While I'm curious about the rest of the world I'm also very afraid to leave the intimacy of the Isles. What drew me to this world was how personal and close a generic story about the assassination of an Empress became. I'm very attached to Corvo in particular, and I couldn't get into Daud's story that much because it lacked that intimacy I loved so much. The second game, playing as Emily and witnessing her realize her training escapades were still not letting her see the empire as it is, was just as compelling. Navigating the world of Dishonoured is breathtaking and incredibly immersive _because_ you don't need to expand it too much. There is detail and depth in every every design, in every song, in every conversation you overhear; a cultural and social stamp that you can't misidentify when comparing it to other equally distinct but similar game worlds. If there are to be more games in the Dishonoured world, they need to be crafted with as much love and dedication as those we got so far. I don't want this world ruined so it can make more money. I want this gothic, slightly musty but beautiful industrial universe to remain connected to the sea, to the grime and harshness of a culture so enriched by it's depressing erosion.

So I’ve just been going through a bunch of your videos because I’ve had more time to listen to TH-cam than unusual and I would love to see you tackle a definitive version of Draken/NieR so far. I feel like the amount of effort that you put into these videos would truly make for one of the most perfectly compiled long form lore video
First off, I've recently found your videos and I love them, you have the perfect mix of telling the lore and adding little jokes. Secondly, even the developers admitted Lady Boyle's nonlethal ending was terrible in a way completely different than the other targets, so in the books you learn that a few years after being taken, Boyle's husband disappeared under mysterious circumstances and she was content living with the mansion and wealth he left behind, far from Dunwall.
I remember the first time I played this game I did an almost fully non-violent play through except for 1 kill I did on accident at the beginning of the game. Had to replay the whole game just to get the achievement. Lol
Always nice to click on a random lore video and be Blown away by high production quality and fantastic narration. Stupendous work, I shall stick around for a while
I would love to see a short 9 episode show of the Dishonored world, with Arkane's art style. The perfect painted look to capture that Otherworldly Familiarity.

Just gonna point out, even in Dishonored 1, Emily is explicitly aware of Corvo as her father, (she even makes a drawing of Corvo that calls him "Daddy") its also heavily implied that behind closed doors they actually lived like a regular family, but Emily doesn't explicitly call Corvo any fatherly terms because of his lack of nobility and the threat that poses to the throne. (despite functionally every character Corvo meets being pretty clearly aware of it) She's just intentionally keeping it hidden as a facade. Not that doing so exactly makes much sense when she makes one of the drawings and when everyone Corvo meets being pretty aware that Emily is his daughter.
This game was a pleasant surprise. When I started playing I had no idea this game would become one of my favorites. The gold standard of gaming for sure. Easily up there with Ocarina of Time and Skyrim.
I watched all 3 of your dishonored videos. Love the voice! This series is weird for me, because a quick death still seems more preferable than many of the low chaos choices IMO. Doing a replay in 2022, and didn't want to read all the books and notes. Having a surprising amount of technical curfluffle on this game. Also if Daud was so renowned, Corvo would've been able to identify him during the assassination of Jessamine.
Outside of a Clean Hands run. It is... Way more merciful to kill Lady Boyle than it is to hand her over as essentially a slave and captive to the stalker. As much as I feel like the other non-lethal options fit. Y'know, High Overseer branded a heretic, (which he is.) Pendeltons set to work in their own mines, Hiram's lies beaten by the truth. Lady Boyle's is... Not fitting. What would've been fitting would be somehow bankrupting her, since her thing is huge amounts of wealth.
Dude... the audacity to unleash a plague ON PURPOSE to rid a city of lower class - Wow! I actually - literally - said that. Getting back into the Dishonored games, so this is a great refresher. Dark stuff! Also, you have a very nice voice to listen to.

Your script and the information you give are so well done what's there to dislike? Also your voice fits so well for a dishonored video, you sound like a historian from the game or something it's so immersive I like listening to this while playing Dishonored lol
Boyle was the only decision that was hard for me, killing her was fucked up since she was basically an innocent, but the less chaotic option was arguably way worse. Ended up taking the terrible non-lethal option since I wanted the 100% "good" ending even though the thought of it made me gag, I consoled myself with the thought that Corvo not being a completely terrible person would send people to rescue her after saving his daughter.

Qualms: I wish there was a discussion on the Heart, and just a little bit about the powers from the Outsider and the different mechanical defences. I'm guessing this video is mostly for people who completed the game, and those aspects are rather memorable. Thanks again!
This is exactly what i was looking for, Thank you for the time and effort you put into this video, loved it
I'm just discovering this channel and I'm loving how well you explain everything in this video. I didn't know all this lore about Dishonored (well, to be fair I only played each game once and relatively recently).
Are you a voice actor? Your voice is so soothing and calming...and did you write the script? And with the backdrop of my favour game Dishonoured...I'm so happy to find this channel...already subbed, and hope your channel gains more following
Thank you for those kind words! To answer: I'm not a voice actor, and the videos are all done by myself with occasional additional footage capture help from channel moderator Viryl.
Yea Samual tried to sell me out in the end after our last boat ride but unfortunately he wasn’t as quick on the draw as I was😂
Anyone who makes Dishonored content earns my sub. Will check out your other lore vids too, this is thorough and is very professional.
They didn't just create games with Dishonored and its sequels, they created am entire World. One I very much want to return to someday.
Extremelly underrated channel ! And and amazing video , loved the bit about your playthrough !
10:20 My, my, you must say, what we experienced from 2020 onwards,
and the currently *reported 800 000 dead in the US* , is a plot like this
possible in this reality too? .......eerie.... 🤔🤔🤔
Pandyssia sounds beautiful. The imagery you used reminds me of my tropical/temperate home
Love your style of lore exposition! This is fantastic!
I just wanted to tell you that your work is a veritable inspiration for the storyteller in me. I love it!
A great video, and the narration is a calming voice with a complimentary background soundtrack
A fantastic game series, rich with lore! Your storytelling ability really does this fascinating world justice!
Love dishonerd lore videos and this is deffinatlybone of the best ones I've seen
Wonderful video and impeccable narration
Thank you so much for checking it out!
As a huge fan of this game, I appreciate the time and effort you went through for this video really great stuff!
I remember the first time I played this game I did an almost fully non-violent play through except for 1 kill I did on accident at the beginning of the game. Had to replay the whole game just to get the achievement. Lol
already 10 year. wow how fast the time is, remembered my college days.
Damn that last bit had me wondering if it was a voice line from the game. You did a phenomenal delivery!
Always nice to click on a random lore video and be Blown away by high production quality and fantastic narration. Stupendous work, I shall stick around for a while
Thank you for covering details that the game wasn't very clear on. That helped me a lot.
I would love to see a short 9 episode show of the Dishonored world, with Arkane's art style. The perfect painted look to capture that Otherworldly Familiarity.
One of the many moments in my gaming experience that made me sit and dwell on a subject is that scene where you come across the man with his friend and he’s holding him just talking to him
A very somber moment
Just played this after you recommend it. Finished it one day yesterday. Damn slicing with katana and blinking is so satisfying that I dont care I got chaos ending lul.
High Chaos team unite!!
Yay! I'm delighted to see this.
I love the lore of Dishonored, and this video is amazing. ❤️
Thank you so much!
@@TiptoeTheTank I know the studio is working on other things, and that the composer sadly passed away, but I do hope we'll get a third game eventually. It seemed they were seeding that the next story would take place in Tyvia, and I would love to go there!
I'm addicted to this phenomenal channel.
This was an absolute joy to listen to - thank you for the passion and hard work here. Actually made me want to play the game.
Thank you! I started this game on a whim a few nights ago not really expecting much except a fun game. Playing through it, I felt like... There's got be more. And your video proves exactly that. This game's lore and story is so amazing but to be honest, I didn't feel like reading all the books haha so thank you!
I love how low chaos is more cruel
Intro was crazy. Such a good video
Switching up the thumbnail on this vid is definitely doing something, I’ve watched it a few times already and it’s still being recommended haha
Loved this game when it came out back in 2012, and it's more relevant today than ever
Got into the game series last year....absolutely underrated game
Great channel just subbed 👍
Amazing video youve earned a sub. Ive watched every single video out there on dishonored lore and its so good to see another one
Your content is something else. Bravo! So glad I found your channel
This game was a pleasant surprise. When I started playing I had no idea this game would become one of my favorites. The gold standard of gaming for sure. Easily up there with Ocarina of Time and Skyrim.
You are underrated. And need more attention!! This was great!
Love your videos! More lore then I knew existed about everything!!
Dude... the audacity to unleash a plague ON PURPOSE to rid a city of lower class - Wow! I actually - literally - said that. Getting back into the Dishonored games, so this is a great refresher. Dark stuff! Also, you have a very nice voice to listen to.
Holy hell your voice is so cool!! I've just finished reading the first book and now playing the first game.... Out of sync slightly but wow is your voice perfect for this world!! Please do more videos on Dishonored!
Well you're in luck because there's two more Dishonored videos. She did a lore vid on each game.
Oh man what I would give to play the first one for the first time again, enjoy
i think i found my new favorite channel
This is so well done. Amazing!
Amazing video, u r your way to peak. Keep up the great work!
hey just leaving a comment to help with the channel ! also thank you for the vid i never really played the game but i loved to hear the whole story since i had alot of interest in it!
Thanks for checking it out!
Dishonored is a fantastic example of "good" not being the same as "nice", and how sometimes death is a mercy. Especially with Lady Boyle.... yikes.
Youre narration is amazing, I subbed. I could see you being some sort of voice actor in games
I'm certain Emily knew corvo was her father. But perhaps instructed to not address him as so. To me the smoking gun is an image she draws of corvo that is titled "Daddy"
2 minutes in and I'm hooked. Great style.
I don't understand how 7 A-holes can dislike this amazingly well done video. Goes to show no matter what you do there will still be a few idiots that don't like a perfect video, seriously I don't get it you obviously worked really hard on this. Your script and the information you give are so well done what's there to dislike? Also your voice fits so well for a dishonored video, you sound like a historian from the game or something it's so immersive I like listening to this while playing Dishonored lol
Just found your channel, love that you play all the games I adore.
