Mr Mark Adams....The Only One & Only with that Unique GROWLING BASS SOUND NEVER DUPLICATED!!! I/We Miss Him ❤😢🙏...RIP IN HEAVEN. And for us that know & listened to the music Mark & made will bring joy as he looking down "Watching You"
It's something about that Ohio Detroit funk that's just really different....god bless Brother mark soul...cause i know he's still laying down funk wherever his rest.
I refer to him as the slide master. The man was a genuis with his bass playing. The way he would hit them slide notes to bring in his next tone was amazing. Mark Adams was one of a kind.
Mark had a style and groove like no other! His playing and sound gave you real insight to what funk is as it relates to music! He set a trend that we can only hope future bass players will not only adapt but carry on for years on!!! Rest in power Mr. Mark “monster bass” Adams!! 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
One of tthe best if not the best Funk bands...i feel ya Cameo, Barkays, Bootsy Rubber band, Parliament, Con funk shun, Midnight and Atlantic Starr....Just to name a few
You know your stuff. Ohio was the land of funk. So many fab funk bands come from their. If you don’t already know there’s a fab funk book by Scott Goldfine titled everything on the one .. He also host a super show on TH-cam called truth in rhythm where he interviews funk acts from the past.
Man I love that show......It's the real deal. The interview with Tom lockett, Tim dozier, floyd miller was off the chart, Unsung need to get on board with a Slave feature
RIP MARK ADAMS...i watch this video a lots. it saddens me to know your gone but you inspired the lives of a lot of people. GOD JEHOVAH BLESSED YOU WITH AN AMAZING GIFT MY BROTHER. REST ON
But pleaese don't forget this brother was only SIXTEEN!!! when slave recorded SLIDE. Only one of the baddest funk songs of all time. I myself was only 16 when that jam came out and Mark Adams was our hero...oh yeah and i also grew up in the funk capitol O-H-I-O hahaha. His affect on me was immediate and i took up the bass as my instrument not long after that. Rest in power brother and thanks to you and the whole "Slave" family (Steve A. Aura etc.)

Mark was on the same level as Billy Sheehan and Ernie Isley, no doubt about that. He would have loved this tribute and I'm only sad that I've just found this video today and that I wasn't there. A great night for a great man. Bless.(28.07.18)

There's always a great debate about who's the greatest bass player. But, what made Mark my favorite bass player was his bass lines. Especially his bass line in the song Dreamin.

Many bass players still searching for the Hansolar growl! It's still a mystery, the Hansolar's modified basses & effects he used in recordings.
Oh, so he did use a pick occasionally, there was a white pick stuck under his glittery Red P-bass pickguard...
El Debarge always spoke very highly of SLAVE
RIP MARK ADAMS...i watch this video a lots. it saddens me to know your gone but you inspired the lives of a lot of people. GOD JEHOVAH BLESSED YOU WITH AN AMAZING GIFT MY BROTHER. REST ON
