I like the passport look more. It looks more sport type and aggressive. Also in my opinion if the took so ideas of the interior layout from the new accord like the display and steering wheel than it would look amazing.

I went with my friend to look at this and she loved it. Ended up taking home a touring awd and traded in her grand Cherokee. I was very impressed with the passport.

f181234 she has 90k miles and was ready to trade it in. Started having problems. They have good resale on them cuz she got 11k on trade for it.

They brought it back!! Before this model came out the last one was made in 2002 and discontinued it to make the Pilot glad it's back
I like the rear storage/cargo area compartment. I like they pushed the spare tire back and utilized that space with a cubby.
I really like that.
I think you can also open the rear lift gate by sticking your leg under the rear of the car where the sensor is located.
It’s crazy how large vehicles have gotten in the last few years. This 5 seater has virtually identical dimensions inside and out as my parent’s 2012 3 row acura mdx. The pilot now is just massive in comparison - the pilot and mdx used to be closer in size.

We just bought this car. I hella love it.
Now we have 3 versions of the Pilot: the Pilot, the Pilot with a bed, and the Pilot minus a 3rd row.

John, you are right, all 3 are good. I test drove the Passport and love it except it rides hard. So I bought the Ridgeline. The Ridgeline rides so nice, too bad it does have power-folding-mirrors, new instrument cluster, and the infotainment with a volume knob.
Exactly. Toyota on the other hands excels in making everyone of their vehicles different in every possible way. Gotta hand it to Toyota.

@@disco.lemonade , Yes on last Thursday. It looks much nice in and out compared to the Pilot. The rear window is sloped in which I like for looks and from the inside it doesn't feel so big. I like the button shifter. The Elite had power-folding mirrors and heated\Ventilated seats. I think the tires are more low-profle which contributes to a harder ride.
Very cool video. It is neat you got access to the Passport. I hear it releases in two days. Also the Sea Stallion flyby made your video even better. Keep up the good work. Oh and don't remove the Panic Button part of your videos. It's tradition. 🙂

The Passport is alright, I'm glad Honda brought it back. What I don't like about it is: on the passenger side, the floor board is not flat like you would see in a Rav4 and such, I'm 6'0 too, and it has that slope to it at the end, and you can't really stretch your legs out ALL THE WAY, you know? My friend has a HR-V and I cannot stand sitting in his passenger seat because of the same reason. But overall, we'll see if this car lasts.

One question, though. Is there a release button for the trunk INSIDE the cabin??? I test drove one of these and neither I nor the salesman could locate the release button for the trunk. (I know you can physically press a button on the trunk OUTSIDE and you can dig in your pocket for the key & press the button on the key to open the trunk AND you can wave your foot underneath to open it hands-free. But there is no release button INSIDE the vehicle!)

I like Ridgeline but Honda needs to redesign front end on it and upgrade infotainment unit to separate it from the pilot. All Honda’s are starting to identical.

Passport looks nice and is a great upgrade from those who want something a little nicer than the CR-V. However, Honda missed the boat on this one by not offering the Passport with a 4 cylinder engine. The Passport's gas mileage is the same as the Ridgeline and Pilot. They would sell more Passports if they offered it with a 4-cylinder engine that got better gas mileage. Also, for Older folks who still have CD's they should offer a standard or optional CD player.
Dennis Morgan you can have dealership install the CD player for you, if you see the storage bin under the AC control unit, that’s where the CD player/DVD/ blue ray located in Pilot. Majority people don’t need a CD player, if you do want it, it’s an option for the passport.
The wheels look really small in every video I've watched. Do they look bigger in person?

The headlights you see on this elite model won't come with most others. I agree with another viewer that a lighter colored interior option would be better for me. Some nice things I like and some I don't. Guessing the refreshed or next generation model will address these issues. Poor gas mileage doesn't impress me either.

This car looks sick in all black! It's a perfect combination between the Ridgeline and Pilot. Love that Honda stuck with the V6. Just curious, does the Passport have other rims options other than those black rims? Asking becuase those are the only rims I've been seeing since they revealed the Passport. Great video as always!

Does Honda offer full stop adaptive cruise control? I also heard that Honda's don't have good sound systems. I like a good sound system with awesome bass.

Something that is also Important to me is if a vehicle has front driver's and front passenger knee airbags as part of its safety system. Does the Honda Passport come with this feature?

Like other Honda vehicles, the driver's front airbag is located in the steering wheel while the passenger airbag is located on the top of the dash. When deployed, the passenger airbag inflates upward and then rearward to maximize its protective potential while reducing the likelihood of injuries caused by airbag deployment.
Driver and Front Passenger Side Airbags
Side airbags mounted in the outboard area of each front seatback are designed to help provide pelvic and thorax protection for the driver and front passenger in the event of a severe side impact. In Passport, a revised side airbag design allows the side airbags to deploy in a manner that helps mitigate the risk of injury to a smaller seat occupant.
Side Curtain Airbags
All outboard seating positions are protected by side curtain airbags with rollover sensor system. In the event of a severe side impact, the side curtain airbags deploy from modules in the roof, providing a significant level of head protection in the window area. In the unlikely event of a rollover, a roll-rate sensor, along with multiple G sensors determine the rate of roll and deploy the side curtain airbags accordingly. The side curtain airbags will also deploy and provide head protection in frontal small overlap impacts, such as when the front corner of the vehicle collides with solid object.
Like the other airbag systems in the vehicle, the side curtain system utilizes sensors to determine the most appropriate timing of airbag deployment. To provide the optimal level of protection for occupants, testing was performed to determine the most appropriate timing and rate of deployment in the unlikely event of a rollover. The system uses algorithms to continually evaluate the situation and determines whether a rollover is imminent. The roll-rate sensor and multiple G sensors (accelerometers) determine the "scenario" and calculate the angle of roll and the speed of the vehicle in order to deploy the airbags at the correct point for optimum protection.
In the case of a rollover, the side curtain airbags on both sides of the vehicle will deploy. However, in the event of a sufficient side impact that does not result in a rollover, only the airbags on the impacted side of the vehicle will deploy. Looked at an Elite yesterday. Very nice vehicle but the adaptive cruise control doesn't offer stop n' go function. That's deal breaker for me. Dealer's technical assistant said it was because you could tow up to 5000 Lbs with the Passport.

Ascent touring versus passport elite, do you like one better than the other? I like the Honda v6 but I like the Subaru awd system.
Hunter Pierce Ascent seems to have issues with turning off and all lights coming on. Car becomes inoperable. Look up forums. Also, it has a CVT (not bad but not sure about long term reliability)
Honestly, if you don’t need the 3rd row, and you are okay with push button gear shifter, then just go for the Passport, otherwise, ascent
Honda, please get rid of the gloss black interior trim pieces. Use the wood-like trim from the CRV instead. The exterior gloss black pieces should be a brushed metal.

The great lesson is about this video is, you know more about the vehicle than the salesperson who is trying to sell you this vehicle. You can teach the salesperson about this vehicle and they may give you a discount. I would advise anyone to watch car reviews before going into the dealership.

On the Honda web site they imply the Passport has the ability to handle challenging driving conditions like snow etc. Is this going to drive anywhere like my Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland for snow and off-road conditions. It does not it have low range four wheel drive etc. what about limited slip and transfer of power in difficult traction conditions. You didn’t cover any of this which is important.
