      @@ATH-camChannelwithNoName No Joke, The Drive train - engine, transmission, head unit, electronics etc., are all the same, as is the interior. The only thing that is different, is that the length has been shortened, it's been given additional ground clearance and a few suspension tweeks. I thought about buying one. I did a lot of research on the forums. I discovered there was a lot of issues with the Pilot that were causing a lot of owners to be angry and were unresolved. The Passport will have the same issues. So I didn't get one. When I looked, over a year ago, there were tons of Pilots on the lots and the passport had been out for a bit. They were selling them at huge discounts. Not sure what happened to Honda. We had a lot of them and Acuras as well in the family. All were super reliable. No issues. Unfortunately Honda has changed, a couple of years ago I was looking into buying a CRV - also tons of problems. Just stay away, and wait for the new generation, which is almost out. Or if you do buy a current generation of Pilot or passport - which you may get a huge discount on - be sure to get the extended warranty or you will be sorry :( I suggest going on the Pilot forums and read about the many issues. You could go on the Passport forums, but there are not enough out there and they are only about a year old. Good Luck

      @degoek 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BarakTheWonderer what were the issues you found about in the forums with the pilot/passport, i know the new Crv 1.5 had an oil dilution problem.

    • @BarakTheWonderer
      @BarakTheWonderer 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@degoek I haven't been following the car since I did my initial research and decided not to purchase, which was hard because the discounts were huge. But these days I place reliability and quality high on my priority list. I like NOT having to go to dealerships. :) Anyway, here are the things that I remember, that you can verify easily for yourself. 1) Transmission problems. Honda uses one transmission in the first two (lower) trim levels. And it uses a different transmission in the top 3 trim levels. This transmission is ZF sourced and is used by Chrysler/Jeep and other brands. It is known to be problematic, and despite claims of being "fixed", it remains a major dissatisfier for owners. 2) There is a fuel injector issue which seems to become known or diagnosed between 36,000 miles and 50,000 miles (and beyond the basic warranty). Honda, apparently has NOT owned up to this, refusing to cover it under the 5 year drivetrain warranty and telling owners that it is part of the emissions system, and that THEY have to pay at a huge cost - I can't remember the exact amounts mentioned, but I remember thinking "What the heck!". There may be a class action on this by now or some other remedy - you would have to check. 3) LOTS of problems with the Head Unit/Infotainment system. Many replacements - with reoccurring issues in the replaced units. Some rewiring mentioned. 4) Rear suspension thunking and clunking that is not being diagnosed and repaired. 5) More paint and fit and finish issues than I would expect from a Honda product. I'm not sure what happened to this generation Pilot/now Passport/Acura MDX. But I would wait for the next one which hopefully will be better. As a side note I was in an Acura dealership looking at late model MDX models - the salesman, mature and selling Acura's for 15 years told me to avoid this generation because of the transmission issues, and to consider the previous generation instead. I hope this helps. As I said before, my family has owned lots of Honda's and Acura's - All fantastic vehicles with no issues and many owned beyond 10 years. In fact my Mom still has a 2005 Acura TSX that still runs and looks great and has had no serious issues - recently, I finally had to replace the water pump only, after all these years! :) Good luck.

    I got a Mercedes GLC 300 instead and regret not getting the V6 engine Passport, NA engine of V6 is just superior to anything turbo-charged, I'm not a drag racer so acceleration is not important, I just didn't think Passport was an eye-catcher, and the interior is pretty pedestrian as well, a V6 RDX would've been perfect but it only comes in turbo-charged 4 cylinder

    the good thing with regard to the newer passports and it seems this one as well the radar issue could be fixed via software and that headend has an update feature so if enough people complain they could theoretically patch the way the computer interprets the data. However, members told us that their Passports suffered from climate system problems, including refrigerant leaks and the AC compressor not working properly. The similar Pilot did not have these problems. When reached via email, a Honda spokeswoman told us that “a countermeasure to address the climate system problems was applied to vehicles beginning in June, and a service bulletin was issued in August. Question- does the Passport’s auto stop/start work every time you stop (once it’s warmed up and everything) I test drove a few of the TLX with V6 SH-AWD but it didn’t really work at all and decided not to get it (I’m one of few that actually likes auto stop start) I’d always get the unavailable message after driving it for a while (no faults, just didn’t ever want to work) and have seen it in many brand new Acura’s too. Is there a minimum speed you need to reach? My car it’s like 7+ mph before it’ll activate again which defeats the purpose in bumper to bumper traffic but the Fusion I had, it would activate after like 1 MPH.
