@@sailingEV888 Very kind invite! If you're ever back up here I may take you up on that. But I only just stumbled across your channel. It's just funny that I see this one, single boat anchored out there and then come find out who it was through TH-cam. Wild stuff. Fair winds in Florida!
We referred to the 'docks' as the Forrestal Piers, as they were constructed to accommodate the USS FORRESTAL carrier. Next are the supply ships then the 'D & S' - destroyer and submarine - Piers. When I was in Sea Explorers we rowed from Town Point Park to Elizabeth City. I made that trip every Spring for 3 years.
I just can’t wait you hit Warner temperature! Do not trust out pilot especially that everything it’s so new. We are here with you. Have a safe passages!
My vlogging style changes after this video. I decided to shoot things differently and I hope you guys will enjoy the next video more. I'm editing footage from a month ago.
Thanks for the vid. I just bought a 30 footer in Hampton and have to motor down the ICW through Norfolk (10 points for pronouncing it like a local, most outsiders stress the L to much, we say "Nor Fuk"). I'm a bit scared of all the big ship traffic in that area. I'm only going as far as Roanoke Island (Manteo NC) where I'm gonna rent a slip to live aboard. I have a seasonal business in Nags Head that is closed during the winter so next winter I'll be ready to head for Florida. Maybe I'll try the Caribbean the year after that. I surf in the Outer Banks so I'd love to head to Barbados or Puerto Rico.
That sounds like a great plan and a beginning to your adventure! I wish you fair winds and following seas captain!! Maybe Ill see you out there and have a beer mate!
I remember the days when all I could think about was doing this adventure. One thing I can say is be prepared! I hope these video will give you some insight on how it's done.! Thanks for commenting
So I'm St. Augustin Florida and.... it's cold.. I think your right about me bringing the cold weather south with me! Just motivation to move on to the Bahamas!!!!
Hey man!! It's John, from Charleston Harbor! I anchored at Hospital Point my first night out on this journey. I am still in Daytona Beach, waiting for the parts to hopefully fix that dang e-bike...have you started to think about where you are gonna stage to cross the gulf stream, yet? After here I am going to probably hit West Palm Beach, then figure for a departure point, studying "Passages South", still need to get my charts though. P.S.- I heard you on the vhf trying to contact that cruise ship outside Chucktown and it gave me a smile knowing you're out here!
Hey brother!! I'm in St. Augustin right now. Going to try and be in Daytona by tomorrow! Maybe I'll see you there? If not let's meet up once I'm close to your position maybe we cross the gulf stream at the same time.? Food for thought! I'll message you tomorrow and see where your at!!
A little giddy getting of the ocean eh? Yeah I'm the same after a rough sail. Like "hey look what I survived." -15 last night here on the north channel. Brrrr.
👍Thank you for pronouncing Norfolk correctly. Most loopers butcher the name.

Try to find a Skipper Bob’s Cruising Guide. It’s awesome and gives lots of great info on anchorages, supplies, local knowledge etc.
I will look into that!!
Go out the bridge tunnel, it is easier and faster.

Awesome!! I will be here for at least several days, they are shipping from California. I'm in the anchorage at Bethune Park, it's at ICW Red 44
Losing his mind 😆
Do you have your part 107 for your drone flying ? I’d be very careful about flying your drone in Norfolk

No doubt! Long passages make you a bit nuts!!.. 10 degrees here off the coast of Florida! Maybe one of these days I'll get some warm nights!!
So this was 2 weeks ago. How far did you get down at this point?
I'm in Daytona Beach Florida!!!!!!! Thanks for watching brother!!
