What do you mean it seemed like the days of him running WR pace was behind him? He had a bloody pulled hamstring in the beginning of June. Not only was he not actually a favourite at last years worlds, admitting that he hadn't been able to train at all for well over a month in the run up to the games and ended up predictably lacking fitness, this is just over the top. I like these round ups but sensationalising a poorly timed, relatively minor injury as the potential end of his career as we knew it is just silly. The impact of his incredible opener is greatly diminished by exaggerating in other parts of your narrative.

The man has the most impressive stride ever in track and field. Is absolutely mental how fast he starts 400m and maintain his pace towards the finish line.
His WR is out of this world and I'm really glad to see someone from a Scandinavian country reaching the sky.

Yes, but that was at one of the fastest and most advanced tracks in the world; Jessheim. After all, that is why the norwegian renaissance poet Diaz said "let me taketh thou to my town, my town, Jessheim"

What makes this run special? It is the fastest performance that didn't took place on a high ranking competition. Seriously? Author is soo over hyping. For each and single run you can find something special about it. This is not the fastest performance even for Warholm himself. Hi did NOTHING special.

Overhyping? He ran faster than the previous world record he took that had stood for 30 years, so to belittle the time is kind of ridicilous. This was also his first race of the season.

You don't give him enough credit. He's injured! It has happened to some of the best athletes. Of course, he is not going to go under 47 seconds as he isn't healthy. You seem to take a lot of things out of context.

To be able to run under 46 in the 400m is incredible. If he trains 400 he can do 42’s🤔

I kinda think the man who ran hurdle world record can run a 42 400m because he also has the hurdles slowing him down and he ran a 45

1309 points is crazy good. For perspective, no 100m runner in the last decade has ran 9.70 seconds (1309 points). Only Bolt/Blake/Gay have scored 1309+ points in the 100m, the same way only Warholm, Benjamin & Dos Santos have scored 1309+ points in the 400mH & no one else. Also only Bolt/Blake/MJ/Lyles have got that many points or higher in the 200m, even Knighton's 19.49 is below 1309 points.
Some WRs aren't this many points. Faith Kipyegon's recent 1500m & 5000m don't reach the 1300s. This is the best performance of the year track & field wise imo. Ingebrigsten's 1500m time was crazy, a European record ahead of people running a North American & Australian record in the same race, & yet Warholm's run is of a higher tier.

Well. The points system is no exact science, and it could very well be argued that 400mH times are overrated. It should probably be revised. Heia Karsten! 🇳🇴👏
