    Welcome to the NEW SERIES everyone! Before you say this video is quite food based but this series is not a day of eating. Stay tuned for the following episodes to see my training, daily practice and more. My favourite part is 8:01 onwards, what's yours?
    Edit: All those high fat, low carb vs other diets stuff might be better answered in a future video....:)

    Hey Tom! New subscriber here, loving your videos. It'd be great if you brought more energy when you talk to the camera. You tend to 'stay within yourself'. If you could bring on a bit more cheer, and project your voice to the camera (instead of talking normally), it'd give your video a huge boost. ^_^

      Hey welcome! Sure I understand what you're saying but it's not me. I try to be authentic to me and if I start acting differently for a camera then I'm losing that. It might make my videos more entertaining etc but it won't make them mine. Thanks for the input :)

It is supposed to be easier to digest no bloating gas or wind. Sauerkraut too.. do you make juices -carrot beet give great vitality before a work out.

      I would say it's important to consider what is needed to be stretched as we don't just want to stretch randomly but rather for the function of use. Would definitely spend some time with the neck and chest as well as strengthening postural muscles on the back. Sorry I can't help more :)

    Hi Tom, really looking forward to the new series! I'd be really grateful if you could possibly answer a couple of questions for me. Firstly, if you train in the morning, would you simply recommend having a higher carbohydrate meal as your first meal and them having a more fat based meal in the evening? Secondly, I understand you don't undertake much cardiovascular targeted training yourself, however for those of us that do include it alongside our strength and gymnastics work, would you recommend a transition away from such high fat levels to a more carbohydrate based diet or not? Thanks a lot :)

    • @BodyweightWarrior
      @BodyweightWarrior  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      In terms of carb loading you can do it one of two ways. Firstly is as you described with the carb heavy meal after training in the morning then fat and protein the rest of the day. Alternatively you can stick to the fat, veggies and protein in the morning and only have 20-40g of carbs post training and save the carb feast for the final meal. I would recommend finding out what works well for you. Yes I would up your carbohydrates and drop the fat. There is evidence for becoming keto adapted for endurance training but that is a more complex beast. As I said in the video use carbs in proportion to your training. Just stick to the partitioning of meals. Either fat, protein and veggies or protein, starchy veg and low fat depending on when it is. Hope this helps explain a little more :)

    Hey Tom, what do you find are the benefits of Fulvic Acid? Lately I have been starting my day with some acidic lemon water before I eat or drink anything else, but I'm interested in hearing more about that concoction of yours shown in this video.

    • @BodyweightWarrior
      @BodyweightWarrior  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      So it's basically just a bunch of minerals. I drink filtered water so that and a pinch of salt is how I increase the total dissolved solids of the water and make it a little more hydrating. Warm lemon water is also an amazing start. To be honest it changes daily. Chaga tincture, apple cider vinegar and lemon all regularly make an appearance :)

    I thought carbs were the body's preferred source of energy?

    • @BodyweightWarrior
      @BodyweightWarrior  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends on what you've eaten and what you're doing. When there is carbohydrates present then your body has to burn them or store them, there is no choice. When they are absent then your body will oxidise fat to use as fuel or it will convert carbohydrate carbon substrates into glucose through gluconeogenesis. I think it is probably far more complex than that but that'll do. When it comes to exercise then the fuel partitioning is generally fat dominant at low levels of activity. As activity gets more intense then glucose is used more. Again over simplified but that is the general process as far as I know :)

    • @kylekidder3949
      @kylekidder3949 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tom Merrick I think the best way to look at it is if you are more cardio centric eat more carbs. If you aren't going out and running like 8 miles a day then you really don't need a lot. Plus I've found that when I take time off from distance running I crave carbs less anyways. But could just be me.

    • @BodyweightWarrior
      @BodyweightWarrior  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes agreed. Well as I said in the video "eat carbs based of your exercise". Have you earned your carbs? I've been surprised at how little I need to perform well in this bodyweight style of training. There is also a very interesting route of ketosis for endurance sports which research has just started tapping into :)

    • @kylekidder3949
      @kylekidder3949 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Tom Merrick I would be interested in comparing the diets as well. When endurance training versus just my regular bodyweight routines. It's hard not to eat a lot of carbs not consuming meat though, for me anyways. Either way it's an interesting way to eat that i haven't tried so keep the updates coming. It's nice to see something different for a change.

    do you take multivitamins? do you believe in supradose?

    • @BodyweightWarrior
      @BodyweightWarrior  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd say the fermented cod liver and butter oil blend is like a fat soluble multi vitamin. I also take Oxylent Sport which is like an equivalent of Berocca/EmergenC without all the terrible ingredients and actually absorbable. Do you mean like high dose vitamin therapy?

    • @reconxd1459
      @reconxd1459 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean if you take a multi and coupled with your diet you exceed to much of a certain vitamin, are there side effects? or that's just a mith? and you can't accualy overdose that easy on vitamins, because if we take the RDA, it's gonna be a big overdose. I see some brands having such a hight amount of certain Vitamins on them like (B12-5000% RI). I wonder if someone with a good nutrition would take that, what would happen?

    • @BodyweightWarrior
      @BodyweightWarrior  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So yes there are side effects to supplementing too much but I think it is unlikely that that would happen with just simply taking a multivitamin. You'd have to be taking huge doses of very specific vitamins to risk anything. You can "overdose" from the diet. If you eat too much beta-carotene you'll start getting orange fingers. It's benign but certainly a side effect. Ultimately I think you're body is very, very good at dealing with excess and deficiencies. I personally don't take too many because I think i have most basis covered with nutrition but I still supplement where I know I don't. I think the answer is, like everything, find what works for you, not somebody else :)

    • @dant.6364
      @dant.6364 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There are several good reasons to be a vegan. One is if you feel using animal products is unethical. Another is if you feel that avoiding meat and dairy is better for the planet. Veganism is certainly better for your health than the standard american diet. Saying veganism is more healthy for everybody than a low carb diet is nonsense. That is the problem with veganism -
      it is so often a kind of religion or a political statement sold to the average person as the one and only healthy way to eat. For the other side of the debate check out Brian Williamson's podcast Ketovangelist or the website at Ketovangelist.com.

      I personally feel better when I am fat adapted so running on fat as my primary fuel source over carbohydrates. This is a personal preference but this is a fair amount of research backing the low carb higher fat approach for body composition, weight loss and longevity. I wouldn't start telling you what to do but I would say to experiment and find your own path :)

      It's damn good and damn nourishing. I actually explained in one of my cali vlogs (8:38 in this th-cam.com/video/o9GFnFUsWKE/w-d-xo.html) but I may make a video in future properly explaining it including benefits :) Let me know if you like it!
