    I just made this with the addition of a whole Vidalia onion roughly chopped. This is my first time cooking anything, much less in the ninja. I am amazed at how perfect it turned out. I got a pot notice at the beginning but I knew it was because I needed to scrape the bottom of the pot. No big deal. I wish I had flour or corn starch to thicken the juices but I'll do that next time. This video made me feel like I could actually do this, and it worked!

    • @mitchcox
      @mitchcox  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes you can. Searing it is supposed to seal in the juices to make the finished product a little more juicy and tender. But it is not required. You can set it and forget it. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe. Take care.

    • @heids418
      @heids418 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Searing is more about flavor than it is to seal in the moisture. To answer your question, you can absolutely just season the roast, set it and forget it. However, you’ll get a much more flavorful roast if you take a few extra minutes to sear the meat.

  • @Milllarman
    @Milllarman 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The roast looks nicely cooked, soft and tender but you crucified those veggies. I would suggest cooking the roast alone for 45/50 and then adding the veggies for the last 10 minutes. You could sauté chopped veggies with a few fresh herbs at the start which would form your base stock.

    • @Milllarman
      @Milllarman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Iowaboy2164 Good morning Andrew. Probably no more that a couple of minutes I guess as everything is already hot. I pressure cook the meat first. I add chopped onions and celery and then sauté the meat and veggies in the grey pan before adding stock and then pressure cooking on high for whatever time is required and then quick release the pressure. From there I would add more stock (if needed) and my vegetables and cook for a further 3 or 4 minutes. Your meat will still be nice and tender but your veggies won’t be all mushy. It’s just another way from someone who is more familiar with pressure cooking than using a Ninja. Hope that helps a little?
