been with my teenagers on a HS dance company trip & HS tennis trip for my other daughter when we went to the US Open in NYC. For teens, I recommend Ellen's Starlight Diner (not high quality food but entertainment is great), Black Tap, Summit One for the observation deck (interactive), Los Tacos No 1, Chelsea Market & High line, 911 museum, walking Brooklyn bridge, food tours in Greewich, & riding bikes through Central park. They also loved 5th Avenue & shopping at midtown. We also saw some shows, including Wicked, Hamilton, MJ, & Music Man. Have a great trip!
We were on Symphony September 2024, shortly after you went. We won a bid on a crown loft suite. This was the best cruise ever! We watched your you tube videos and they were super helpful! Thank you
I second the idea of bringing the girls to starlight diner. Nizza is a great, affordable and cool Italian restaurant. The highline is free and such a nice way to see the west side of the city. Very excited to see your review of Royal as we haven’t made the jump from Disney yet. Have a wonderful trip!!
Have the best time in NYC and on your first Royal Caribbean cruise. We went on our first Royal Caribbean cruise last August and it was our wedding cruise! We got married at Perfect Day at Coco Cay on Chill Island. We had only cruised with Norwegian before, we were pleased with our Royal experience. Definitely have a CoCo loco and try the chicken sandwich when you’re at Perfect Day. As for NYC, you’ll want to do everything but there’s so much to do and see. Have a plan but be flexible. 🤩 🗽🛳️. Can’t wait to watch the vlogs 🫶🏽
You described how we approach travel so well: “have a plan, but be flexible!” Love it! Thank you 😀 Appreciate the tips and getting married on the beach sounds like it was an amazing day!!
Leaving from NYC is awesome. Can’t wait to see your thoughts. I cruised NCL in a suite it was fantastic. Cruising Virgin Voyages in 2025 from NYC. Lots of my friends love Royal. Here Be Barr is my favorite even living a hour away. I find new stuff each year. I get to experience Disney’s Island this summer. And hope to try Royal one day. For NYC sounds good. I suggest checking out union square or Brooklyn
I’m so glad you are trying Royal. I’ve never done a Disney Cruise, but I have no desire to even after all the cruise vlogs I’ve watched with all my fave vloggers. Having grown kids, Disney doesn’t hold the same appeal for me. We LOVE Royal and can’t imagine cruising with anyone else. Enjoy! You’re going to love it so much more. Disney is so overpriced and you get so much more out it’s Royal!
While I'm sure you already know this, June 19th is a federal holiday, and some places will be operating on a holiday schedule. Have the best time on your trip!!! Diane
Awesome!! So excited for all of you! If you can go Elis Island (spelling?) So amazing and one of the beat experiences we had. Enjoy RC service and just amazing food. May God continue to bless you and your family!
Hooked and Wonderland were two of our favorite restaurants. Park Cafe has great breakfast options. El Loco Freah and Sorento's pizza are quick service options that are really good too! Either way, ENJOY!
I think you will love RC. Might sound like a broken record but it’s right up your family current “ERA” lol. It won’t mean you will stop DCL but it will feel good to have another amazing option to vacation.
so excited for you guys! in terms of observation decks in NYC, i recommend diff ones depending on the time of day: - if you're going during the daytime, top of the rock (to see that gorgeous view of central park, otherwise it's a black hole at night) - if you're going during nighttime, empire state building - if you're going during sunset, summit @ 1 vanderbilt, so beautiful with all of the mirrors inside haven't been to the edge at hudson yards or 1 world observatory so can't speak to those. also make sure to stop by the harry potter store!! :) it's way more than just a store, it's like a little museum with displays and stuff from the movies.
I’m from NJ and now live in Orlando. When you are in NYC, Central Park Zoo may be worth checking out. It could take about an hour or so. Give yourself extra time to get to the port because of possible traffic. You’d probably end up on the NJ Turnpike. Please know there are far nicer places in NJ than what you see from the Turnpike. Depending on what day you head to the port, avoid the Garden State Parkway on the weekends (traffic going South to the shore on a Saturday and traffic returning North on a Sunday.) In Port Canaveral, I’m not sure what your excursion options are. If it’s an option, I would suggest kayaking where you could see manatees. We just did one by Haulover Canal and saw a ton of manatees. But that would be about 45 minutes from the port.
Very exciting!! Can't wait to watch. Thank you for sharing pieces of your life with us. My family are DCL people too and I am so tempted to try Royal Caribbean just for the cost difference. I will use your reviews and videos to see if it's worth it. Your friend, Katrina M 🖤
Hello Millerland Family, so looking forward to the vlogs on your first Royal ship. After 5 Disney Cruises, we tried Royal Anthem of the Seas out of New Jersey for the first time in March, and we loved it. We stayed in a Junior Suite and we had purchased The Key, my husband has MS and is a full time wheelchair user, so we wanted to take advantage of the priority embarkation/debarkation and being able to drop off our carry on bags, we had some of his medical equipment that we needed to carry on. We never took advantage of Costal Kitchen or any specialty dining, we enjoyed the food in the main dining room. We had amazing servers at dinner and our stateroom attendant was wonderful. We will be sailing again on Royal, not till May 2026 on Symphony out of New Jersey. You are right, your girls are going to have so much fun, so much more to do on Symphony of the Seas. Have an AMAZING time!! It will be hard not to compare, we did, but Royal did great! 🚢
Hi!! Thanks for your thoughts on RC! So glad you had a good experience with your husbands mobility and care needs! Curious about your experience at Port Liberty in New Jersey. What was the port terminal like and was there a suite lounge or space for suite guests in the terminal? We are excited to experience everything and share some of that with you and others!
@@AdventuresinMillerland Port of New Jersey was super easier, fast and efficient. Parking garage, right beside the terminal. We had watched a few TH-cam videos about it, just wanted to be prepared, knowing we had my husband in his wheelchair to get out of the van. We had a separate line for Suite Guests and The Key to check in. There was no private lounge, but there was an area just for Suite and The Key to sit and wait. Right near the front by the doors to go through ( no fancy Mickey Ears…lol )
So fun! We’re doing the other cruise out of Bayonne very soon too! Liberty of the Seas 5 night to Bermuda with family. We’re celebrating my dad’s 70th birthday!
By the way, I’m watching this video on a train ride home from a day in Manhattan! I took my older son into the city to see Wicked today for his 8th grade promotion gift. It’s always a great time! SO MUCH GOOD FOOD to be had in the city!
We are Disney Cruise fans too and are trying our first Royal Caribbean cruise July 5th. This time heading to the Norwegian Fjords. Hope your cruise is great too! We were in New York City with teens the same age as your guys last summer and they both really loved starting at the Empire State Building - got a view of everything we wanted to see on the ground they also liked the hop on hop off buses as saved lots of walking and you see all sights. Also the best deal as mentioned here before is seeing the Statue of Liberty from the Free Staten Island ferry. Just hop on, go across, take your pics and then come back on the next ferry. Our whole group of extended family loved it! Also I grew up just outside of Toronto. For that trip if you get a chance to catch a Blue Jay Game at Skydome (now Rogers Centre) is a really fun place especially if the roof is open. Tickets can be found cheap on Ticketmaster. Also taking a short ferry to Toronto Island is a treat. Just down the street from the CN Tour which is worth the trip up. Yonge street is where you will find all the tourist action. Have a great time! de Soto family
Have an incredible time on RC on your Norway cruise! That sounds amazing!! Thanks for all the tips 😀 We’ll be in Toronto in July, so no baseball game for us, but we will be going to the Rogers Center to see Taylor Swift, so there’s that!
Sounds like an amazing trip! I look forward to the videos as I probably won’t ever make it to New York. Also curious about Royal Caribbean cruises. Have a fabulous time and we will be here waiting patiently (well at least trying to be patient) for all the updates!!
So happy to see all of the upcoming videos; for your travel adventures. Most curious about RC & Symphony of the Seas… I’ve not thought to go because I’m allergic to cigarette smoke; so the thought of going into an enclosed casino doesn’t sound that exciting. It would be nice if there was a non smoking area; though not sure how the smoke would be filtered out… if it’s not a completely smoke free area! Hope you all have an amazing trip 🙏🏻🥰❤️🗽🚢
We’re not planning on being in the casino much at all. I’m sure we’ll pop in to look at it. The great thing is it’s a huge ship and there is so much more to do!
My family will be very interested in hearing your family’s thoughts about cruising on such a huge ship. We are cruising Royal Caribbean next summer to Alaska. Our ship holds 4000 but my wife and I are very apprehensive about sailing on a ship with 6500-7000. Hope you all have a wonderful time!
Everything we’ve heard is that because there’s so much to do on the ship, you don’t always feel like it’s overcrowded. We can’t wait to have our own experience and share it!
You are going to have a fantasic trip! Keep in mind, the food on Royal isn't quite on par with Disney, but the service and entertainment are very good. Coco Cay blows Castaway Cay out of the water. There is sooo much more to do. I just got back from a NYC trip to sing at Carnegie Hall and saw the musical Suffs. I know you already have 2 shows booked, but I feel like Suffs would be right up Lyndsey's alley. It's about the women who were fighting for women's voting rights. It is very inspiring and has a similar style as Hamilton.
I’m so excited for you guys! We are branching out from DCL to Royal Caribbean this summer too and are really looking forward to your trip vlogs. We are doing the reverse of you. We are from NY and heading to CA for a RC sailing and then sightseeing.
We really loved Katz Deli in New York. We bought the Sightseeing Pass. We felt it was well with the money. Something for you to consider. I know you said you were going to the Statue of Liberty, make sure to leave a good amount of time for Ellis Island, it was a highlight on our trip. 9/11 museum was very impactful.
Royal is great. We have done a cruises on them and several on Disney. Sailing out of Bayonne you should still get some good NYC views as you sail out of Jersey. When you’re in NYC go on the Staten Island ferry. It’s free and you will get the best views of the Statue of Liberty. Give yourself plenty of time getting in and out of Jersey cause if you’re going through the tunnel and 78 it can be a mess depending on the time of the day.
Here's a tip when you go on the royal cruise if you order chicken cut it in half to make sure it's cooked I went on a royal cruise in January with my family and long story short I was served raw chicken. I'm sure if you asked my mom on Facebook she would tell you all about it.
I'm curious about the dining options on RC, specifically what's included and what's extra. Plus I want to know what you think about the size of the ship and that many people!
Thanks! We’ll likely be sharing that info as we experience the ship 😊 Keep in mind RC has many different types of ships compared to DCL, so it varies from ship class to ship class.
I want to know everything about Royal! My daughter and I want to go on an Alaska cruise, and Disney is so expensive for us. So please help me to open my mind to consider another cruise line other than Disney
You have to visit the Harry Potter Store! It’s amazing and have a Butter Beer😊
I'm so excited for you! My husband and I love RC. We're going on Symphony in the fall. I can't wait to see your videos. Enjoy NYC & the cruise. Stay safe 🙂.
Thank you so much! Hope you have an amazing time this fall on SofS😀
We look forward to the series. We transitioned a couple of years ago from DCL to Royal with our son getting older and love it.
Hey Brian! Hope you are well. Good to hear you all enjoy RC! We’re so excited 😀
Can’t wait to see the cruise vlogs!
Love Wicked and Six both are amazinggg shows! 😊
New York City is on my bucket list so I can't wait to see your visit! I am excited for you to experience a Royal Caribbean cruise and can't wait to hear your thoughts! Coco Cay is awesome!
Thanks Tammy! We will make sure to cut our chicken in half to check it before eating it 😂
@@AdventuresinMillerland Definitely recommend it! 🤣
Have an AMAZING trip! And Happy Anniversary (ahead of time) 🎉💕🥂🍾
Thank you so much!!

We know it will be different but we kinda love different experiences, so we’re excited to share that!
Experiences are the best gifts!
They are!
When we originally looked at cruises out of NYC, we were hoping to go Bermuda, but really wanted to sail on an Oasis class ship. Have fun!!
The Symphony is on my list too! I really want to go to Coco Cay!
😂 Thank you! We’re so glad for the opportunity to help you exercise your patience!
The buffet is really good I’m sure you’ll have to try it. So much cheaper to cruise Royal than Disney
The suite evened it out 😂
NYC Italian Food - Tony DiNapolis! Try to avoid ANY chains (I saw you had Del Friscos on your list).
Not sure why that was there, probably heard some recommend it? We almost never eat at chains when traveling. Thx!
@@AdventuresinMillerland Thanks so much… I’m sure there’s tons of other things to do. I’d just be curious 😉🙏🏻❤️
If you visit A deli in NYC, go hungry! The sandwiches are big.
They look insane! Mountains of pastrami!!!
@@AdventuresinMillerland I had A sandwich at A deli but not that kind. I couldn’t eat more than half of it.
in NYC: Katz's Delicatessen. You won't be sorry!
We hope to try it!!
That’s amazing you were able to sing there. We’d love to see that musical but can’t fit anything else into our schedule.
I’m so excited for you guys! We are branching out from DCL to Royal Caribbean this summer too and are really looking forward to your trip vlogs. We are doing the reverse of you. We are from NY and heading to CA for a RC sailing and then sightseeing.
That’s hilarious!! Sounds like you’ll be on Navigator? We’ve heard it’s fun and has a great waterslide! Have fun 😀
You need to go to the Stardust cafe in New York! There’s an ice skating show on Royal Caribbean!
We’re looking forward to the ice skating show!
We are seeing wicked for my husband birthday this month
Fun! Have a great time 😀
We really loved Katz Deli in New York. We bought the Sightseeing Pass. We felt it was well with the money. Something for you to consider. I know you said you were going to the Statue of Liberty, make sure to leave a good amount of time for Ellis Island, it was a highlight on our trip. 9/11 museum was very impactful.
Thank you!
I cannot wait to watch the videos! Where did you get that amazing Disneyland sign in the back top of your display shelves? It is so cool!
Found it on Etsy 😊
Royal is great. We have done a cruises on them and several on Disney. Sailing out of Bayonne you should still get some good NYC views as you sail out of Jersey. When you’re in NYC go on the Staten Island ferry. It’s free and you will get the best views of the Statue of Liberty. Give yourself plenty of time getting in and out of Jersey cause if you’re going through the tunnel and 78 it can be a mess depending on the time of the day.
Thanks! Definitely one of the more challenging aspects will be figuring out the timing thing. We’ll definitely have some cushion there just in case 😀
In New York visit the Harry Potter store also there is a Disney store.
Sounds fun!
And here I am still waiting for my first cruise date 😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂 It will come soon… sort of
Here's a tip when you go on the royal cruise if you order chicken cut it in half to make sure it's cooked I went on a royal cruise in January with my family and long story short I was served raw chicken. I'm sure if you asked my mom on Facebook she would tell you all about it.
😳 Yikes!
@AdventuresinMillerland Luckily, I didn't get sick, but at least we got special treatment for the entire cruise
Whatever our experience is, it will be honest, so we hope it’s helpful 😀
@@AdventuresinMillerland it'll definitely be. Thank you 😊
Will you be vlogging your Toronto trip?
That’s the plan for now.
911, hot dog friendly m a street cart .
For New York… don’t eat in times square! It’s so expensive and the food isn’t authentic.
Not planning on doing too much in Times Square, but we can’t wait to see it along with everything else!
You’re going to have so much fun. It’s beautiful to see for the first time ❤
